“I was greeted at counter and we placed our order. First thing I noticed was the place was very clean..! Bathroom was even clean..! Food didn't take very long and everything was fine. I had chicken with cashews and I especially liked that there were plenty of veggies in it. I ate what I could and took the rest home and enjoyed it reheated later. Staff was also friendly..!

He was extremely nice about it and didn't have any problems. Any questions we had he answered politely with no issue. “I love Chinese if you seen anything I commented on to Nauseam. This is one of the best in Harrisburg. They have all day specials. Which really helps the wallet. Not only that but it's good. Try getting Rib Tip sauce or spicy garlic sauce on your chicken or fries.“

Parking: The spot to turn into the lot can be confusing just peel them eyes“

“Great food, fast service, friendly people. I had my headphones in so I couldn't understand the lady but a girl standing beside me helped with my confusion being there for my first time. I called ahead for my order and when you get there to pick up you just give the lady behind the counter your last 4 of your phone number so they know what order is yours. Went back a few days later and had the same fat service and great hot food. Definitely go by as much as possible.

Kid-friendliness: Big open lobby with some seating on the side, but enough room inside that kids can be out of the way while ordering and waiting. I didn't see any tables or I just can't remember if there were any. I only grabbed take out, sorry.

Wheelchair accessibility: On Street level with a big sidewalk out front, the door easily opens, big open lobby.“

“2015 update: I usually get the general tso's, which I have never ever had anything better than their's. Highly recommend them. I used to work near them so my friend and I probably went enough to pay the rent bill. :)2024 update: after a decade of going to China one and having general tso's literally at every Chinese restaurant I could get to in a 20 mile radius over the years, they absolutely still make the best! I will add my same friend, and I still come here fairly regularly at least 1 or 2 times a month. I think as a very long time patron I have the right to say in all honesty that the interior decor, walls, bathrooms, menus, and basically everything you can see is in need of a MASSIVE renovation! It makes it feel crumby to see it and eat there cause you aren't sure just how clean anything is. It's like they built the place, and that was the last time they thought about updating literally anything. Not being mean, I just want to eat A class food in an A class restaurant, not a D- restaurant. I recommend this place to anyone. They will always say my 2 favorite words at the end of ordering every time, "ten minutes" if you know, you know... :)“

“This place is our local favorite for traditional Chinese food takeout. I'm not claiming that it is gourmet or elite dining, but we do egg rolls, pork fried rice, and Sesame Chicken, and it's great. The restaurant is clean, and the young man is always chatty (great family owns this place). It is slightly hidden off Fisher Rd., but the preferred option for the 17055.“

“Delicious as always. I ordered takeout, the sweet and sour chicken combo with lo mein instead of fried rice. I am never disappointed when I order food from here. The portion size of both the chicken and the lo mein were good, leaving me with some leftovers for tomorrow. It was hot, fresh, and tasty. The staff was friendly and the food was ready quickly.“

We've gotten good experiences here for some time now.Notably, this is one of the Chinese places that knows how to change their oil out once in a while so everything doesn't taste like everything else.I would recommend take out. The dining room is cold in the winter. That said, plan ahead. There have been times where 20 minutes has turned into 40. It's a family owned business and there are times they are shorthanded.

“We get from here at my office often and it is always top notch. We used to go to a different place but have fully switched to here. The food is always fresh and hot when they get to the office. Sometimes the service for take out isn't the friendliest but when they're busy we get that. Would definitely make it your go to place!“

“This is a small, local business. My wife and I have been ordering food from Golden Dragon since they first opened. Rarely have we been disappointed. Most times, I rave about their Szechuan Chicken and Hot/Sour Soup. My wife really enjoys the Broccoli with garlic sauce. The atmosphere is plain as you might expect. We always order takeout.
Finally, the owner is friendly and always 'on the ball'.

“This place is very good not sure why their rating wasn’t higher. Stayed at the hotel up the street and ordered from here 2 nights in a row. They deliver very fast and everything showed up hot and fresh. Their sweet and sour sauce is the real deal nice and thick not watery, I miss places making it like this. Combination fried rice was good, Mongolian dish came with beef shrimp and chicken. The garlic shrimp was delicious. Sweet and sour chicken was on point. I give them an 4.8 out of 5.“

“I ordered from the menu, so my main dish was cooked fresh, however, the rice noodles were taken from the pre-cooked bins at the counter. I got General Tso's tofu. The tofu tasted fresh, though marginally over cooked. The sauce was good, though a bit too sweet. The rice noodles were excellent and tasted just like singapore mei fun, with a bit of curry flavor and a few veggies in the mix. I was pleasantly surprised by the overall quality for being a food court "Chinese" restaurant.“

“It's unfortunate to see a number of bad reviews here. This is my husband and I's favorite take out Chinese in the immediate area (general Colonial Park area)...and we have tried many. We have never had a bad experience here once. Not only do we prefer their food over others, but the prices are much more reasonable as well (and in this economy!)...

Perhaps our experience is different because we don't order delivery. We live within a 3 mile radius, and so it has always made more sense for us to just go grab the food ourselves (for us it just makes more sense: the delivery times are always longer than if you just get it yourself, and I have a vehicle and it's not a big inconvenience to me to just go grab takeout, so why pay someone to do something I can easily do myself?). So, I can't speak for the delivery service in my evaluation.

As far as the language barrier goes, I guess it's simply what I've come to expect when ordering from a Chinese (or Italian, or Indian, or whatever...) restaurant. I don't expect an exchange of communication on the same level of an American restaurant...and I don't need that. They're short and to the point, and for me, that's all I really need (I prefer to avoid all "obligatory" small talk, if I can help it, haha).

Until something gives us a reason, this will remain our "go-to" Chinese take out. As of now, I have no complaints and only positive experiences (and we've ordered here many times). So, I guess, you'll have to decide for yourself, but I'd say it's at least worth giving this place a shot!“

I am not a fan of fried rice, but I was absolutely blown away by the fried rice that came with the chicken, I would eat the rice by itself as a meal! “I don’t get the bad reviews because this is the best Chinese around. We typically get it delivered and it is always so delicious, fresh, and give generous portions. We never have had a bad meal here. They have great sesame chicken, General Tsos, broccoli with garlic sauce and beef and broccoli. The best of the best is their wonton soup ?! “Love, love, love this place!! When we first moved into our house almost 6 years ago, we were looking for our staple restaurant places (Pizza, Chinese, etc) and we tried China Tea House and have been going there ever since!!!
Their food is always on point with flavor and expensive selection (even though I order General Tso's almost every time). It's always piping hot when I pick it up and they are always the nicest people!

“Some things are a hit or miss but not that bad. I’ve been coming here since forever. Same menu same lady at the window. Don’t get the chicken noodle soup tho. That’s just a no. The chicken nuggets are tiny, wouldn’t recommend. If you get a combination dish with rice and let’s say beef and broccoli just know all the sauce from the beef and broccoli is gonna be soaking into your rice. Because they put the (COMBINATION) in one container. Meaning your rice might be soggy and I DONT like that.Not a fan of the hot n sour soup. It wasn’t the right amount of sour to sweet ratio I like.The people there are nice just be patient please. English is their second language. Even I, an Asian American struggle placing an order on the phone.“
