“Skipped breakfast so I was halfway looking for a brunchy option when I stumbled into El Tikal. With a quality lunch special section, plus your everyday Mexican favorites and a great variety of meat, seafood and veggie dishes, I had a hard time deciding. I'm usually a combo order kind of guy, but I had to throw together my own little lunch variety pack, add Santa Fe (breakfast) burrito. Plantains always hit for me, but these were extra caramelized and gooey so I had to portion them out between the beginning and end of the meal. The mole sauce on the chili relleno was smokey and not as spicy, but really well-balanced. The tamale with red sauce seemed less flavorful than the other dishes, but I'm no tamale expert and I've been hanging out with a lot of Italians recently. The Santa Fe burrito was out of this world: the eggs, nice and crumbly with tons of seasoning and flavor, the cheese-covered chorizo oozing into each bite. I need this again, and I'm sure there's so many other incredible things on the menu to explore, but this is truly a hearty and unique item worth coming back for.”

“On a busy night definitely expect to wait a little bit, but let me tell you it is worth it. The chimi was fantastic plenty of flavor. The Colombian salchipapa was ok, chicken was a bit dry but the sauce and the condiments compensated everything else well. The chimi is what will make me go back. 10/10”

“I grabbed a hoagie from Vino’s yesterday and it did not disappoint. The roll was fresh and perfectly soft with a slight crunch, packed generously with thin-sliced meats and super fresh, finely shredded lettuce. The balance of flavors was spot on, the meats were flavorful, and every bite tasted like a classic, well made deli sub.

It’s the kind of sandwich that looks good the second you unwrap it and tastes even better. Definitely one of the best hoagies I’ve had in a while. Highly recommend! 🥪✨”

“This halal cart is a quick and convenient stop for lunch or dinner. Stopped there while driving through and they are conveniently located at a gas station, so parking is no issue. As for the food, would recommend the chicken gyro. It was very flavorful, and I enjoyed the twist that the BBQ sauce brought.”

“We had an overall good experience. Our wait staff was wonderful! Detailed, attentive, unassuming. The young men that were clearing or filling water were excellent too. Our food was delicious. However, it was my mother-in-law’s first visit. She has ambulation issues and walks slowly. We entered the casino floor which is gated off from the shops and restaurants. We did not realize we could not enter the restaurant from our position without going back to the front entrance. There was a gate located about 20 ft from the restaurant and I had hoped that if we asked them to open it for a disabled patron they may be able to help. I called to the (5 or 6) women behind the host station. They looked at me and ignored me. I called out again and a woman came out to talk to us. It was obvious she was unhappy to help. I asked if the gate could bel opened to allow my mother to cross the isle without going all the way back. She (later found out her name was Dawn and she was one of two managers) was dismissive, short and offered no assistance, no empathy. And she finished by saying “this IS a casino”. Which I found insultingly obvious. I suspect she didn’t realize we had a reservation. I suspect Dawn didn’t realize we were going to be her customers. I didn’t mention it - but shouldn’t they be hospitable to even the casino goers? It’s wasn’t a big deal in the scheme of life. But it did put a dark cloud over our dinner. I’ve been to Ruth Chris many times at many different locations. I’ve never been treated poorly. I won’t be returning the Wilkes-Barre location.”

“I had just missed my flight back home and after 5 hours at the airport things began to look rather grim. I then decided to take a walk and by complete luck happened to use this location as a pickup spot for my Uber. What started as me wanting a small snack then turned into a newfound appreciation for Somali cuisine and an eating experience I will have yet to forget. Tawakal Halal gave me the best food and service in about 14 minutes than other establishments have managed to give me in an hour, so great in fact, that I wouldn’t have forgiven myself if I didn’t go a second time before I left. The food by itself is beyond amazing and I could write a whole review entirely on how great the food is, however, my personal favorites were the Goat Biryani and the Halwa as an excellent dessert option after. In addition to the food, the service here was amazing as well. The staff were always making sure I had everything I needed and doing everything they could to make my experience there a pleasant one, even offering me tea as I waited for my Uber. All in all, the best way I could describe this café to anyone wanting to know more about it is that it is truly everything you could ever ask for in a dining experience: fantastic food and amazing service. It even no longer made me upset that I missed my flight that day for if I hadn’t, I would have never been able to find this gem of a café. Thank you, Tawakal Halal, so much for giving me an experience I will never forget and know that when I return to Boston, you can bet the first stop on my itinerary will be your café. Seems like all the locals hang here, and it was pretty busy.Convenience store, hot food, cold beer, a gas station, and a car wash!They had my favorite Red Bull here, the juneberry one, which was awesome because it's hard to find since the end of summer because I think it was discontinued.I'm glad we stopped here too, because we discovered one tire was real low on air. The air pump we used in the back was soooo slow, but it ran forever, so it got the job done. On our way out we saw another newer air pump by the carwash that takes credit cards and everything. That one probably works better, I wish I noticed it at first.Anyways, the people at the counter were really nice. I'd stop here again if in the area, for sure!”

I had the Eggs Benedict from the senior menu, and it was done to perfection. I enjoyed every bite. Kudos to the chef on duty. I appreciate and acknowledge your effort.
