Unfortunately the other reviews are accurate. The bread we got was rock hard. The cookies too are unbiteable and flavor was pretty terrible. The cinnamon twist was edible and had good flavor. We found that if you soak the bread in soup, it becomes edible, and the flavors fine, but shouldn't have to do that. They really should experiment with some new recipes.
This bakery recently changed hands and its better than ever. With the new owner they are offering quite a few flavors of knishes. If you buy six you get one for free. We tried the potato and kasha and they were both great. They are a flavor of old world charm. Their seasonal honey cake was the best commercial cake we've ever had. All in all a wonderful experience. We'll be back soon to try their challah.

Happened upon the bakery where I went as a student at Sacred Heart. They still had the lg black and white shortbread cookies. Though not politically correct today they were called Chinese cookies. They were 25 cents then now they are close to 3 dollars I bought a dozen. They were heavenly shame famous deli is gone best corned beef specials in the city. Thank you Best Cake for the memories I’ll be back very soon
