“Waited 40 minutes for hush puppies while the restaurant was nearly empty at 3pm. Primary food order came 5 minutes later and my son’s order was wrong. It’s a shame because the food is good. But the service has been so slow both times I’ve been here. They did comp his meal. Just expect to wait a while and enjoy your drinks. Don’t come if you’re in a hurry.“

“I cannot rave more about our experience today. The manager Steve returned my call right away when booking for my larger party … it was clear he is super well-organized. Service with Chris was exceptional. Everyone loved the food & drinks ~ plenty of tasty options for vegetarians and folks with Celiac’s. This continues to be my go-to restaurant in WC! Thank you!“

“AMAZING experience! Our bartender Leah was incredibly attentive, kind, and friendly. She made me this delicious fall cocktail, 10/10, highly recommend!!
Since it was Tuesday, Leah even offered to put on Dancing with the Stars for us, which was so thoughtful and fun.

“Wonderful meal! Delicious small plates that we shared. Especially loved the bruschetta! All of our party of 4 loved our entrees. Rosemary rack of lamb crusted with honey goat cheese was excellent. Beautiful ambience subdued and classy yet unpretentious. Chris was our waiter…tops in every way. Just the right amount of attention. Spence Cafe remains to be our favorite West Chester restaurant.“

“Bar Avalon always delivers! The food, service, and ambiance are consistently amazing. We tried the wine and dinner pairing for the first time last night and were blown away—perfectly matched courses and a knowledgeable waitress made it a standout experience. A perfect date night. “First time here. Good food and service! Only 'ding' is alcoholic drinks were weak and, the vanilla gelato did not taste like it but more likely ice cream. Gelato is creamier than ice cream. And it was not a scoop but more like 2 tablespoons. For $3, would expect a little more 'gelato'. Overall, good experience and would try again.“
