“Although I believe this establishment is relatively new, it is adorned with COVID style plastic wrap from the 2020 era shielding the front counter. It is typical of every take away Chinese restaurant. It is, however, probably the best quality within a 25 mile radius. The beef with snow peas contain zucchini which isn't usual, the lo mein was wonderful & the General's chicken was crispy big chunks of chicken. The proteins and sauces exemplified fresh. Portions, especially combos, were larger and main dishes were priced about two dollars less. If you're looking for Chinese take away, this is the place that stands out above the rest.“

“I’m honestly not a Chinese food eater, have to be in a specific mood for it, plus I am a picky eater. I will drive well out of my way (over 30mins) for this food. The bourbon chicken is amazing and the rice is so flavorful. I find myself eating this at least once a week. (For someone who normally dislikes Chinese food). it’s hard to find good bourbon chicken around and this is my go to. I’ve personally never had a bad experience here. The owner is always super pleasant.“

“After doing some serious research, I found it worth driving from Lancaster to try this place. It was so worth it. I got the sesame chicken as well as the pork fried rice and both are awesome!! The spring rolls were really good also. I haven't had truly good vegan Chinese food since Horizons and Kingdom of Vegetarians in Philly. This is right up there with those and I'd recommend the drive from Philly to anyone missing that quality of food. The people were so nice and it was very clean and inviting. Thank you so much. “No.1 Chinese Restaurant has exceptional food and exceptional service! The dining room is not that big, but they do have a few booths and a few tables in the middle (which they have re-arranged to accommodate a group of 8 to10 of us on more than one occasion.) They have top notch service, and you tell that they actually care about serving their customers.
They have some of the best Chinese food I have ever had! Hands down the best in this area! I have tried several menu items, and every single one has been fresh and delicious! Just found out last night that they will make General Tsao's Shrimp (even though it is not a menu item). The owner (or who I assume to be the owner) has been awesome every time we have dined in, and they have gone above and beyond to accommodate us, including special order requests.
Their food is not greasy like a lot of other Chinese food restaurants - everything is fresh, and the sauces are flavorful!
I would highly recommend No.1 Chinese Restaurant! It is the only place I will order Chinese food from; if you are in or around Reading PA, they are definitely worth an extra few minute drive!“

“This is our go to Chinese spot. Their drive through window makes it easy to pick up especially when you have kids. They are a little expensive compared to the other Chinese restaurants but their food has flavor which makes it worth it! They do not deliver though that’s a down side.

“Yum! We are never disappointed with food at Zhuang’s. We love the owners and the family. We have watched the young ones grow over the years. The Sushi is amazing. Foods good and the service delivery time is A1, pick up times can have a slight delay from them pumping out DoorDash or uber eats orders, but they make sure you are priority over delivery drivers. “Never been in to eat. We've only ever gotten delivery. Prices are great for the amount of food you get. Food is delicious and it's our go to. When it's delivered, it's quick and piping hot still. You can't beat it for this area (not alot of options in the Adamstown/Denver area). My husband is from New York and he said it reminds him of Chinese food from the city (which in his opinion is the best).“

“I was introduced to this restaurant by my brother in law. I grew up and am still from NYC, we had a Chinese restaurant that made pizza rolls, and long ago they shut down. Pizza rolls had become my favorite at the Chinese restaurant because they were so delicious. I have visited many food places that would have pizza rolls on the menu but didn't have them in stock. So, having visited my family in Reading, PA this was our first stop. Their pizza rolls are amazing. I wish they made them a bit bigger, but for the size they make them already, still hits the spot. If you're ever in the area, give this place a try for their Chinese food. But don't forget to add the pizza rolls to your order, you won't regret it. ??????“

“Today I ordered the beef with adpargus. The beef was all rubber. I had to spit all of what I tried out. I called and the owner (female) said there is nothing she was going to do about it. $20 gone and no lunch. They just lost a loyal customer.“

“We live 3 miles from the Happy Garden. I go there, pick out our two dishes on their menu, pick it up and drive home all under 1/2 hr. Consistently good food. Always eat half for dinner and half for lunch the next day. $12 per person for each dish plus white rice. I always get hot & spicy chicken, my wife gets chicken with mixed vegetables.“

“I ordered everything online and got an email confirmation with what we ordered and estimated ready time. Everything was done at the time estimated. All the food was really good! The white rice was cooked perfectly. I can't really give them a rating on the atmosphere since it was under Reno, but the kitchen was up and running. This is my new favorite take out spot.

“I found this place while looking for a place to eat Chinese food and let me tell you this place did not disappoint me. Food was great. Service was fast, friendly and respectful. The shrimp fried rice with boneless ribs was amazing. This is the first time that I get tender boneless ribs, usually they are hard and difficult to chew at other restaurants. Here I don't have that issue they are tender and this is why I always go here. The other thing that I've order from here is the shrimp with Broccoli and shrimp fried rice. Also amazing, big shrimps and delicious. The chicken wings are delicious as well. I also like their sesame chicken, the only thing is that you have to ask them to add bean sprouts. But other than that everything is great. Fast service. The prices are fair. Usually when I go I find a parking spot. Dining area was clean. I will continue eating here cause I like this place.“

“I was there yesterday and the selection is overwhelming...so much to choose from. I had the Thai chicken panang with a coconut curry creme sauce and fried rice. It was so good! Crispy spring rolls were great too and as a lunch special it was only $8.50. I took home another dish to try "Triple Delight" but I bet I will love it too. They also are fine if a large group wants to come as long as you give them notice. I will be back soon...I mean it's seriously good food!“

“The BBQ sauce and hot sauce taste great. Their general tso/sesame chicken tastes really good, the sauce is better than most spots I've tasted in the reading area, maybe all to be quite honest. Good on them, and they're close by if you live around city park.
Their shrimp in garlic sauce with vegetable fried rise is my go to dish. Plenty of vegetables, the shrimp taste good, the garlic sauce tastes great, and nothing tastes burnt, which was a problem i was having with a few spots around here. If i wanna get chinese food, this is my go to spot. I'll be trying the other dishes like the sweet and sour chicken and spare rib tips to see how they match up with the other spots.

Overall very pleased with the cooking here, will be a customer for quite a while, haha.
