“I went here with my family and had a really good experience. We originally went for lunch but it was so good we ended up coming back for dinner. Excellent service as well, our waitress was Mariana and she was great. All the food was amazing, but I highly recommend the sardines and acorda in particular.“

“Had a wonderful time here. We didn’t have a reservation but cued in 20 minutes before the opening at 7 pm. We didn’t wait for too long and got seated from 7 pm till 8.30 at a pre-reserved table next to the window. We ordered grilled octopus, fried sardines, sautéed squids and one tiger shrimp in orange sauce. We accompanied the food with white wine (alvarinho) Everything we ate was delicious, we specifically ordered the couvert just to dip the bread to the giant tiger shrimp’s dreamy orange sauce. I am so glad we had our last dinner in Porto at this restaurant, a perfect finish to a nice vacation.“

“Lovely experience that I cannot recommend enough. Incredibly fresh and high quality ingredients cooked simply. The octopus in green sauce was cooked perfectly, best octopus I’ve ever had. Service was very professional and paced perfectly. If you’re from the US, you know how much rushed service can ruin a meal. Not here. A perfect meal overall, come here if you’re in Porto!“

“Informal environment, amazing cod. We ate two appetizers, cod with lemon sauce and chips and cod chips with parsley mayonnaise. Then we had two plates of cod assado....fantastic, served with potato sheets. All accompanied by an excellent green wine. Best quality.“

“We ordered for starters the beetroot, the cured duck and the beef fried balls, the cured duck was very good, not chewy at all. The octopus dish was really tender with some vegetable tempura and salad vinaigrette. The beef tartare came with little puff toastadas, it had a bit too much mustard. The steak was pretty tender and the side of fries was amazing! For dessert we had the chocolate mousse with ice cream vanilla and the other fruity dessert with persimmons. Both were really good. We had the mojito tropical and the new fashion both pretty sweet.“

“Super delicious food with great value! Fried sardine and calamari are one of the best! We went back on the 2nd day again, out of 3 days trip at Porto. The decoration is not fancy, the high google rating is because the extreme high quality of food. Definitely try it and you won’t be disappointed.“

“This wonderful restaurant is in a privileged location. Their cheese board is 100% recommended, which they have as a “dessert.”Maybe the shrimp risotto lacked some shrimp flavor but still the food was very delicious and the attention was 10.“

“Food was gorgeous! We got sea bream and robalo a la brasa- simple and excellent. Salad and tart lime great companions for the meal. We were there last Thursday it was packed, still they are sooo nice when they approach to you! Both the owners were at capacity inside and outside, and got apologies for waiting which for us were no needed! We enjoyed the ambiance so much. Pity it was our last night, we could have repeat and repeat!“

“This small restaurant has my heart. My partner and I ate here for our first and last night in the city. The seafood rice is rich, flavourful and filling. This is a family owned restaurant that has been there for 13 years. It only has a small number of tables but it’s definitely worth coming early or waiting for a table.“

“Very warm and friendly atmosphere to taste typical dishes and very generously served. Jean the boss makes fantastic tripe and is delighted to see his customers taste them. A real good address, a little far from the tourist areas but worth the detour!“

“A perfect spot for lunch! The salt baked seabass and white sangria were absolutely delish. The service was also top tier, as we initially were offered a table in the sun, though when a table became available in the shade our waiter offered to move us without promoting. Highly, highly recommend to anyone visiting Porto!“

“My family and I visited the restaurant together. We ordered A LOT OF seafood. All the seafood is so fresh so delicious. We love the seafood rice the most. We ordered TWO times and finished them all. We were planning to go for seafood rice again the day after but we didn’t have enough time unfortunately. The price was very reasonable. The meal cost us less than €110 for five people to have an amazing dinner.Special thanks to Pedro, who is super nice, friendly, interesting and helpful to us. We didn’t speak Portuguese but he helped us to get all the food we wanted. His funny reaction when he realized we were going to order second seafood rice truly made our night!“

“I went late and ate at the restaurant. I had clams, seafood rice, and cod croquettes, and it was the most delicious seafood rice I've ever had. The cod croquettes were nice and warm, with a fish cutlet feel, and the clams were also delicious!! The staff is friendly and warm.. “The owner was friendly and it was really delicious. The portion of seafood rice was so large that five or six people could eat it if they ordered several different dishes. Since there were 2 people, the owner said there would be a lot, but I really wanted to try it, so I ordered it. It was really delicious, but there was too much, so I ended up leaving some.Octopus is also really delicious.“

“This place is a hidden gem absolute value for money with high quality and very fresh. Love the owner and their service. It’s better to go there like 7pm because post 8pm it’s very difficult to find a place and you have to wait for a long time. It’s a small place indoor and they have outdoor seating in springs and summers.“

“This spot is at a food court. Many people buy takeouts, it is very busy. The seafood is so good and inexpensive. They serve hot seafood as well as cold seafood. If you are early they will not take your order until 12:30pm. Hot food: Scallops, Razer Clams, Clams, seafood with rice etc. cold food : Barnacle, shrimp, oysters, crabs, etc. Go and fill your stomach with fresh and inexpensive seafood...enjoy!“

“If you ever are in Porto, you need to visit Escama. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, the menu while simple is executed flawlessly. We treated ourselves to the Chef menu, 4 dishes chosen by the chef. The entrée of ceviche (our favorite) and oysters was fresh and tasty. The main course (sea bass) was grilled to perfection.Do not miss.“

“Friendliness is a constant from employees to bosses, everyone is always very attentive and available. As for the food, it must be from the restaurants in Greater Porto with the best preparation of traditional Portuguese food. If we talk about roasted goat, it is clearly the best you can find. By the way, I recommend the delicious burnt cream milkThe atmosphere has nothing "trendy". It is completely diverse, and you can find all types of frequencies. But even if someone doesn't fully appreciate the atmosphere, dinner is always a pleasure, due to the service and the quality and preparation of the food.Parking: Relatively far from the restaurant (maybe more than 200 meters)Wheelchair accessibility: Yes, despite having a somewhat narrow entrance.“
“It was our first night in Lisbon, after arriving from the States a few hours earlier. We had no energy to research restaurants nor to wander more than a few blocks from our hotel. The hotel receptionist recommended Duque, which was just down the street from our lodgings. Arriving at the restaurant, I noted menus posted in Portuguese, English, French, and Italian, and my heart sank a bit as that's usually a sign of a "tourist trap." But no matter, as I said, we had no energy to look further, so we proceeded in the door, and we were so glad that we did. We were greeted promptly & warmly, and immediately shown to a table, despite our lack of reservations. To start, we ordered the couvert, as well as the Caldo Verde soup for my husband and a green salad for me; the latter was not on the menu but I asked if one was available & told that it was. For the main course, my husband had the Oven Roasted Octupus & I ordered the Roast Salmon. All of the food was well prepared and the service could not have been more friendly or attentive. My husband's napkin slid off his lap onto the floor; our waitress noticed & brought him a clean napkin before he had a chance to ask -- something you'd expect at a "fine" restaurant but not necessarily one that is this casual. Looking around the room, it was clear that the restaurant is very "tourist friendly," though not a "tourist trap." I doubt that there was a single Portuguese patron there, though plenty of Americans, British, and Germans. So, if you are bent on finding an obscure "hole-in-the-wall" that is undiscovered by other visitors, that's not Duque. But Duque is perfect if you are seeking well-prepared Portuguese food at a moderate price, in a welcoming, convivial atmosphere.“

“Wonderful little restaurant hidden in a side street. Looks unassuming from the outside, but the food is very good, service very attentive and overall feels like a very authentic place. And did I mention it’s cheap.Bacalhau com natas highly recommended. It was almost empty when I came, but then quickly filled up with locals.Glad I stepped in spontaneously.“

“Had an amazing waiter and a truly memorable, delicious lunch (soup, super-fresh whole grilled fish w/ potatoes and salad, mineral water and coffee) for - I kid you not - the price of an Intelligentsia coffee in LA. All with an amazing river view.“

“Had a truly wonderful dinner experience here. We ordered the clams for starters. Was delicious and we couldnt stop eating. The waiter we had was wonderful and kept changing plates (with shells) periodically. For main, we ordered the crab. Here, most fish are priced by the kilo but you can choose your (approxiamte) portion size. For us, it was about 500 gms. The meat was not only fresh, the crab salad was simply delicious. The location is in a very chic area and the staff were not just friendly but quick and efficient.“
“Lovely little cafe/restaurant run by a Portugese couple. Small, maybe fit 10 people inside, but worth a visit. They don't speak English, when asked about a menu the woman listed the ingredients she had and asked what we wanted her to make. Proper Portugese home cooked food, we nick named her our portugese mum! My gf had steak, rice and chips, I had salmon, rice and chips, and we each had a beer, came to 10euro each. I ate all the food before i could take a photo of it! Best salmon I've ever had, definitely worth a visit if you can find it. Across from one of the entrances to the local shopping centre.“
“What is the best aspect of this restaurant? The excellent food with menus that change daily? The sidewalk atmosphere near the tram? The views of the bridge, water, and sunset? Miguel, the waiter told us, "you always know the food is good when the owner is tending the outdoor grill and his wife is in the kitchen." This restaurant is very popular with the locals so you know it's good. We ate here several times.“

“I had an exceptional dining experience at Ostras & Coisas, and I'm eager to share the details. Firstly, I must commend the outstanding service provided. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted and well taken care of. Oliver, our server, deserves special recognition for his attentiveness and friendliness throughout the meal. Now, onto the food – the selection is truly impressive. We opted for the hot mix and the seafood soup, both of which were bursting with flavor and impeccably prepared. And of course, we couldn't resist trying the oysters, which were absolutely delightful.I highly recommend making a reservation in advance, as this place fills up quickly – and for good reason! The overall atmosphere is inviting and relaxed, making it the perfect spot for a memorable dining experience. In summary, Ostras & Coisas exceeded all expectations, and I wouldn't hesitate to dine here again. Five stars across the board!“

“100% our favourite restaurant in Porto. We had dinner here twice during our stay because we loved it so much so highly recommend. The prawns are incredible and we had them both times. Absolutely and easily the best prawns I've had. If you don't book then you can go and put your name on the waiting list and sit outside and have a drink while you wait. We waited maybe an hour but it was so lovely to sit and drink wine with a gorgeous view of the river. We booked the second time and you sit inside, which is lovely but personally I preferred the more relaxed vibe of outside and would have happily waited again. The staff was wonderful.“
“Not an obvious choice and very small esplanada. Hidden away on a side street it has a great menu. Service is great given restrictions in size! It’s not Silver service but if you are looking for great food with great atmosphere this is the place! Only downside is that it does not take cards! cash only!“

“We went to eat on a Saturday around 1:00 p.m. and we had no problem finding a table, although little by little it filled up. It took them very little time to serve the dishes and the wait was made pleasant thanks to the selection of beers they have in the establishment. We ordered two francesinhas with potatoes (a detail worth highlighting is that if you want them with egg or potatoes you must indicate it). It is recommended to order the francesinha which has the best meat, it was delicious. We also ordered dessert, it was exquisite. In general the food was very good. The waiter's attention was impeccable when it came to ordering, he saw us a little lost and explained very well what each dish was like.100% recommended“

“I haven't been here in over 40 years. Attentive, friendly, polite and efficient service, although sometimes a little slow due to lack of staff. With the exception of the Octopus à Lagareiro, which was overcooked and therefore too hard, I recommend the Bacalhau à Brás and the grilled squid. To come back and next time we will go for other dishes.“
“HIDDEN GEM.Genuine portuguese recipes, high quality bakery, sweet and savory alike. The savory "bôla", the croissants, or their dried fruit soft biscuits, there's a lot to enjoy.Bonus, it has a feel of the Porto from the old days, before it became more turist oriented, the customers are mainly locals.Very friendly service, and on the less expensive side as well.Highly recommended“
