“Food is good quality. On pricey side. Atmosphere and decor is great. Staff is attentive but short staffed. You really need to get their attention for them to come byParking: Free. Plentiful. A couple of handicaps, but not right by the entranceKid-friendliness: Yes. Spacious. No diaper change tables or counterWheelchair accessibility: Yes“
“We ordered takeout, so we can’t really speak to the atmosphere. I will agree with other reviewers- excellent selection of sushi rolls and sashimi. Really fresh, very tasty. Prices are very reasonable for the quantity and quality. I also ordered a hot dish which was very, very good- also tasted so fresh. I would definitely come back here and highly recommend this place!“
“This was my late mother's favorite restaurant, and also my teenage son's favorite restaurant. I didn't realize that they were going to close this beautiful location, so it was very special that we went there for my son's birthday celebration! They were slammed because of all the people who were trying to get one last amazing meal before they close on March 19, 2024, but the food remained absolutely amazing, flavorful, and beautifully presented! “
“The folks in this area were convinced that our sushi restaurants were great. They were wrong - until SU20 opened. Finally the real deal has arrived. Beautiful and generous plating, peak freshness and a creative menu of specialty rolls. Their desserts a perfection!“
“Every visit has been amazing! After every visit, I've realized we were so excited when we got the sushi that I didn't take a single picture of it.This happened yet again tonight... so here is a picture of our receipt and our sushi loving adorable son! We'd get all these rolls again, the last few visits we've gotten the Amazing Tuna and the Geisha rolls while trying a rotation of their other specialty rolls. The Amazing Tuna~ has the BEST sauces 100%Geisha~ great texture, nice go to rollAsuka Bazooka~ we tend to like creative flavor melds but we never would have thought of adding bacon to sushi before and it really works. The jalapeños were a bit spicy, but it was well balanced.Three Musketeers~ visually it looks like too much to tobiko but when you eat a piece it melds perfectly with the quantity of fish in the roll.Tempura Lobster~ was good and exactly as described. It just maybe needed another layer of flavor or texture to really make it sing like the other rolls we enjoyed. The best part of the night was when our son got 'hired' to advertise! He truly does Eat. Sleep. Sushi. Repeat. and he LOVES the Poseidon sushi. The server and manager were great, esp with him.Our drinks were never empty, and they did a wonderful job being present without being intrusive. Can't wait to come back!“
“First time here. More like 4.5 stars. Overall, I like this place. It’s well decorated—interior design is thoughtful and tasteful, not tacky. It shares parking in the back with several other small establishments. Today it’s pouring outside, so it’s extra quiet. Yet I can imagine parking may be challenging on a sunny day.Food-wise, I think their sushi rolls are better than their ramen—I’m just not into their noodle’s texture. Their sushi rolls are of decent size and quality in their respective price category.Service is friendly. My only reservation today is: The restaurant is noticeably cold, as if they didn’t turn on the heat.“
“The sushi was really good. We had the red dragon roll and another combination roll with eel that were delicious. The staff was really friendly. The dining room is very casual and more like you'd find at a dinner, but it was quiet, so it was a nice place for conversation.“
“Found amidst other small businesses and shops in the heart of Bryn Mawr, Yamazaki Ramen might just be the cozy culinary hideaway your taste buds need. It's a modest space, sure, but what it lacks in grandeur, it compensates with a soul-warming embrace, a friendly nod, and bowls of ramen that could easily steal the show in any food lover's heart. Now, let's talk about the star of our gastronomic journey--the Yamazaki Special ramen. This bowl is more than just a meal; it's a warm embrace on a cold day, a melody of flavors that sings a harmonious ode to traditional Tonkotsu ramen. With its rich pork-bone soup, tender roast pork, and an ensemble of bamboo shoots, kikurage mushrooms, red ginger, scallions, and a perfectly poached egg, it's a dish that doesn't just satisfy hunger; it nourishes the soul.Alongside this noodle nirvana, we ventured into the realm of the Gyudon Rice Bowl. Here, we found a comforting assembly of sliced beef, onions, and pickled ginger atop a bed of rice, all gently hugged by a sweet dashi sauce. The seasoned boiled egg added a nice touch, though the dish played more of a supporting role to the show-stopping ramen. It's still a solid choice for those craving a bit of variety, offering a satisfying culinary experience.Yamazaki Ramen stands as a testament to the joys of simple, heartfelt cooking. In this unassuming spot, you'll find dishes crafted with care, flavors that linger long after the last bite, and a reminder of the quiet power of a well-made bowl of ramen. So, if find yourself in Bryn Mawr and in search of a quick & tasty bite, Yamazaki Ramen checks all of the boxes.“
“Food quality and value was good. Restaurant had a high end feel. Only minor negative was when we arrived 90% of the restaurant was empty and we were told to sit at the sushi bar because they were expecting a wave of reservations. However by the time we finished our meal the restaurant was 80% empty so we definitely could have sat at a table. The menu has a lot of good options so we will definitely return.“
“The food and service was phenomenal, the food came out so fast and right after we finished with our appetizers our plates were replaced. The sushi was so fresh and the presentation was beautiful! So happy to have found this place!! Can’t wait to come “
“Excellent quality sushi! My family ordered a couple sushi combos and a special roll and everything was super fresh and absolutely delicious. Best sushi I had on a long time (inmy opinion, in terms of ramen and sushi it beats some otherJapanese restaurants in the area)“
“My go-to in the food court! They have the sweetest staff. Although the food may seem pricy, they give a GREAT portion that could last two meals. Fish is fresh, and they load your bowl up pretty well. Love their boba as well - I usually stick to the fruit teas, but you get a lot for the price, and it’s really good :)“
“I’ve been coming to Blue Fin for years (even when they were located previously on Germantown Pike). After all these years, the food and the service has not changed – it’s wonderful. I had to write a review and really sing Blue Fin’s praises after my most recent visit. For my 40th birthday last week, I wanted my birthday celebration at Blue Fin with my closest friends. There were 7 of us and we were really loud (so sorry)! The chef brought out the sushi and very politely, asked us to bring the volume down. He was super sweet with his approach. The restaurant closed at 8:30 and we were there till 9:30, everyone had left.I really could not thank Blue Fin enough for their patience on a loud Wednesday night. They really went above and beyond. The sushi is dynamite too, best in the area. My go to’s for the last 15 years: Wasabi shumai, Davitch roll and No Name II.Thank you BlueFin, for everything! (PS, we did tip well.. a dollar a yell).. lol“
“The Braised Short Rib is beyond perfection. I truly mean perfect. The food overall was amazing. I was surprised the drinks were not good. Most things just taste like lemon juice and one drink was so bad I left it full. I will say their chilled saké is good. Great food, great service. Will be back again for sure.“
“We held the MOST beautiful bridal shower at Veekoo! The manager and staff were exceptionally accommodating, the event was lovely and the food - as always- was SUPERB!Thanks Veekoo!Dietary restrictions: Able to devise a menu for guests who were vegetarian, and who did and did not eat sushi“
“I came here on a cold rainy day and had the coziest experience. The service was wonderful and they offer complimentary iced barley tea. I ordered the shrimp yakisoba and it was the perfect meal for that weather! I was so hungry I didn’t think to snap photos but maybe next time (because I shall return!).“
“Located in a small strip center with a small parking lot and across the street from a much bigger lot, Osushi is a gem. We arrived for a late lunch. We started with the tofu miso soup (would prefer more tofu) that was tasty and a larger than typical serving. The tuna dumpling, tricolor tobiko roll, and the Naruto roll are pictured. The tuna dumpling included mango which compliments the overall taste. The visual appeal of every dish was outstanding (see the attached pictures). While a bit pricey, there's no denying the quality.Parking: There's a single line of parking in this steep center with a much larger public lot immediately across the street“
“Best sushi in town! The chef told us they import all fish from Japan and he was trained in Japan for nearly a decade. Rarely see a sushi chef take making sushi seriously in the area. Hope they will move back to their old but bigger place soon.“
“The food and service were amazing here! My boyfriend and I went on a late night post workout date night here. The host/server greeted us with a smile, and came to take our order pretty fast. She asked us how we were doing, and we had a friendly conversation. She was great at giving helpful suggestions on what to order. The ramen is fantastic here! The sushi, pork dumplings were delicious! The bubble tea, and desserts were great as well! All in all, our experience there was amazing and I would highly recommend it! We enjoyed listening to the music that the restaurant played as well!“
“We ordered on DoorDash. The bag was stapled at the top to be held upwards but the food was sideways. My rolls got soaked in sauce. Not a terrible thing but I’d prefer they were crispy. Highly recommend a different bagging/to go technique. The food was delicious nonetheless. I enjoyed everything in my bento box. The miso soup was good too. The dumplings were tasty but i had to pick out the beans/green vegetables was on it. Personal preference but other than that i will definitely order again. The salad was good wish it were more but it was a lunch combo so not complaining at all. Their ginger salad dressing was amazing.“
“We were traveling through and hit the jackpot here. Crab Rangoon and Egg roll were very good. But the sushi stole the show! Spicy salmon crunch was very good...the dynamite was exceptional...we all agreed the New Year was our favorite. There were so many other items we wanted to try. Great food. Great friendly service! Thank you!“
“I’d heard about Ronin from a previous manager who would order their sushi and it always looked good. I was in the mood for Ramen and they came up in my search. It was a small shop, nicely decorated. Most people came for take out, there was a couple dining in when I arrived so it was nice and quiet. The food service was quick, everything we ordered was delicious and flavorful. My bf ordered the shrimp and veggie tempura bento box, and a chicken katsu bao special. I ordered the Crazy Boy roll special and Shimp Tom Yum ramen. Highly recommend this place if you’re in the area.“
“For Valentine's Day, I wanted to celebrate by going to a sushi restaurant. I'd never been here before, but I'd heard good things from a couple of friends and decided to give it a go. When I came, I was greeted by a young girl, who was very friendly and welcoming! Although it took us a while to be seated, the servers were very nice and made sure to check in on me frequently. Like the service, the food was also great! The stone pot bibimbap was delicious, and anyone who goes there should definitely try it out. Overall, 10/10 experience!“
“My friend had a craving for Korean food so we tried August Moon. We had a wonderful experience. Our waitress was so friendly and attentive. The food was delicious. My friend and I shared the vegetable pa chun, soon do boo, and bulgogi. The cook and spice was on point. We left feeling completely stuffed and satisfied.“
“Loved the aesthetic and delicious sushi! The fish was quality! A lot of sushi places around here can get pretty crazy with what they put on rolls but Miyake has knocked it out of the park with its wonderfully balanced rolls. We didn't partake in the specials but it looks like they frequently change things up so we should always have something fun to try!“
“Can't say enough about the quality of the cuisine. By far, best sushi I’ve had in the Philly metro area. Fresh ingredients, the sushi and sashimi melts in your mouth, hot food is well plated visually for presentation, delicious and flavorful. Whether you are getting the sushi or a hotly prepared dish, its all a 5.0. Of course, you stay in business long enough, something won't always be a 5.0 or 4.9, but that is where customer service comes in. Cassie and Eric will attempt their best to make it right, to ensure customer satisfaction. Been going to Kumos for 10 years. On occasion have tried other sushi restaurants, keep coming back to Kumos, just can't quit them!“
“I love Kawa. It’s my favorite sushi restaurant so far and I’ve gone to tons of sushi restaurants in the past and in Japan. The presentation is beautiful, the servings are healthy, and the rice is just ?? delicioso. The servers are so kind and attentive. We love them. Also shoutout to the sushi chefs for being so talented and awesome. We always get their Toro and Uni sushi. Next on the list is hamachi, smoked salmon and tamago. Everything we’ve had was delicious and we’ve never been disappointed with what we end up getting. The only thing that sucks is when my gf and I are craving Kawa and we realize it’s Monday…We also try to limit going there to only once a month but we always break the rule.“
“You can tell it is more a grab and go type of place for the college folks but our dine-in experience was great nonetheless! Staff was so kind, attentive, and food came quickly. Sushi was amazing and amazing, I enjoyed my miso soup, and my husband and I shared some edamame.Definitely would recommend for anyone looking for some sushi in the neighborhood! Mango Tango and Holiday rolls were my favorites!“
“I love the food at East Cuisine! It is always fresh, and the servers are exceptional! I bring my ninety nine year old father here. He loves the shrimp tempura appetizer. Very generous helping! He also loves the miso soup.Parking: Plenty of spaces“
“Perfect pairing of quantity and quality. I was so good! How can you go wrong with an amazing dinner for under $15?! I had the hibachi chicken and steak. Steak was cooked to order (med. well). Chicken and fried rice was really good as well. This place is on my way home from work. I will be back… often.“
“You're in for a real treat! The plates here are an amazing mix of flavors and textures that cater to everyone's taste buds, from the little ones to the grown-ups! And let me tell you, the attention and service are simply outstanding! You won't be disappointed!“
“A very nice, quiet, casual eatery in Media, PA. A great place to meet when you want to enjoy a lovely meal, and be able to have a conversation at the same time. Unlike most area restaurants with loud background music or bands. The food is spot on, fresh and delicious. The service is wonderful. All staff are delightful and caring. Additionally, they make one Hell of a delicious Asian Pear Sakatini! :)“
“I have been eating at Kabuki for along time. There food is so good, there is no reason to try anywhere else. The chef specialty rolls are bomb! My favorite is the shrimp tempura supreme roll, delicious! The service is always top notch. The employees are respectful and polite. The owner Kenny is a stand up guy and runs a great business.“
“This place is so good! We were so hungry and we got our appetizers quickly. This is a wonderful go-to place with a soothing atmosphere and consistently excellent food, whether sushi or from the kitchen.Vegetarian options: Lots of items with veggies and tofu!“
“Small nitpicks: This restaurant is 100% a blink and you miss it on the road. Parking isn’t great.Despite that, the food is excellent and reasonably priced. They’ve got great desserts and their cocktails are fantastic. I will be back as this may have become my new go-to restaurant for sushi.“
“Kabuto has a fun, friendly, family atmosphere. The food is delicious, and you’re going to have a great time, you will definitely be entertained and well fed. The specialty cocktails are just as delicious as the food. You should definitely expect to leave with leftovers, the portions are very generous!Parking: It’s in a strip mall, parking is easy.Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly, they have a kids menu, and will give the kids special attention.“
“Great food. Very nice atmosphere. Reasonable prices and everything is super fresh. Something you absolutely want when dining out for sushi. Located in delightful downtime Media on State Street. Perfect for any type of celebration or date night. Enjoy!Vegetarian options: My son and I shared the vegetarian mango/avocado roll, and it was fantastic!“
“Just moved into the area and couldn't find a good restaurant with real authentic chinese food until I came across New Leaf. The food is always great and I am never disappointed, price is fair, parking outside & the customer service has always been pleasant. Would recommend this place to anyone who lives around the area looking for real authentic chinese food without having to go into chinatown.“
“I really like this restaurant. I went out with my family.it was a great experience.my family really enjoyed it.it was cheap but great.it takes a couple of mins but it looks really fresh.if your unpatient you might not like this restaurant.if you are you would probably will hopefully.if you like fortune cookies you get them before you even ask them, they can read your mind! So yeah I really recommend this restaurant if you are a chicken or sushi person.this is my I recommend this restaurant.“
“Awesome hibachi grill!!! Very friendly and entertaining hibachi chef! Friendly wait staff! Excellent service and food! Clean restaurant! Romantic and fun atmosphere! Clean restrooms. Plenty of parking in a free parking lot. Cool restaurant vibe. Great for friends, family, and date night! We got the hibachi salmon, white tuna, and veggie dishes with fried rice, side salad, and side soup! All fantastic! Well cooked and delicious! The show was amazing! Definitely recommended and would eat there again! The family across from us had two small kids, maybe their children were 7 and 10, they loved it too! It’s BYOB so bring your own alcohol.Vegetarian options: You can get vegetarian hibachi dinner, all vegetables with fried rice is deliciousDietary restrictions: They have dietary options for vegetariansParking: Large free parking lotKid-friendliness: Kids love the hibachi grill show! And they love the fried rice and chickenWheelchair accessibility: It is wheelchair accessible“
“One of our favorite places in Bryn Mawr. The food was absolutely spectacular and our server was absolutely delightful. they had something new on the menu and the enthusiasm of our server convinced us to try it and she was absolutely spot on! We also got the Bryn Mawr roll, because we were there to drop our youngest off at Bryn Mawr for freshman year. We ended up ordering two rounds of rolls and man do I wish I had room for more because they were ALL fantastic, but I am still drooling over that Bryn Mawr roll. It's not the most "exciting" but it was just PERFECT. I really can't wait to go visit my kid and go to Sushi Land again!!!“
“Super nice sushi spot! The presentation is crazy.... Our sushi was like diagonally stacked on a beautiful log lol. It's a bit much but it's fun. The kimchi rice was out of this world. I love a nice raw yolk slathered on my rice - a real treat. Definitely order this with your sushi instead of eating just sushi. Definitely pricey af. The rice was a regular portion for $16 before tax. That's meh. The sushi is expensive but all sushi is. Honestly it was so good but really expensive. Not sure how I feel about that. Service was 10/10. Definitely worth a try.“
