We were greeted with smiling faces, our waiter was quick and knowledgeable, and the food, oh Lord, the food was impeccable!!!!! “Overall my experience at Margarita King in Mercer was good, but the enchiladas de Mar was a huge disappointment. Described in the menu as shrimp and crab. NO REAL CRAB MEAT!! Large chunks of imitation crab. It was worse than no crab at all. FDA rules prohibit using surimi and calling it crab on a menu. The dish would be much better with just shrimp if they can’t use real crab. ORDER ANYTHING ELSE! The band, Uptown Classic Hits was GREAT.“

“A couple of nights ago I was at the restaurant with two other people. Wonderful ambience , exceptional service. I am only giving this one negative comment so that someone would be aware that the kitchen staff needs to be educated to make the dishes match what the menu states. We had an appetizer and each of us ordered a different meal. The others meals were excellent and perfectly done. I ordered the stuffed sweet potato with a special topping and crispy shallots. The skin on the bottom of the baked sweet potato was burned. No big deal I could scrape the potato away from that. The shallots, however, were not even close to crispy. They were soggy, limp and bitter. I was disappointed but did not want to make a fuss In front of my friends. We had tasty cocktails and I repeat excellent service. I will be back and will recommend the Tavern to friends.“
