When I think of Polish Hill, the Rock Room is one of the first things that comes to mind. Such a great Pittsburgh dive bar, cheap drinks, good/cheap food, and pinball. Perfect place to grab a few drinks fuel up on some pierogies and maybe see a live show, as there is a small venue in the back by the pinball machines. It is smoker friendly so keep just that in mind, either way you should check it out if you haven't been.
Best dive in town. Good music, cheap drinks, and the bartenders are all fantastic. Everyone is super welcoming who frequents, you'll meet some of the most interesting people there.

Smoking bars are not ones I go to if I can help it but I was celebrating a friend's birthday and decided to just deal with it. A rowdy crowd for karaoke night. Didn't have any food or play pinball. Only one bartender but you'd get your drink eventually, just had to be patient. The place is very punk, but also seems to be the neighborhood watering hole bc there were several older folks at the bar who were clearly not part of the scene.
