“A great place to eat on the water front. We came across this restaurant whilst walking past and decided to give it a try. We are glad we did. We were seated inside on a very hot day which was ideal. The waiter was very friendly and guided us through the menu. For a starter we had olives, a selection of breads with tuna pate. For the main we shared the local cod dish with prawns etc., topped with potatoes. This was delicious and we ate the whole dish !. For desert we had the tart which the waiter poured whisky on which made for a superb finish !. We also had a bottle of the local white wine. We would definitely visit again.“

“A perfect restaurant, immersive in the landscape surrounded by the sea, with careful and excellent service, great food and offerings providing a sea travel experience. The final price was normal, but not high for the quality/location/service ratio! I recommend it very, very calmly.“

“Had lunch here while on holiday recently. This restaurant is in a beautiful location, right on the beach with amazing views. The prices are more than you would generally pay in Porto but everything we had was excellent. It is really fine dining on the beach! We choose to order a number of small plates to share prawns, salmon, codfish, fries and salad, along with a bottle of rose. Everything was presented beautifully, service was excellent and we enjoyed every bit of our lunch. Highly recommend“

“I had the pleasure of having lunch at the Alfândega restaurant and I must share my enthusiasm for this exceptional experience. This restaurant embodies everything I love to find in Portugal: authentic, tasty and generous Portuguese cuisine. The manager, a true enthusiast of Portuguese cuisine, spares no effort to offer his guests a memorable gastronomic experience. His passion for good food is reflected in every dish he presents. Furthermore, his passion for music adds a unique touch to the restaurant's atmosphere.During my visit, I noticed that this restaurant is a very popular place, which sometimes means a long queue, especially on Sundays. This is undeniable proof of its growing popularity and well-deserved reputation. The quality of food served is truly exceptional, especially the seafood. The freshness of the fish is incomparable, which is understandable since we are in Vila do Conde, next to the ocean, with its dedicated fishermen. Every mouthful reminded me of the proximity to the sea and the commitment to quality that this restaurant embodies. In short, the Alfândega restaurant was able to capture the essence of Portuguese cuisine. My experience there was memorable and I highly recommend all lovers of authentic cuisine to enjoy this excellent experience.“

“Outdoor dining experience although sheltered with an awning and windshield, the wind gusts were felt. The service is friendly and fast. It is a family team that is already in its third generation and hence maintains the spirit of dedication to the customer. The Turbot came with turnip greens and boiled potatoes, black olives and two slices of lemon. The fish was fresh and well grilled. From the menu, the rooster fish and sea bass dishes are still popular, but the latter had already finished when we ordered.I will repeat again.Recommendation: arrive early to avoid the huge influx of regular customers.LIKE“
