“We have always gotten our special occasion cakes here. They have always been decorated beautifully and tasted amazing. Just recently, our kids got my retirement cake here. It was moist and tasted wonderful, but the decorating was disappointing. Icing colors were dark and the writing left much to be desired. Icing flowers weren't that great.They used to have a lady that wrote in calligraphy and the cakes were decorated so beautifully, that you didn't want to cut it!! They used to decorate with the most beautiful flowers and ask you what kind you wanted on the cake. We were disappointed with the decorated part...not the taste of the cake.“

“I check the weekly offerings and try to plan a trip when something sounds appealing. I will say that I have enjoyed 95% of the ones I tried. You can't go wrong with the semi-sweet chocolate chip. The pineapple upside down cake was delicious. The orange creamsicle flavor was spot on. They recently had a peanut butter crisp cookie featuring Butterfinger. It tasted like the candy bar in cookie form.“

The doughnuts are always fresh, soft, and Prantls’ has an assortment of flavors so no matter what I’m in the mood for, they have it covered. They also made delicious Lady Locks with pink filling, chocolate covered oreos with pink stripes, mini cupcakes with wonderfully colored icing and thumbprint cookies decorated with pink and white jimmies and filled with pink and white swirl icing. Erin was wonderful! She brought out the reading trackers for all our students, and surprised us with their yummy Bundt cakes for our staff! “I would not expect to enjoy gluten-free bread, however, a chance encounter with Wild Rise’s Sourdough bread was a surprising epiphany. Toasted, with peanut butter or almond butter, and a little honey, it’s an incredible lunch. And I’m used to eating gluten rich breads, and meats for lunch. I can truly say the flavors and textures are as satisfying to me as what I normally eat for lunch… I am amazed! Give this stuff a try!“

“We celebrated my Mom's 90th birthday last week and the staff at Paddy Cake Bakery did a stellar job for us. They made a delicious full sheet cake and included a photo of our Mom and matched the colors of the flowers to the photo. They also offered a very convenient service and delivered our cake to the Shop N Save on Babcock Blvd. closer to where the party was (off McKnight Road). The cake looked and tasted amazing, very moist and flavorful and was split into chocolate and white cake. We wanted to be sure we had enough cake for all of the residents and staff where our Mom lives and the full sheet cake served about 65 to 70 people. Highly recommend Paddy Cake Bakery.“

“Cakes by Colby made what seemed like a difficult choice a super easy one! From moment one walking in the door, you could see the artistry in her work and where her specialties lay. The tasting was a delight, and if anything we ate waaaaay too much while were there, but it was all so incredibly good! Fast forward to the wedding day, everything went off without a hitch and the cake was absolutely gorgeous! She took reference images we provided and went above and beyond, it was elegant without being pretentious and truly lovely on top of being delicious as well. Our guests raved about it too. “Been in Oakland for a few years and Sidecar is my go-to cafe for myself and to meet up with friends. The food is phenomenal, their baked goods are perfection, and the drinks are delicious. Special shout out to the barista Em for making some of the best coffees I’ve ever had and always having great drink recommendations and such cheerful, professional customer service. The entire place is decorated so cutely with their signature mugs and wall art (please start selling the mugs!) and their iconic mirror wall. I recommend Sidecar whenever a friend mentions they want to get coffee, and I always recommend the Pittsburgh Smog tea and cinnamon rolls.“
