“I stopped in here for the for time since they opened and I was pleasantly surprised. The store was clean and well kept. I ordered an old fashioned cheesesteak. The bread was soft, the meat was flavorful, the cheese was melted to perfection and overall it tasted really good. The worker who took my order was polite and my food was done quickly. I love when I have good experiences because i’m usually writing reviews about bad service or bad food quality.“

“I’ve walked by this spot so many times, and it seemed every time I was hungry they were closed (closed on weekends) but today I finally stepped in. I ordered 2 bánh mìs and a Vietnamese coffee. Pete, the owner/operator of the spot was the only one there and we instantly jumped into great conversation about the music scene in Philly back in the late 90s. We ended up knowing a lot of the same people. Philly is a tight knit group. So even before eating the food I was already a fan of this spot. Pete served me his special take on Vietnamese coffee while we talked and he made the sandwiches. The iced coffee was excellent, but different and less sweet than Vietnamese coffee I’ve had in the past. He also used ice cubes made of coffee which was an added bonus for a coffee junkie like myself. After we talked for nearly 20 min, I walked home with my sandwich and WOW! Such a solid bánh mì! I told him to make it like he would make it for himself (spicy) and he knocked it out of the park. I’ll be back and I’ll be bringing all my music friends here when they are in the neighborhood. I highly encourage Olde City residents as well as Philly locals to give this place a try!“

“I am so happy to have finally visited Smalls, there are basically no good vegan breakfast options within walking distance (unless you like donuts, which I don’t generally). Smalls has tofu breakfast and lunch sandwiches, but more importantly, they have a truly awesome chickpea salad hoagie. I make a pretty tasty chickpea salad myself, so i don’t typically order it at restaurants, but this one changed my mind. We need more high quality vegan sandwiches and vegan-friendly restaurants in this neighborhood!! I’m now worried I’ll be tempted to go too often 😅“

We were in town and needed a fast dinner, and I want to really shout out the crew around 5pm on Dec 21! They took my order over the phone because I wanted something specific, me and the lady were laughing while I placed my order! When I arrived, my order was ready so much faster than I thought and the two male employees were so kind!

Despite of the bad ones I decided to try it for myself I bought there cheesesteak fries and soda lunch special along with a brisket sandwich I also upgraded my fries to the Spanish fries, let me tell you something I wasn’t disappointed at all everything was great, flavorful, and hot it’s definitely a place to go to when I’m down the city!
