Banana Leaf is a dependable Malaysian spot in Chinatown. (Wish we had more Malaysian choices, but I digress!) The dining room is spacious, with +20 tables, and an open kitchen so you can watch the staff at work.

Usually I call in takeout orders for pickup, but I have stayed for a meal (usually with friends). Friendly service.

The inside is large and deceiving from the unassuming exterior. Walked inside to see plenty of seats as well as patrons. We were seated and served quickly.

Prices are good especially for sharing family style to try out different dishes. The roti canai was very flaky and thin yet not greasy at all which was very good. The food was absolutely excellent. Every dish hit the mark in terms of both taste and authentic flavor profile. On top of that, the portion sizes were incredibly generous and appropriate for the price—you definitely won't leave hungry.
