I was lucky enough to visit Vernick recently after a several-year hiatus and was absolutely blown away by the food and service.
My party of eight shared a number of dishes from each section of the menu. Some favorites included the tuna tartare and beet toasts, charred octopus, chilled lobster salad, salmon, halibut, dry-aged beef strip, and maitake and broccolini veggie sides. Despite being comfortably full afterwards after our mains, we also shared several of the desserts and—planning on just a taste—cleared every plate.
The space is so comfortable, both spacious and cozy and loud/buzzy while affording intimidate space for couples or larger parties. Most notably, the service is wonderful! Our server was so helpful, knowledgeable, and courteous, and went above and beyond to cater to our group’s dietary restrictions and allergies.
I really can’t say enough good things about my experience and hope to return soon!

The food was no less than amazing! The foie gras toast was the best foie gras we ever had ( and trust me, we had more than a few). The lamp seems to be simple but turn out to be great innovative combinations of taste and texture. The ghosting lights cocktail well balanced and tells a full story. AMAZING

Came here solo per a recommendation from the bartended at Friday Saturday Sunday. Had SUCH a good time! The salmon, sweet potatoe, chicken, Sazerac, and chocolate bitters cocktail were amazing! They also made me an off menu affogato for desert. Can’t recommend this place enough! Amanda the bartender was so great.

The atmosphere, service, and overall taste were all great, but the fish skin and the bottom part of the octopus were too burnt, leaving a strong bitter taste. A bit disappointing.

This restaurant isn’t on all the list and highlighted on all the TikTok videos (lately) but trust me this place has been one of the best in Philly for years for a reason. Can’t wait to come back to try the steak and the broccolini.

My partner and I had an excellent anniversary dinner here tonight. All of our food and drinks were delicious and the service was truly outstanding. The staff greeted us and wished us happy anniversary as we walked in and out and they were very attentive throughout the dinner. We have been to many restaurants in Philly and we thought this was really special.
