The hospitality from the owner and waiter is low grade. As much as as I want to support, I will never go back again. What's sad is that they do not realize how tacky and socially ignorant they are.
Amina's had friendly staff who greeted and seated us promptly upon arrival. Our server was professional, attentive, and engaging. The ambience fostered conversation with our group as we enjoyed a great selection of music. The food was unique and absolutely delicious, with very reasonable prices. The drinks were also excellent. Dinner at Amina's was a wonderful experience that we definitely want to repeat. We are glad to have supported this Black-owned establishment. Thank you to the owners and staff for a beautiful experience.
We enjoyed the experience. Carl the bartender is EXCELLENT! The drinks did not disappoint. We had plenty. Cameron the hostess at the door is the perfect person to introduce you to this experience. He is so welcoming and inviting. the r We had the ox tails and turkey wings. Chef’s KIDS! Dont forget the cornbread! I’ll definitely be back for the lamb chops.
This restaurant saved Philly’s food rep for me! Amazing food, music and vibe! I very much enjoyed everything we ordered. The bartender was great and kept us entertained with info on the city sights. The cheesesteak beniettes and oxtail were 10/10. Definitely a must if you’re in Philly.
Went without reservations on a Saturday night ~ 9PM. Place was packed and noisy. Wound up sitting at the bar (not first choice but only option) As far as 'Ambiance' goes- there is none. Too loud for any real conversation. Sitting at the bar, stuck with two Huge TV screens in front of us- the weather and women's golf- Really? I thought TV's were for sports bars, not dining out in a better restaurant. Ordered food and two seltzers w/lime. Bartender tried foisting an $8/bottle of seltzer on us- no go. Ordered Oxtails b/c of great reviews and the gumbo. Both dishes were delicious, great flavors. Gumbo had plenty of seafood in it and hubby was satisfied. Oxtails- despite the great flavor and yummy yam puree- this dish is WAY OVERPRICED @ $32! Oxtails have minimal meat, plenty of bone and collagen. There was about 3 forkfuls of meat total between the oxtails on my plate. The gentleman next to me ordered same and felt same way- more like a $20 small plate dish and that was pushing it. Ordered a glass of pinot noir w/o asking price- sticker shock! $16 for one glass of wine- it was a decent poor but that brand is $11/bottle. Bathrooms downstairs clean. Bartender and hostess friendly. Full tab: $80- did not feel it was worth it for the amount of food or the experience.
The service was phenomenal the wait to be seated was under one minute and the service was awesome. The food was very good I will go back and definitely recommend this resturant.
Another Brunch in the books and I am happy to report Amina delivered! The vibe begins with interior-the decor is done in a purposeful and elevated way that invites you to feel relaxed! What I appreciated was the attention the decor in the bathroom was great as well! The service was prompt and attentive throughout our mea! The drinks: perfection Appetizers: Deviled Eggs..that jam made it a flavor bomb! Our main dishes: Lobster Omelette; Chicken and Waffles & Shrimp and grits—all flavored very well! The Shrimp had a nice spicy kick which made them very savory! The desert of the apple cobbler was the only let down…it didn’t have a hard crust…had the consistency more of a pan cake vs. Pie! I will definitely be back to give dinner a go!
Our group dined at Amina Sunday, October 30th. The food was delicious. We had an awesome waitress. We will definitely here again.
