“It was well worth diverting my trip just to have lunch here as I would say it's the best restaurant I've been to in Porto. The service and location are impeccable but what shines is the food, as it should be. We ate croquette, carrot, beetroot and tartar and everything was surprising, delicious, subtle with each flavor just right, and that is a mastery that few achieve.“

“Informal environment, amazing cod. We ate two appetizers, cod with lemon sauce and chips and cod chips with parsley mayonnaise. Then we had two plates of cod assado....fantastic, served with potato sheets. All accompanied by an excellent green wine. Best quality.“

“Spectacular and delicious everything
We had not reserved a table, they treated us very well, despite everything being full, they found a place for us.
The food was excellent, the octopus with risotto was tremendously good, the meat, the cod...and many gluten-free dishes, highly recommended for celiacs who are difficult to find places.
Without a doubt we will repeat
Thanks to the lady and the boy with glasses who were super kind and attentive.

“A hidden gem! The food is simple and very tasty. I had the grilled sea bass and the waiter told me when I ordered it was seasoned only with salt. It was so delicious and cooked perfectly. The waiter was friendly and helpful. The prices were very reasonable. If you're looking for simple "home cooked" food in a quite atmosphere, this is your place.“

“We came across the restaurant by chance during our visit to Porto. It is located in an alley, there is little space but we waited a little but the grilled sardines were worth it. The owner will give you a warm welcome and the prices are very affordable.“

“An exceptional restaurant in Porto where you can taste traditional Portuguese cuisine dishes, in a pleasant and authentic atmosphere. It is not just another cardboard restaurant for tourists.
Antônio attended to us and could not have been more attentive, friendly and pleasant to us. Highly recommended, to repeat the next time you visit Porto.
Vegetarian options: They have some vegetarian options, although little variety, but you can request that they adapt one of the dishes they offer on the menu (they are very attentive).
Kid-friendliness: They accept children and the treatment is very pleasant“

“Brilliant food court. We've visited a number of times on our trip to Porto. Locals go here. You can buy food anywhere here, buy drinks anywhere else, and can sit at any seat, in any bar or area (including outside) and eat and drink away. Great idea and very welcoming and friendly.“

“Friendliness is a constant from employees to bosses, everyone is always very attentive and available. As for the food, it must be from the restaurants in Greater Porto with the best preparation of traditional Portuguese food. If we talk about roasted goat, it is clearly the best you can find. By the way, I recommend the delicious burnt cream milkThe atmosphere has nothing "trendy". It is completely diverse, and you can find all types of frequencies. But even if someone doesn't fully appreciate the atmosphere, dinner is always a pleasure, due to the service and the quality and preparation of the food.
Parking: Relatively far from the restaurant (maybe more than 200 meters)
Wheelchair accessibility: Yes, despite having a somewhat narrow entrance.“

“The food is pretty good, but if you want cod… it's not the place. Original flavors, acceptable service and a very good atmosphere.
It is at the edge of the corridor in the Ribeira. A place to enjoy. I advise arriving before two or after three thirty. If not, wait for a table.
A curiosity. When you enter the premises you can see the floor below through the floor.

“Absolutely fantastic food! It was my Moms birthday the day we went to the restaurant and it was an absolute fantastic evening there. The waiter and the waitress gratulated my mom for her birthday and they actually were so nice they made my mom a special desert:). As the main course we took the codfish and 2x the grilled octopus, also the waiter gave us advice on the starters. Thank you so much for everything !!!“

“Our experience was generally good but I was disappointed that the seafood was not freshly cooked and cooled at the time since it was obvious that it was already in the morning or the day before, the mussels were hidden with the vinaigrette but they were hard, in general they were I noticed everything except the sea ox filling which was quite good and abundant and the waiter was super nice in advising us not to overdo it when ordering and advising a very good green Albariño wine, perhaps they had other specialties that we missed but I recommend it, although they should be more careful with the genre, especially the seafood, since it is immediately noticeable when they don't do it right away. It lacked juiciness, rather it was dry. 100 euros must be noticed on the table, otherwise it's fine.“

“Small restaurant waiting to be found in the alleys of Porto, small and intimate, simple and genuine. Delicious dishes, of course I expected something good but not to eat so much good, definitely the best pasteis de bacalhau in Portugal. Very friendly and accommodating staff, fast service and low prices, definitely worth a try. If you love creme brulé, the milk dessert is for you.“

“One of the best cod dishes I've ever eaten. The meal is tasty, well served, and the price and quality are well worth it. It's a great place to eat good food. The green broth is very tasty, order it! The downside is that after leaving the restaurant, we smell the food. In terms of service, it was good, but a little late. I recommend it and I want to go back“

“Excellent service, very courteous, attentive, prompt & considerate to my very senior Dad. Very tasty food, I enjoyed the veggies, good fries, the veal could have been tender; Dad also loved the desert and the wine. Very clean, pleasant and pricing varies being accessible all around. The entries (bread, butter, etc.) are paid items and are shown on the menu - no surprises there. We will be back!“

“Found this place on our first night in Porto and ended up going back for seconds because the food was so good. The dishes sound simple but they are all very flavorful. We tried the padrón peppers, clams, fried sardines, sea bream, grilled octopus, salads and I would recommend all of them! One thing to note is that this place is cash only but they do have an ATM right outside.“

“Good francesinha, very rich and generous. They have the option of ordering only half (although not the large options) for those who do not want to eat so much, you can also order extra eggs and fries which I recommend to mix with the tasty sauce.
The dessert of cookies with chocolate and coconut was disappointing both in quantity and flavor, it was not bad but I do not recommend it.
Great service, fast, friendly and attentive. I liked the idea they have with electronic buttons to call the service or to request the bill.
I recommend booking online because it is usually quite busy.“

“This is a local restaurant.
The location is quite remote.
I had fried octopus and sardines.
The fried sardines are really seasoned just right, and they're just rice thieves.
Overall, it is a good restaurant with good taste and reasonable price.“

“We came to the Lagostim restaurant yesterday afternoon... the meal was so good that it would have been a crime not to go there a second time. Returning the next evening, we were able to see again the quality of the dishes. Serious and pleasant service, and what you find on the plate is just as pleasant. Between the octopus and prawn cataplana, the sautéed shrimp, not to mention the grilled sea bass and clams à la Bulhão Pato (if you have to choose a starter... this one is to die for): it's hard to doubt the quality of the ingredients and the authenticity of the cuisine. For an authentically Portuguese meal with a setting that matches the same, we can only recommend Lagostim. It is more than certain that we will come back during our next stays in Porto, and I advise you to do the same!“

“Some restaurants reflect kind and real face of countries, cultures. This one perfectly represents Portuguese culture and their warm approach, greeting was very warm and friendly. Thanks to Sergio, he guided us in very honest and delicious way to choose our dishes.
We ordered white-green wine, octopus with garlic and see food rice for 2 persons. Everything was just perfect. Especially the rice is too big portion for 2 person and it was really perfect. Thanks again to Sergio. Highly recommended!!!“

“It was our first night in Lisbon, after arriving from the States a few hours earlier. We had no energy to research restaurants nor to wander more than a few blocks from our hotel. The hotel receptionist recommended Duque, which was just down the street from our lodgings. Arriving at the restaurant, I noted menus posted in Portuguese, English, French, and Italian, and my heart sank a bit as that's usually a sign of a "tourist trap." But no matter, as I said, we had no energy to look further, so we proceeded in the door, and we were so glad that we did. We were greeted promptly & warmly, and immediately shown to a table, despite our lack of reservations. To start, we ordered the couvert, as well as the Caldo Verde soup for my husband and a green salad for me; the latter was not on the menu but I asked if one was available & told that it was. For the main course, my husband had the Oven Roasted Octupus & I ordered the Roast Salmon. All of the food was well prepared and the service could not have been more friendly or attentive. My husband's napkin slid off his lap onto the floor; our waitress noticed & brought him a clean napkin before he had a chance to ask -- something you'd expect at a "fine" restaurant but not necessarily one that is this casual. Looking around the room, it was clear that the restaurant is very "tourist friendly," though not a "tourist trap." I doubt that there was a single Portuguese patron there, though plenty of Americans, British, and Germans. So, if you are bent on finding an obscure "hole-in-the-wall" that is undiscovered by other visitors, that's not Duque. But Duque is perfect if you are seeking well-prepared Portuguese food at a moderate price, in a welcoming, convivial atmosphere.“
“Lovely little cafe/restaurant run by a Portugese couple. Small, maybe fit 10 people inside, but worth a visit. They don't speak English, when asked about a menu the woman listed the ingredients she had and asked what we wanted her to make. Proper Portugese home cooked food, we nick named her our portugese mum! My gf had steak, rice and chips, I had salmon, rice and chips, and we each had a beer, came to 10euro each. I ate all the food before i could take a photo of it! Best salmon I've ever had, definitely worth a visit if you can find it. Across from one of the entrances to the local shopping centre.“

“Very traditional restaurant with excellent service where I recommend the Francesinha, typical food of modern Portuguese cuisine originally from Porto. It is a very complete sandwich (considered among the 10 best in the world) to eat very well, you can ask for more sauce with which they cover the plate, it is delicious!“
“My 40th birthday couldn't have been better! There are no words to describe yesterday. It was simply incredible! Tasca Langarica, located in the Vitória neighborhood, in Porto, did an exceptional job. Each dish served was wonderful and the service was impeccable. It's so good to know that we still have places like this in our city, which exude the essence of Porto.
I feel extremely proud to have been born in this wonderful city. Once again, a huge thank you to Tasca do Langarica for making my day so special ??????“
“What is the best aspect of this restaurant? The excellent food with menus that change daily? The sidewalk atmosphere near the tram? The views of the bridge, water, and sunset? Miguel, the waiter told us, "you always know the food is good when the owner is tending the outdoor grill and his wife is in the kitchen." This restaurant is very popular with the locals so you know it's good. We ate here several times.“

“The truth is that we ate very well, huge dishes. We ordered 3 dishes for 3 people and we almost couldn't handle them. The cod is very good and the rice is soupy,
also. Even the little one's pasta was very good. It took about 20 minutes to bring the main dish, but it seems normal if they are making it to you at the moment and it is not frozen. A very good place to eat.
I understand that negative reviews come if the place is crowded, but in our case we were very quiet.“

“HIDDEN GEM.Genuine portuguese recipes, high quality bakery, sweet and savory alike. The savory "bôla", the croissants, or their dried fruit soft biscuits, there's a lot to enjoy.Bonus, it has a feel of the Porto from the old days, before it became more turist oriented, the customers are mainly locals.Very friendly service, and on the less expensive side as well.Highly recommended“
“Coming from the United States, we are used to paying a lot of money for not a lot of food. At Metamorphosis, everything is affordable, including the wine. “Have been there in the end of June 2024, with a group of 40 people.
The food was great, the staff very fast with the service and professional.
The space (1st floor room), however, needs a better sound dampening, it can get too noisy. And the windows deserve an improvement, have some stains that depreciate the amazing view they have.“
