We were served with delicious rolls and as Pepsi fans were delighted that they offered that! My husband ordered cabbage rolls and was over the moon with how amazing they tasted. When I go to a place I’ve never been to I always get the turkey dinner if they have it. I asked before I ordered it if it was real turkey or deli turkey and I was told it was real. It came with a choice of potato, cranberry sauce, vegetable and homemade stuffing. For me the stuffing is the game changer. Everything was absolutely amazing!! We are absolutely coming back!”

Lynnie and Caroline have been part of my life since high school, and The Crossroads is where I learned so many of my early life lessons. But now, at 40, with a family of my own, it’s something even more important.
The Crossroads is one of my safe places.
It’s where I can be myself. No mask. No pretending. No editing who I am.
It’s always felt like home — like time somehow hasn’t changed us.
But last night, while celebrating my dad’s 75th birthday there, something hit me in a way it never had before. I looked around the room and had to hold back tears.
Because David was safe there too.
Most of you know Davey has autism. Restaurants are usually not safe spaces for us. There are often judgmental looks, impatient staff, and that familiar “autism mom” feeling of being watched and judged — even when he’s just quietly stimming under the table.
But last night was different.
David played freely.
He laughed.
He smiled.
He ate pool cue chalk… and no one charged me.
No one told me to contain him.
No one asked what was wrong with him.
No one stared.
No one made me feel like we didn’t belong.
Instead, our normal simply existed there.
Zurg and Buzz battled on the pool table.
Jumba wandered through the restaurant and bar keeping a watchful eye.
David stimmed loudly with two devices and ran joyful circles around the room.
And we laughed.
And now I’m crying the happiest tears.
Because my safe place…
is his safe place too.

“I hosted a 60th Birthday Party yesterday in Jake’s private front room / large enough for our 50 guests. We served wings, baked ziti, chicken cutlets, chicken marinara, scalloped potatoes, and salad. Everyone enjoyed the food, the lakefront view of Elk Lake, and the casual, relaxed, and clean atmosphere.Many friends stayed through the evening to enjoy drinks, live music, and a little pool in the main bar area.I highly recommend checking Jake’s out for your next event!”

“We just can’t get our timing right!! Always stealing away to the Waymart, off-season. We’ve HEARD, that they have an incredible outdoor grill setup…We’ve HEARD, that the Wrangler BBQ pit was custom made in Indiana…We’ve HEARD, that the cherry and applewood smoked meats are on display under their pavilion….But We’ve only been able to TASTE their winter options; an award-winning tray of Old Fashion square (sweeter sauce, two cheese blend), a toasted Cuban with seasoned gravy fries and a crock of French onion soup to boot. It really hit the spot as we split town for the Catskills, and began our journey with some NEPA non-negotiables. Guess we'll have to find our way back once the winter weather breaks.”

“AJ’s is the best place to go to have a great time and enjoy yourself. The bar staff is outstanding and extremely friendly. They works very hard running around all night during events serving drinks and food. Danny, one of the owner’s, is very accommodating to everyone. I like the fact that Danny joins in with all of his customers right on the dance floor then makes the dash to clean the tables off and make sure everybody has what they need. We’ve eaten there many times and the food is always great. Outstanding kitchen! I highly recommend going to a place that is fun to be at to have a good time. The bands that Danny gets are absolutely fantastic and top-notch. Give AJ’s a try for yourself. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.”

“We were introduced to a tasting of The Cashew Lounge on a wine train event we attended in Carbondale this past Fall. We have been wanting to get to the actual restaurant since then and decided it was a nice sunny Sunday why not take a ride today as we live about 40 minutes away. So glad we did, it was so worth the trip. The food was top notch, the service was fabulous! Everyone was attentive and knowledgeable and some of the friendliest staff we have ever encountered in a restaurant. The atmosphere was cozy and comfortable and clean! The food from appetizer to dessert was A+. We had the Buffalo Chicken Empanadas as an appetizer, homemade and sooo good!. I had the Gnocchi in Vodka Sauce as my entree and it came with choice of soup , I chose the Tomato Basil. Wow, no words , both were wonderful. My husband also chose the Tomato Basil soup and as his Entree chose the Chicken Parmesan over pasta which had a nice twist, it was served with Vodka Sauce instead of the usual red sause. He thought it was delicious! If you leave here hungry that's definitely on you, the portions are huge and we both brought home leftovers. We couldn't resist the Creme Brulee Donut dessert special OMG!! As a side note I never know what kind of cocktail I want order, so I simply said, surprise me with something sweet and fun! They sure did deliver , a chocolate covered strawberry martini , it was so yummy. Thanks for being so playful with my request, most places just kind of give me a look , lol. We even got to chat with the owner, such a nice guy! Thanks for a wonderful first experience, we will definitely be putting The Cashew Lounge on our restaurant rotation!!! Prices are certainly fair. Food tasted good. Portions are average for the price point. Service was friendly and fast. Really can’t say anything negative at all.

I had the country omelette. It’s not huge but it’s enough to satisfy. Corned beef hash side was you’re standard CBH from a can. Nothing special. My wife got the casserole scrambler, and she liked it. Good homemade sausage.

I’m not going to travel a half hour special to come here but it’s certainly good if you’re in town .”

“Dana is truly the queen of desserts. I had the opportunity to have two cakes made by her—both the same flavor—for my baby showers, and they were absolutely delicious. It’s very hard to find a baker willing to make a cake with passion fruit filling, and hers turned out amazing. Everyone at both baby showers was talking about how delicious and beautiful the cakes were. I’m very happy with my choice. She is very easy to work with, and you can truly see that she cares about her business.”
