“I chose to celebrate my birthday with brunch at Mamajuana based off of the social media posts I noticed on IG. Needless to say, it did not disappoint. My birthday brunch experience was amazing. The ambiance and energy were perfect. This is the exact vibe I was going for to celebrate my birthday. The service was great and I tried something different in terms of food which was also tasty. I highly recommend based off of my experience and would definitely return again. Shout out to Judy my hostess/server who was very attentive!“

“My family and I stopped in one day as we were in the neighborhood. It appeared as if they were about to close but still let us come in to order. They also let us in with our pup. Exceptional customer service from start to finish. The food was great and I have been ordering from them ever since. My favorites are the pollo guisado y arroz con gandules and salad. The grilled tilapia platter is also good and well seasoned. The passion fruit drink although pricey, is the best I’ve ever had hands down. You must try them out!“

“I have eaten here many times during the time I have spent here in Philadelphia…

I will be leaving Philly shortly, so I felt compelled to write a review about this restaurant….

Although I have basically tasted the entire menu, I would say that their Rabo Encendido (oxtail stew) has always been a standout; the meat falls off the bone and it is submerged in a rich, deeply seasoned sauce. Their Pollo Guisado (specially the family combo was always a home run)… If you’re looking for something that’s definitely a Dominican plate, I would recommend the Mofongo con Chicharrón, which I recommend eating it in house to enjoy it hot (don’t have this delivered)…. Make sure to get it with the accompanying broth (can be a little garlicky FYI).

As far as the ppl that work there…. Every single time the service was attentive and warm—the staff truly made us feel like family…

The prices are more than reasonable for the generous portions, though parking in this area can be a bit tricky because of the proximity to the city center. nonetheless, it’s a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Dominican home cooking.“

“If you're looking for a local business with affordable pricing, friendly Spanish speaking staff, delicious and satisfying meals, all in a nice setting then this is your spot!

The staff was really welcoming and friendly, taking the time to explain the menu options and pricing.

I ordered the stewed chicken ("Pollo al Orno" or "a la Olla") with white rice, yucca, and avichuelas (pinto beans). The chicken was packed with flavor. The beans were stewed until the broth was rich and savory (honestly my fave part so good). This came with a refreshing salad with purple cabbage and fresh lettuces. (it was colorful and crisp). To top it all off it was suuuuuper reasonably priced. $11 for a delicious and satisfying meal.

Vivaldi Restaurant has a sleek and modern aesthetic, but still comfortable. Everything was clean and well maintained so that always makes eating enjoyable and relaxing.

Wheelchair accessibility: The floor is smooth, clean, level, and flat.“

Like coming in to your Mother's kitchen and she asks you what you want to eat! It's a good healthy meal at a very reasonable price! There's always a line...But it moves really fast! El Placer Restaurant Dominican • $

“This is my go-to spot on a weeknight when I'm hungry, and want something delicious, fulfilling and cheap. Paying $10 for a huge chicken and rice platter full of sauce and flavor, beans and a side salad is a win-win on any day! They don't really speak English and I don't care! She knows me, I get my food and go home happy. You can dine in, but I wouldn't recommend it. lol Just get your food and leave. Don't go there expecting warm hugs and kisses and extravagant furnishings. The food is good and cheap. The end.“

“This place is an absolute gem. The $12 platters are an unreal value — generous portions that come with perfectly cooked rice, flavorful beans, and your choice of meat. Every platter is filling, fresh, and packed with authentic flavor.
The Pernil is tender, juicy, and seasoned to perfection. The Pollo Guisada is rich, comforting, and falls right off the bone — exactly how it should be. But the real star? The beans. Hands down some of the best beans I’ve ever had — deeply seasoned, smooth, and incredibly satisfying.
If you want real, home-style Spanish food that tastes like it was cooked with care (and doesn’t break the bank), this is the spot. Consistent, delicious, and worth every penny. I’ll be back again and again. 🔥🍽️“
