“I like bourbon, and this place has a lot of it. And some of the bourbons are very reasonably priced for what you might expect, given the swankymodern atmosphere.

A curious interaction with the customer next to me resulted in some laughs with the bartender and genuine recommendations for more, let’s say, “atmospheric” bars to check out in town. So if you need a good jumping off point downtown or a date spot for a society gal I would say this is the place.“

“This was probably my fourth time going to the restaurant and my waitress. Victoria was phenomenal. I still remember my first time and I forget the waitress’s name but she also was phenomenal. Very complementary just like Victoria so it makes the experience very much more personable. The food and the drinks were great. I definitely enjoy the atmosphere. It reminds me of going to a friend’s house for a meal. If you’d like a cozy intimate place I recommend here. You will be in close proximity to other patrons, however that doesn’t distract or deter from the experience, especially if you’re someone who again likes an intimate experience. I ordered the pistachio pancakes. They were amazing. If you have a nut allergen, obviously you can’t get them but if you don’t, it taste amazing. I also had an espresso martini that was super tasty and the hot chocolate is also great. I tried a new item which is the fried Elote balls which kind of reminds me of hush puppies but with a little spicy cake it has the whole corn kernel in it so I’m definitely a fan of those and I recommend trying them“

“We had täkō last night in Pittsburgh for the first time and it was SO GOOD! They had their Spookeasy pop up Halloween bar and the set up was so cool, it was pretty packed with it being Halloween weekend but it was such a cool atmosphere! We ended up getting seats at the bar and the two bartenders were so friendly, knowledgeable and helpful with deciding what drinks we wanted to try! The tacos.....the octopus is the BEST, chorizo was second best for me. Pictures aren't the greatest, but it's the best I got. Definitely a great time if you're feeling fancy 🍶 It's not cheap, but I'd say definitely worth it for the food, drinks, staff and just the atmosphere of it all.“

This is a nice spot to get something to eat after getting off the Incline. The area the place is on is perfect for tourists to get a bite to eat before getting back down onto East Carson Street before their 3 hour PRT pass expires.“

“I am a foodie for sure and this experience was a flavor explosion!! The beets were a texture fantasy with a crunch and sweet savory home run. And the Striploin?!!!!! Filet tenderness with a better than NY strip flavor (how is it possible?). Second only to my NYC Wagyu A5 favorite. I was a little hesitant when I first saw the menu, but nothing disappointed at all! Would definitely recommend and return with friends for that steak!!! Chef Dave is a Master of flavors. Shame on me for reviewing before dessert. COME FOR THE DESSERT!! SMH. Creativity of the highest order. I can see why this place is packed tonight. Bring a date, bring your family, impress a client. You will not regret it. And ask for Crystal! “A 60-something local rocker, when I asked him which bar in Pittsburgh best captures the spirit of the beautiful ’60s–’70s, said: “Squirrel Hill Cafe.” I think he was right. There’s no pretentiousness here. Food is just food, drinks are drinks, service is service, and quality is quality. Time seems to have stopped here — and that’s a beautiful thing.“

“This is one of my favorite restaurants in the city. The entrees are creative plays on classic Italian dishes, the sides are well executed and the appetizers are incredible. The most dangerous thing is the buckwheat focaccia. It's fluffy, soft and flavorful, and the variety of dipping options are mouthwatering individually. I love the vibe of the restaurant. It's hip without feeling forced, the staff is friendly and they play cool music. It's a great date night spot. Major drawback is the parking. It's on-street, and a crapshoot at best to find a spot near the door. But don't let that stop you from checking this place out. It's worth the trip. Pricing is in-line with most upscale dining in the city but not at the extreme upper end.“

“We looked for a great place to eat, in close proximity to our hotel. Searching the internet, Carmody's Grille seemed to stick out for us! My French Dip Sandwich was excellent, as was the Grilled Cheese with bacon! The staff made us feel at home, and Emily went above and beyond to make our visit great, including charging our dead phone! “MY friend and I went there on Saturday to celebrate our birthdays..Our server Adam was simply amazing. He patiently waited for us to decide on our drink order and went as far as to let us try the drink to see if we liked it, which we didn’t but he took it off our bill and then brought us a birthday card and wished us a happy birthday. The food was very delicious. But our main complaint comes down to Adam !! He was so fantastic and such a kind person . They truly have a rare gem in him as an employee! I hope they appreciate him because he is what makes it a truly wonderful experience there. We will definitely go back there and if we are lucky Adam will be our server.!!!“

“My wife & I go to dinner with a few other couples once a month. We go down the alphabet & go to non chain restaurants. We picked Meat & Potatoes for M. This was all of our first time at the restaurant. We were seated in the side 1 table room, the service was great, it was like our own little space. My wife & I got the 2 Tomahawk steaks, bone marrow, asparagus, & shoestring fries. Everything was amazing, we all got different starters to share. We got the pig candy, all starters were great! There was not one complaint from the table, we will definitely be back. I have known the owner for a very long time, & been to his other places & been just as satisfied. GREAT JOB RICK & ALL OF YOUR STAFF!“
