Jimmy's pizza is hands down the best I've had in Pittsburgh so far and I'm from Philly and have eaten pizza all over, including New York. For the 30+ ppl, each tray tasted homemade - like your family was serving the family classics. We had the most tender n juicy ribs (Carolina gold - 🔥), wings 🔥, mac 🔥, greens🔥, cornbread🤤.... and here's the best part - it wasn't heavy at all. “My husband and I have been going to the Village Inn for many years now. Everything we have eaten there has been so delicious from sandwiches to great Italian Food . My favorite is the stuffed crabmeat mushroom appetizer, bruschetta and Chicken Romano. The meatballs and pasta are so good. My favorite dessert is the Tiramisu. I highly recommend the Verona Village Inn.“

I sampled the cheese ravioli and it wasn't as good; the inside cheese and the outside cheese (common to both the cheese and beef ravioli) was a bit more than I would like. Maybe red sauce should be a written option for the cheese ravioli. Six of us enjoyed a range of food, from a simple burger to a very nicely prepared steak. “The service was fantastic! She was friendly, efficient, and patient with our table. I guess we picked the wrong day for a big group. It was their wing night. It was very busy. They had us sitting in front of the fireplace, which was very hot, and we were really crammed at our table. The appetizers were delicious, but my main course was a bit bland. I had the fettuccine with vodka sauce. It tasted much better as a leftover with garlic powder and parmesan cheese over it.“

“The owner was extremely friendly and made me feel welcomed. I told him I was in town visiting and that Wilkinsburg is my hometown but I live in FL. He was so kind and asked about how we did during the recent hurricane that had just passed. We exchanged information because I told him he’d be a huge hit here in central Florida. The seasoning is the best part, I always ask for extra in addition to buying a side of it so I can cover everything in it 🤣 I’ve tried quite a few of their seafood options- shrimp, cod, perch, catfish filet & nuggets- and have never been disappointed by any of them. The pick 2 combo with shrimp and catfish nuggets is my go-to though, best catfish I’ve ever had. Plus the salad,nacho,soup,dessert bar are fabulous!! The kids will definitely get full here, so worth the cheap affordable prices!! Adult meal plates look good and appealing I got a steak. “I arrived not long after they opened and I received the BEST meal I have ever had at a LJS. I've been a loyal customer for decades and since it is harder to find locations I go out of my way when I travel to get my fix.
The employee who packed my order was super kind and as I said the food was delicious.
My only issue is the condition of the store. And honestly this complaint goes for a number of locations left in the area. The store is in BAD shape. I've worked in food service for over 35 years and if the dining room that patrons see is in such a state of disarray then I can't even imagine what the kitchen and BOH areas look like. It would take a full day of deep cleaning, scrubbing and detailing to get the dining room to a somewhat acceptable level. The Butler location is bad too but not nearly as bad as this location but I will say the food at Butler left much to be desired the last time I was there.
I'm not in the Pittsburgh area much these days but if I do return I'll stick with the drive thru right at open in the hopes that I'm not reminded of the condition of the restaurant.“
