“About a year ago, I went to John Wright Restaurant for Sunday brunch with a group of friends. I didn’t know what to expect, but the moment I arrived, I was struck by the beautiful waterfront scenery and the stunning, rustic building. Inside, that old-world charm blends perfectly with an upscale dining vibe, giving the place a truly special and unique energy. The brunch was absolutely delicious—so many options, including my personal favorite, eggs Benedict. Fast forward to last night: I stopped in for happy hour with a friend, and we grabbed seats at the bar. It was surprisingly comfortable and not overcrowded at all. The two bartenders were fantastic—warm, funny, and attentive. And the cocktails… OH MY GOSH. Just try them. You’ll thank me later! We ordered the calamari and crab risotto small plates, and they were so good that we immediately ordered a second round of the exact same thing. From a relaxed Sunday brunch, to after-work apps and cocktails, to a special dinner out—John Wright Restaurant gets a solid 10/10 from me. 🍽️“

“A bit disappointed. Love the space but my meal was nothing special. Mixed vegetables were good but only warm. Baked potato was warmer, but not hot. The star of the show would have been the crab cake but there was nothing special there. The menu says jumbo lump crab. If there was lump crab meat, then they shredded it up to make the cake. I could get a crab cake that good or better almost anywhere. We've had good food here in the past, but unfortunately this meal was nothing special.“

“I was in town for work and came for dinner both night. The French onion soup and creme brulee were fabulous, but just might be the best pork chop I have ever had. Prices were reasonable, staff friendly and attentive, food was excellent.“

“Our son's wedding reception was held here, and it was our first time visiting. I was being a bit nosy about the basement when a gentleman who worked there noticed and kindly asked if we’d like to take a peek. Thank you again — that small gesture showed how much you care about your visitors’ experience. During the reception, a family with three young kids started to get a little bored. That same gentleman came out with a basket of brand-new Matchbox cars and gave each child one. Wow! What a thoughtful and above-and-beyond thing to do. You truly helped make their day — and ours — even brighter. Thank you for your kindness and hospitality!“

“Went in front door walked down hallway, was greeted but a nice person named Matt A, which ended up being our waiter! Very nice waiter. Food was as described from waiter, I give the food a 9 out of 10. Will definitely be going back to try more of their dishes. I had fish and chips, and my blind date had the pesto samon pasta.“

“I have read all the reviews others have written and I agree whole heartedly with the great food, the wonderful friendly and family oriented atmosphere, and the extremely attentive service . I have been coming every week with my mentor and awesome friend to get caught up and to break bread together over the past year. The owners are so kind and friendly. “We stopped by on a busy Sunday, so we didn’t mind the wait. The service provided by Anya was outstanding! She was attentive and personable. Our 3 meals came out just as ordered and we were all pleased with lunch & dessert. Anya offered to take a photo of our group and welcomed us back to see her.“

“This restaurant is Excellent in Every category! I have Never had a bad meal at this restaurant. The food is just as great as the view overlooking the golf course. There is plenty of seating, a large game room and many options! The bathrooms are clean and the waiters and waitresses are excellent! Honestly, I don’t know how anyone could knock this place. In my book it is Top Notch on all levels!“

“I used to go to Lucky Duck a lot and then stopped when they took salmon off their menu a few years ago. HOWEVER, my group decided they wanted to go to Lucky Duck and I agreed ... Very happy to discover that salmon is back ... and may have been for a while now ... I was happy to be seated in my formerly regular table ... service was great and the food was delicious!!!“

“Arrived in town for a short stay from Florida. The minute we arrived we were greeted by professional and young college kids at the hostess stand. We waited for 10 minutes while our table was assigned. Perfect table on the terrace facing the 18th hole. Sarah our hostess from Penn state was a joy to get to know. We all ordered from the huge menu selection and couldnt decide what to order. We saw The table next to us and the presentation looked amazing. We finally ordered steaks and salmon as our meal with delicious drinks. Perfect Saturday night at a great venue in York Pa. Keep up the great work Shaun Conway and your team. We will be back.
