“An excellent find in Carvoeiro. A nice sunny terrace and very nicely presented restaurant serving an excellent range at good value. Staff were friendly and efficient, our food was first rate and other dishes we saw looked just as good. Will definitely be returning, thank you Bala Rosa!“

“Today marked the beginning of our Lisbon adventure, and what better way to start than with a dining experience at Peixola, a charming restaurant recommended by popular YouTubers. From the moment we stepped inside, we were enchanted by its cozy yet modern ambiance, highlighted by a stunning bar table adorned in light green hues.Renowned for its tantalizing tacos, we eagerly sampled the octopus and shrimp variations. While both were delectable, it was the rarity of the octopus dish that captured my attention, offering a unique culinary experience not often found in London. Our culinary journey continued with the amberjack fish capriccio, adorned with oyster foam—an innovative and visually striking creation. Each bite revealed a symphony of flavors, a testament to the chef's creativity and dedication to freshness. For our main course, we opted to share a squid sauce pasta with scallops—a decision that proved to be another delightful surprise. The dish boasted a harmonious blend of lightness and complexity, with a sauce that danced delicately on the palate, leaving us longing for more.To conclude our meal on a sweet note, we savored the apple crumble paired with apple ice cream—a perfect balance of tartness and sweetness that left us thoroughly impressed. As a gracious gesture, Peixola treated us to a complimentary iced port wine, a delightful surprise that elevated our dessert experience to new heights. While the tacos may have been surpassed by other establishments, the overall dining experience at Peixola was nothing short of extraordinary. With each dish expertly crafted and paired with impeccable service, our total bill of under €70 felt like a steal for the culinary journey we had embarked upon.In summary, Peixola surpassed our expectations and left us eager to return for another unforgettable dining experience. A true gem in the heart of Lisbon, this is one restaurant we'll surely be revisiting time and time again.“

“The seafood rice was plentiful and delicious, and the grilled cod served with spinach was delicious! I was worried there would be a lot of waiting, but I came in right away and ate even though it was late. The white wine was especially good.“

“Kid-friendliness: My wife and I (?️?) came for dinner with both of our set of parents and 10 month old child while on a trip from Canada (our baby was used to being in bed by 8pm on Canada and our reservation was for 9pm Lisbon- you do the math) and the staff was so friendly accomodating and baby friendly- plus the food was unreal. Our baby is generally not super fussy but their kindness and welcoming atmosphere made it simple for our family to feel at ease. Plus the food was outrageously good .. it was a win-win. 10/10 would recommend.“

“Just wow!!! It is an incredible experience, a product of closeness taken to another level. The service is impeccable and the quality is of another level for the price. My favorites were the sardine montadito, the nigiri and the catch of the day sashimi. The desserts are also on another level.“

“We went on the recommendation of the Free tour guide. The staff speaks Spanish, we ordered 2 risottos: shrimp and lime and salmon with truffle, both very delicious; I don't give it 5 stars because I didn't like the detail of the drink. They don't offer you a drinks menu, which already makes you assume that the price is going to be excessive, which it was. €3.50 per bottle of water; €5.50 a glass of wine. The waiter was too insistent about refilling the glass, even having to put his hand to prevent me from refilling it. I didn't like that detail. I would go back but I would ask for water.“

“Adorable service despite a rather tense table. What can we say about the dishes! Everything was perfect... a masada with a juice with an unrivaled taste, great advice when choosing the dishes. We would come back with pleasure. Thank you for your patience and for the Moscatel it was really very good.“

“Excellent grilled food. At lunch, show up early otherwise you risk having to wait at the door for a few minutes, but it's worth the wait. At the end, try the cream milk tart... you won't regret it. So close to Avenida da Liberdade, but so far from the stereotypical food that is served there. Here you return to typically Portuguese flavors.“

“Very good cuisine which still has its price! €28.95 for a plate of octopus (whole)! €5 for a glass of verde wine. €6 for chocolate mousse. And 2.20 for the café crème. All the same! Not really a popular restaurant on a street, not very inviting. The fish is offered by weight, we show it to you raw for approval of the weight and price. Original. To do on a serious budget.“

“Excellent food and super friendly service in a very simple place. I've been here 3 times and have always received very good service. The grilled fish was very fresh, the duck rice was tasty and the pork loin was very good. Try not to overindulge on the bread and olives for starters to save room for dessert. The molotov is very good and the dessert of chocolate cake, whipped cream and profiteroles is exceptional. I will come back.“

“A beautiful address, whose standing leaves no other choice than to be "at the expected level".It's not "typical", nor family-friendly. It is a large restaurant like those found in all capitals. But it is good to note that it values its standing and that the quality is commensurate with the prices charged. Which is appreciable. The grilled sole is exceptional and the apple pie to die for.“

“Great food. A plethora of seafood offerings, some of which we'd never heard of. Cilantro, garlic, and oil are popular ingredients in Portugal, which we have been loving. This place is crazy popular, so I recommend making a rez well in advance. We did so through their website (had to put down a 25 euro deposit for each person, which they subtracted from the total bill). Service is professional, not super friendly, and fast. The waiter gave us helpful recommendations, and the food came out fast. We stayed for a total of 45 minutes for dinner, but saw other, larger parties for what we imagined was a nice, long meal. It can get noisy with people hammering their crabs, so we were happy to have a relatively short but very satisfying meal.Dietary restrictions: I had a gluten-free beer--wonderful. Wish they also had gf bread to sop up all the nice sauces.“

“Choosing this restaurant/Sushi Bar was a last minute option. Reservation made over the phone, service was attentive and informative. When the time arrived we were a little disappointed by the options we had to choose from, the following is understood, the quality is undoubtedly good, however the menu is essentially based on a more traditional concept of Japanese food, which was to my liking, but not to my liking. other people. Another less positive aspect is the number of portions, which are an odd number (generally 5), which forces you to order more of the same so that everyone has at least 2 pieces per person, which in certain cases becomes somewhat embarrassing. In terms of customer service and attention, in fact 5 stars, excelling in friendliness and cordiality. Here I leave a suggestion, and it's not a criticism at all, keep the traditional concept, but opt for tasting or "family" style menus which are always great options for groups of 4 or more people, even when it's a lunch of work that is decided "over the knee" in the good Lusitanian way.“

“Small and simple atmosphere in this city center restaurant. The staff were friendly although not very proactive, I ordered a typical Portuguese dish: octopus lagaeiro. The quality of the ingredients and the level of cuisine are very good.I also tasted the cod appetizers and a delicious homemade cheesecake with fresh berries, really good! The bill is balanced compared to the average of Lisbon restaurants.Worth a (p)taste,“

“One of the best restaurants I've ever been to in my life. It's absurd that they don't have a Michelin star.Impeccable service and wonderful dishes. It's always crowded, we arrived when the restaurant opened to be able to sit down as there were no reservations for the days we were in Lisbon.“

“Octopus was really fresh and delicious. It was a little too oily for my taste. The bread and cheese plate that came to the table without ordering was added to the bill later. Some restaurants offer starters as a treat, but go there knowing that you will pay for everything you eat in Portugal.“

“One of my favorite restaurants in town. It's great and its food is awesome! Try the "pregos no pão" (steak in bread), the seafood or "strogonoff de camarão" (prawns with cream and mushrooms). There's a parking lot (paid until 7 pm, I think) on the other side of the market, which is a great place to park the car if one can't find an available place on the street.Parking: Parking lot (free at night) only 100 m away.Wheelchair accessibility: Ground level restaurant.“

“Good food on the slight tinge of being fusion. Had a wonderful pasta with grouper dish( served in a pot similar to seafood rice). The black cuttlefish ink rice was not traditional mixed with onions and peppers that's not what I'm used to (Italy, Croatia Greece). It was with small pieces of cuttlefish. Service was top notch. I would go back and try other items. Overall it's traditional with a touch of gourmet mixed in at decent prices.“

You were the kindest and most considerate person I met in Lisbon!?Thank you so much to the “FABIO” staff!?Thanks to you, my last night in Lisbon was so happy!ah! “When in Setúbal, go for the local fresh fish. This is an excellent option for traditional fare. The menu is extensive, the catch fresh, and despite it being hidden in one of those hidden side roads, it's a great choice. Easy to locate with enough opening just off the main road. Fairly with indoor or outdoor options. Enjoy!!“

“A place with a beautiful presentation both inside and outside, highlighting the aquariums that are there, a wide variety of grilled fish dishes, I recommend the sea bream, and there is even the possibility of making half portions of them, if you don't like fish there is also half a dozen meat dishes. The order takes a while, which in my opinion is acceptable. Finally, the employees, in addition to being good professionals, are also friendly. The only negative thing was the fact that where I sat there was a piece of chewing gum that ended up stuck to my pants.Parking: Good parking with many spaces literally next to the establishment.“

“Super delicious food with nice service. Didn't wait long even though it was very busy. The only drawback: the ambience corresponds to that of a train station and the charm of a cafeteria. Super loud when the store is full. But great view of the water. If possible, it's best to sit outside.“

“We visited for the first time as a reference, the food was well prepared, but I would like to leave some advice to the management, because we didn't know who was truly the owner of the space. It's very ugly while we are eating to lift the chairs and place them on the tables almost in a I warn you (hurry up if I want to leave) and it's a shame. We weren't the only table to make this observation. The dishes brought to the table still full of water, the “owner or employee”, we didn't know, placed them anyway.I do not recommend the service“

“My expectations for Ramiro were high and they met them. Do not expect a high end quiet dark restaurant, quite the opposite. A fun and convivial, loud, beer drinking vibe is more likely. People using mallets on their spider crab only adds to the fun but noisy level. The clams in garlic were a bit hit at my table, we got a small order of perceves (barnacles) as we never miss a chance to totally taste the sea. The spider crab and how it’s served was the big winner for me. Fun and delicious to eat. Only miss I thought was the giant prawn- yes a big prawn but nothing special. Others may disagree. A matter of taste and experience I guess. Prego for dessert of course. We split one as way to full but had to have. A fun, noisy experience with the emphasis on fun.“

“So, we have just been to the restaurant on our last night in Portugal. We walked past the restaurant a few nights ago and there were people queuing outside to get a table. After looking for a more traditional restaurant to eat we decided to come back and luckily enough we claimed the last table for 4. The gentleman on the door (sorry didn't get his name but assume he is the owner) was really friendly and welcoming, told us he had a kids menu that wasn't on display (my son is 5) and then sat us down, brought menus and asked us if we wanted any drinks. Beers and juices came quickly, including freshly squeezed orange juice, and we ordered food..kids pizza, chicken nuggets and pork fillet and peri peri chicken for the adults..plus extra drinks. Food was a little slow however this was due to the place being full and food being freshly prepped and when it arrived we knew we had made a good choice. Pork was lovely and tender served with sliced fried potatoes and salad, chicken was spicy ( with added peri peri oil) served with fries and salad... delicious. Kids really enjoyed their meals too..nothing left for dad to pick at! 4 meals, 4 beers and 4 juices, plus a bottle of the peri peri oil, for about 55euros. Possibly the best meal we have had all week..and we have had a few good ones to choose from! Will definitely pay another visit next time we come back to Portugal! Thanks from Spiderman for the tiny beer!“
