“Ali's Upper Crust on Highland ave in New Castle, PA is the best pizza in the area. The crust uses a raised dough not the flat lifeless dough used by Pizzaman or Little Johnnys. The sauce has great flavor. Not too tangy, or sweet, or tasteless. The cheese is genuine mozzarella, a great flavor to it. And a nice amount. Toppings, well, no anchovy, but the pepperoni is thin sliced and covers the pie. I've lived here two years now, and this is the first good pizza I've had in new castle. I generally will drive to Youngstown to get an Uptown, or Cornersburg, a Cocas or Belleria when I really want GOOD pizza. I finally tried Ali's, and I won't be doing that drive anymore. Seriously, I am not kidding, the best pizza in New Castle.“

“We've tried everything, and everything is absolutely delicious. So there's that. We usually get takeout when we order from Pizza Man's Pizza. And what's even more important (to me) than the great food is that they actually know HOW to wrap takeout properly. They line everything with paper and then foil to prevent the hot food from melting into the Styrofoam container. (Eating food that melted through Styrofoam is a health hazard.) So A+++ to Pizza Man's Pizza for fantastic food, the intelligence to wrap it correctly, AND for the wonderful staff. Everyone is always so nice and friendly. Side note: Try the wings. “Gluten free pizza was good; could use fresh basil instead of powdered and also the pasta sauce is not entirely the best reminds of of chucke e cheese pizza sauce. Which is not very good at all made me feel ill.

This pizza sauce was border line chuckee cheese. But overall it’s a good place if you want the usual.“

“My wife and I went to Venezia’s for lunch. It is a wonderful place! The pizza, stromboli, and salad were exceptional however, my reason for visiting this restaurant was not because of the food.

I spent 31 years in the United States Navy, serving several tours in both Iraq and Afghanistan. During one of these tours, the unit I was with received correspondence (letters and colored pictures) from a kindergarten class. To show my appreciation for their gestures and support, I ALWAYS try to personally thank the organization or person that sacrificed their time to recognize our efforts abroad. In this case, I met the teacher of this class at her restaurant, Venezia’s. Upon thanking her, she asked me if I would be interested in reading a book to her class, which I gladly accepted. It was a wonderful experience to say the least.

With an overall rating of 4.7, I did read a few of the reviews others had submitted prior to writing this. I came across two reviews below four, which was a one authored by Lewis Gordon. Mr. Gordon wrote, “I will refuse to purchase any more from this establishment since they support an insurrectionist, multiple indicted con man”, the other from Real J who wrote, “Highly overrated…best pizza in the world? I doubt even top 50 in just Pennsylvania”

Of my 20 plus deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, a few of my goals which motivated me were; take care of my teammate, make sure all of us came home safely, and to protect the rights of our citizen’s.

Specifically regarding The First Amendment, Mr. J’s comment regarding where this restaurant is ranked within the great state of Pennsylvania, is absolutely acceptable. It is his opinion, although I may disagree, his comment/s are his comments and are specifically related to the restaurant.

However, I THINK that Mr. Gordon’s statement regarding insurrectionism is unacceptable. Statements like this should be fact based.

With the actions of the owner taking time to send ‘The Troops’ correspondence, recognizing Red Friday (R.E.D), and coordinating a welcome home with a service member and their child. I am CERTAIN this establishment does not support, nor are they part of ANY insurrectionism movement.

This is MY OPINION. I fought for more than 20 years so Mr. Gordon could write whatever he likes however, it would be nice if some people would take a look at what their accusations are prior to hitting the send button.

“When you are craving Pizza Joe’s, nothing else will do the trick!! Their pizza is always hot, fresh, and so so tasty. I ordered an 8 cut Hawaiian Pizza with the intent to eat some for dinner and pack some in my lunch the next day. I just wanted it too badly and couldn’t stop eating. It never made it to lunch! I’m not sorry. I have never ordered a pizza (or anything) from here and felt dissatisfied. Dipping a heated pepperoni roll in their sauce is always a good idea. “So so local. Food is very good and reasonably priced. I miss the pies, but solid Italian staples. Good place to take the kids or mom and dad. I just did both. Chances are you will see a neighbor. I love the stuffed banana peppers, but it is hard not to get a calzone or pizza.“

“I came here for my birthday dinner and currently I am dairy free because I am nursing and my baby can’t have dairy. The waitress was very friendly and understanding that I couldn’t have dairy. She double checked all the dishes and ingredients with the kitchen to ensure there wasn’t dairy in the items I was ordering. “Nice little Christian Cafe. When I say that, this place will certainly be a comfortable spot for you even if you do not believe. There are Bibles and books and Christian material around in the peripheral. Not on the tables and there's nobody trying to convert you in there. It is a very comfy spot, well decorated and just Pleasant. The music has been neutral Jazz both times that I have been. Had me a proper fancy coffee and listen to some Miles Davis and John Coltrane. The profits of this Cafe benefit a local youth outreach as does the sandwich shop and the thrift store on either side. Highly recommended!“

“Food and Service was awesome! The manager lady was super friendly and helpful. Their wings are HUGE! Everything was HOT and was tasted good. This location does have sit down, but not really. There is no server so you have to order at the counter and they bring to you. They give you paper plates and plastic forks. Also, they do not have a soda machine so you have to buy pop from the cooler. All and all I would recommend for a fast dinner.“
