About The Dog Penn
The Dog Penn Reviews
I love The Dog Penn for so many reasons. It's a safe dog park (vax requirements and scamp counselors), the owners are community minded (work with local businesses and rescues), and the atmosphere is incredible. Last night, I got a flat tire when I was leaving The Dog Penn. The owners did not hesitate to come outside and help me (well😅 being honest, do it for me) change my tire. They taught me a few things about my car and made sure I was safe to get on the road. Beyond the...read full review
This place is hands-down one of the best spots in the city — for both pups and people alike. The huge outdoor turf area is a dream come true for dogs to run free, play, and socialize safely off-leash. It’s like a mini dog paradise right in the middle of the city.
Inside, you’ve got a full bar stocked with great drinks and snacks, and the vibe is always top-notch. The music is always on point — the kind that makes you want to stay for “just one more.” In the...read full review

The Dog Penn is a bar that allows dogs, located in the Strip District of Pittsburgh. It combines a dog park and a bar in one space, making it perfect for dog owners who want to relax and socialize. The experience is unlike anything else in Pittsburgh. Everyone who works there cares about the dogs deeply, and the dogs all seem to love it. The place is super clean and well kept. The process to bring a dog is easy and organized, using an app to get the dog cleared. The space has a dog pool and plenty of space for dogs to run and play safely. All dogs are vaccinated and spayed or neutered. The atmosphere is friendly, with kind, easygoing dog lovers. The drinks are phenomenal, with options like Sauvignon blanc and a cocktail called the “Frenchie”. Tasty sandwiches are available. It is an absolute blast during the summer when everyone is outside, and it is also amazing when the weather gets colder, as dogs can play off-leash while owners stay warm and enjoy a drink. The owners are incredibly friendly. This is a fantastic hidden spot and a gem for people with a dog, missing their dogs, or just liking dogs.
