We ordered drinks and food. Passion fruit margarita was a great size and delicious/well balanced (salt rim), and the michelada was also really good according to the partner.
Ordered the camarones al cilantro (shrimp) and it was so good and perfectly cooked! Came with delicious beans, rice and a pico de gallo/chimole salad.
We’ve been trying to find a solid Mexican spot with some more authentic cuisine / more than tacos in the Philly area and this spot definitely hit all the notes for us!
The space is a bit smaller than expected but there is quite a bit of seating still and large bar! The servers are friendly & attentive and the food came quickly.
As far as authentic food goes, they serve Nopales, enough said. Food is great and the drinks are strong.
Stopped in for a beer while waiting on our cheesesteak from down the street. Ended up ordering empanadas and guac/chips. It was DELICIOUS. Chips were fresh and crispy, guac was perfect and the empanadas were tasty. A great quick little stop. Make your way down if you're in the area. No wait.
Delicious! I didn't strain them with my taco salad request but it was really good. The tacos al pastor were tasty and they give 4 of them. Good beer selection too. Friendly staff.
Great food. Great service. Very clean.
Quality food in a great atmosphere.
This place was a life saver. We tried to get Angelo's. But long wait. We came here and had great food and drinks. Everything was spot on. Great experience.
Was delighted to see such high marks/reviews.
Enchiladas al pastor were good.
Side Guac was very good.
Rice was underwhelming- not like any Mexican rice I've ever had at great Mexican restaurants.
However, buyer beware: Upcharges on menu prices without warning (menu listed my plate at 17... They charged 17.95 and attempted to charge an extra$1 for substitution of flour tortilla vs a corn tortilla-- only upcharges on menu were for mixed protein and cheese sauce, neither of which are a flour tortilla!--and a $2.50 cc fee that was OVER an 11% surcharge on my total bill. When brought to their attention, they corrected the upcharges after a long wait since clearly 'some oversight' but proceeded to argue that the 2.50 was an incurred Bank fee...
Anyone out there familiar with vendor CC usage fees? I am... And have NEVER seen a $2.50 flat rate on an $18 Bill!
Great location, though. Maybe I'll return for a Happy Hour.
Lesson learned: memorize what you 'should be' charged (I just have an uncanny memory for numbers) and bring cash!
We stumbled on this place after other dinner plans fell through and we are so glad we did! Beautifully decorated space, great service, yummy food and large serving sizes. Thank you for having us!
