Overall, average food and rude service. I placed a takeout order online, selecting the Fairmount location. When I arrived, they said they never received my order. After checking my email, I realized the order somehow (despite selecting Fairmount) went to their South Street location. Both locations were completely unhelpful. The Fairmount store just shrugged, and when I called South Street, they told me if I wanted my food, I’d have to come pick it up. The problem? South Street is on the other side of Philly, and it would have cost me around $30 just to go fetch it. When I explained the website issue about the website switching locations, the South Street staff were rude and dismissive and made no effort to make it right. They refused to give me any owner contact info unless I came to the store.
Ultimately, I had to report this to my bank for a refund. We used to go to the Fairmount location often as it’s close, but the food is average at best, but after this, we’re done. Also, check their health inspection reports—some findings are concerning (cross contamination, lack of hand washing stations, vermin). For the price, the service and food just don’t cut it. Won’t be returning.

This is my go-to spot for happy hour, mojitos, and good conversation. Always a 10/10, I’m never disappointed!! I love the staff at this location so much!!

Seriously cannot recommend this place enough!! My friend and I went for lunch and immediately felt welcomed, the atmosphere is amazing as well! They have beautiful decorated tiles behind the bar and beautiful unique chairs, along with many other wonderful decorations. The waitress could not be better with her service, being very patient when I needed lots of time to decide what I wanted. Our waters were refreshed by the gentleman behind the bar, who was extremely polite and kept a very warm smile the whole time. Our food was INCREDIBLEEE, I ordered beef empanadas, mexican rice, and my friend ordered the quesadilla. The food was out of this world, the chef deserves a raise! We made jokes that they put drugs in the food because of how amazing it was, will definitely be back!!!!

If you’re ever in the area and looking for the perfect margarita go see Margarita Maira! Her service was delightful and generous. When I come back to Philly I will be stopping by again.

If you’re looking for delicious Mexican food, drinks, and low key vibes. This is the spot. This is the second time I’ve been here. The first time was only for drinks at the bar but this time we sat and got some lunch. The carnitas chimichanga 👌 and the mezcal margarita was on point. Shout out to the entire staff, especially Maria who took care of us the whole time! As a NY-er that comes into Philly often, this will be my go-to that gets a return visit.

Fantastic time at Buena Vista on 9th!
Visited on a Saturday around 4. We had six people and had no issue getting a table. Literally everything we ordered was delicious! Our server, Maria, was a ton of fun and took great care of us. Will definitely go back next time I'm nearby!
