The incredible Tony Campbell led the band the night we went, and the energy was electric. Tuesday nights are jam sessions, and the place gets packed for a good reason. What blew me away is that the band actually lets people from the audience join in. If you bring an instrument and want to perform, they’ll give you the stage. Where else can you play in front of professionals and a live crowd? That’s rare, and it makes the night unforgettable. This was a surprise date night from my husband, and the vibe was everything! Intimate, soulful, and alive. The tofu dish sealed it for me, perfectly prepared and full of flavor. Con Alma isn’t just dinner. It’s culture, community, and connection. “What a sweet place to have a delightful meal! Emerson's is on the second floor, so if you're seated by the windows, you get a nice view of downtown that is really beautiful at night. There is a nice sized bar and a comfy fireplace spot as well. Our server was AWESOME! She was so knowledgable and sweet, and she KNEW we'd be addicted to the fried olives (I'm thinking about going back today just to get them again haha). Crab cakes were tremendous, and the pork chop came with a really great sage-y stuffing. The chocolate cake, which our server said was like as if a Fererro Rocher was a cake, was AMAZING. Cocktails were inventive and delicious, and the "bartender's pick" was a sweet surprise, too!“

“A spot that really delivers on its promise of unique food and a wonderful ambiance. We thought we had a reservation for Sunday of Valentine's weekend at 9 PM... turns out I reserved a month ahead of time for March 15th. But, they had a table available to accommodate us anyways! One of my favorite places now, certainly on the pricier side, but you will leave very, very full. I would recommend getting 1-2 things out of each section of the menu. This ran us about $195 for two people on a special night out, which is better than other classy spots around the city. Some of the flavor profiles I had in these dishes are unlike anything I've ever experienced before. My standouts were the grilled cabbage Caesar and the rainbow trout fillet. Both just incredible flavor experiences, and we were fighting to finish off that fillet as the final course.

Will be going back again and again! I hope the branzino will be available for our next trip!“

They consistently update the menu with new food and drink items that make us excited to return, while keeping some favorites that have been there since the restaurant opened. “Hemlock House describes itself as serving "irreverent food," and they aren't kidding. I came in expecting a burger, but I stayed for the Frog Legs—the gochujang brown butter buffalo sauce is an absolute game changer. If you are looking for boring bar food, go elsewhere. Here, you have to try the Beef Tartare; the quality of the Snake River Farms beef really shines, and the soy cured yolk adds such a rich texture. For the main event, the Duck Burger is a must-order. The combination of a duck and beef fat patty with luxardo cherries and boursin cheese sounded crazy on paper, but it was incredible. This place is a culinary hidden gem.“

“Had dinner before a theatre show last night. Service was amazing. I had the Golden Hour and my daughter had a lavender lemon drop, both so delicious. The beet salad and the lobster Mac and cheese were phenomenal. We ordered fried green tomatoes as an app. It has a corn meal breading we didn’t love, so we only had 1 and didn’t want to box it. Our server removed it from bill and sent the manager over without us asking, (which I wouldn’t have) it just wasn’t our favorite. The attention to their customers was noticeable during our entire meal!“
