Dinner is always excellent here, but I especially wanted to recognize Alicia and Zack for making our visits truly memorable. We had them as servers on two separate occasions, and both provided outstanding service from start to finish. Their drink and dinner recommendations were spot on, and their friendly, engaging personalities made the entire dining experience even more enjoyable. We’re already looking forward to coming back and seeing them again!
I appreciate studio Ghibli being paid on all the TVs. The drinks were really great, and the food was pretty good. Wish the Cudo was a bit fresher and they had more meaty shrimps.
Great food with an even better team behind it. A cultural foothold in Philly- omakase side is even more impressive. The happy hour is also a hitter

Yanaga Kappo Izakaya is a Japanese restaurant and bar in NoLibs serving a unique blend of street food, raw fish, and eclectic dishes. The menu offers a variety of flavors with every bite, and the attentive staff is knowledgeable and helpful. The decor incorporates anime and Japanese culture, making for a fun and immersive experience. Prices are reasonable, especially during happy hour from 4-6 pm. Must-order items include shrimp nachos, rice crispy's, edamame, and pork gyoza. The Big Sushi/Nigiri/Sashimi Platter is also a solid choice. The atmosphere was intimate, the decor throughout was very cool. The menu is very fairly priced and the food was incredible. Chef Yanaga is an incredible chef, and his team exceeded expectations. The sushi rice was wonderfully seasoned. The salmon and preserved fat lines show great care and time preparing and preserving the fish. The wasabi is fresh.
