“Beautiful decor, very cozy and ambient. Our server was very nice and helpful, as my daughter and I have never been there. Chef Tony made us delicious sushi rolls and plated the sashimi beautifully. We had dessert, they have a variety of mochi and I had the tempura ice cream.. omgoodness it was so delicious! “My family and I had an incredible dining experience tonight at Umai. We had a special, Kinmedai aka Golden Eye Snapper that was so fresh and tasty, out of this world good! We also had a treat with broiled tuna cheek that was also outstanding. Otoro was so velvety and rich, spicy hotate, sweet ebi, unagi, fried crabs, incredible sushi rolls, savory Akadashi (my son ordered a second it was so good) and everything else we ordered tonight was just incredible. Thanks so much to Rae and his wonderful staff for one of the best meals I've ever had - the best sushi in this area for sure and such friendly excellent service to accompany it! 🙂 Thanks for such wonderful hospitality and all the extra goodies Rae. I had a bowl of spicy tonkatsu And a cucumber avocado roll. Both dishes were perfect. They may have some of the best jammy eggs I've had in ramen before. Place it top shelf all the way and cannot recommend enough.“

“I have nothing but great things to say about this restaurant! The sushi was very fresh. The Philadelphia roll was great - not fishy tasting like some other restaurants are. Other rolls we ordered and enjoyed thoroughly were the volcano roll, shrimp tempura roll, and California roll. The spicy kani salad and mochi were great too. The service was great. “I'm shocked I do not have a photo of the Salmon Bento that I have gotten at least 20 times already. I usually have it delivered via Uber Eats and it's so good that I dive right in when I get it! It comes with perfectly cooked salmon on a bed of sauteed broccoli and onions in a yummy teriyaki sauce. The sides are shrimp and veggie tempura, gyoza, California rolls, and white rice. You know when you find that one go-to restaurant that eases even the worst day at work? Sakura is that restaurant for me!

If you want the bento at a cheaper price - try the lunch specials; it's equally delicious!

I highly recommend this place and will continue to order hopefully for years to come!

“My daughter said that she was looking to have sushi for lunch today, so we decided to give Herosame in Ardmore a try. Wow, this is one of the best sushi meals we've had in the Philly area and definitely on the Main Line. I called in our takeout order and the server who took our order was very friendly and polite as was the server who brought us our order while we waited in the vestibule. We ordered the Lunch Shrimp Teriyaki Bento Box and the Lunch Triple Roll Combo. Wow! I thought they had accidentally give us another person's order as the bags were quite heavy. Both lunch specials could easily be split over two meals or at least a meal and a leftovers snack. The Lunch Shrimp Teriyaki Bento Box included a small house salad, a pint of Miso Soup, 2 Shumai, a California Roll, 6 large Teriyaki Shrimp and a pint of steamed white rice. The salad was a crisp and refreshing spring mix with thinly shredded carrots and a halved grape tomato with a delicious dressing. The Miso soup was very rich and tasty. The Shumai were delicious with a nice crisp exterior, but soft, tender and enjoyable meat inside. The California Roll was huge and stuffed with super fresh crab stick and vegetables topped off with tobiko. The Teriyaki Shrimp were just a hair overcooked, but still delicious. The Three Roll Lunch Combo featured a choice of three rolls from a list of twenty different rolls so my daughter picked the Shrimp Avocado Roll, Tempura Roll and Philly Roll. All three rolls, just like my Bento Box's California Roll were huge with the Shrimp Tempura Rolls being gigantic. One piece of the tempura roll was at least twice the size of other sushi rolls I've had. Each roll was stuffed with the traditional meats and veggie fillings. Everything was so fresh and delicious! Herosame will definitely be on our family's list for future Japanese lunches and dinners!“

This seems to be a family owned well run restaurant
After landing in philly and resting a few hours i walked to the acme from my airbnb for wine and minor things but i saw fuki sushi was across the street along side the peruvian chicken joint. I got a couple pieces of chicken from the peruvian chicken joint (i will review them on another post) and i decided to eat at fuki sushi and let me say i was no ways disappointed. This joint is slamming and smacking. I had a Japanese lycee soda (with the marble in it) but i lost the smacker for the marble so the waiter said i will bring you another no sir just charge me for both and we good. I love lycees but this had the slight flavor of lycee but it will have to do until i get back to the east.
The food
I had pan fried chicken pot stickers which were so delicious
I had the dragon roll sushi which was busy spicy hot and flavorful
It was all so good
This place was busy with lots of take out orders
But i recommend grabbing a table
Eating and enjoying the meal immediately
I will return before i leave but this place is a 5 star joint

“New Leaf is a Manayunk staple for sushi and Asian cuisine. I’ve ordered delivery and dine-in, and it’s never disappointed.

I’ve never sat at the bar, but I wonder if it’s good. It looks like a decent spot, maybe next time I’ll check it out!

“I’ve been frequenting this place since early 2000’s and their consistency and simple elegance of their sushi is simply phenomenal. Even Hawaii doesn’t offer such delicious sushi without making you pay 100’s of dollars for even the mediocre. Cho Cho San is incredible, can’t give it anything less than a 10/10“

“Food was extremely good with really good prices. Portions were big and food tasted authentic, the seafood in particular was fresh when we got it and felt homemade in all the best ways possible. Cashier was also very helpful with helping us understand the menu and even let us place an order over the phone in advance! Definitely would recommend!“

“First impressions, trying to park was a bit confusing I still don't know if parking where I did is right. there is a small area around the restaurant that seems like it could be parking but no lines or guidance out front. Also this place is really small looking on the outside. As soon as I walked in it felt really awkward.i almost walked back out because everyone was just staring at me. Finally after what seemed like forever the sushi chef greeted me. When I was seated the waitress took my order and served me promptly. The miso soup was delicious. The edamame tasted fresh. The prices are a bit more than what I'm use to. I also had the sushi and sashimi lunch combo. The fish tasted very fresh and cleaned very well. Which explains the price. I would come back. Give it a try.

Parking: Unsure of the actual parking situation. Nothing is marked it was weird for me parking in front of the restaurant“

“Solid neighborhood take-out spot. What I personally like about South Ocean in Flourtown is the variety of Asian cuisines: Chinese, Japanese, & Thai. You can order sweet and sour chicken, or sushi. My go-to dish is the green curry; either with chicken or with vegetables. Very nice staff, quick pick-up, and fairly priced. 👍🏻“
