This Montreal native gives their bagels an A rating or 95%. It’s really close. I grew up with this. Even in Montreal the taste will vary though. I loved the chewy, wood baked taste. While here on holiday I do plan to stop by again.
Really good begals and sandwiches. I got the pastrami, egg, and cheese on an everything begal. Yum!
Spread Bagelry on 20th has been one of my neighborhood breakfast spots since 2017, and it never disappoints.
Before coming here, I’d never really experienced Montreal-style bagels, and now I absolutely love them. The wood-fired finish gives them a slightly crisp exterior while still staying chewy inside, and they’re equally great as breakfast sandwiches or with schmears.
