“Wow. I had a wonderful dinner at Almeja — which exceeded my expectations. The staff were incredibly welcoming and nice. The setting is intimate, and their food was fantastic. I ordered off the a la carte menu and it was an inventive take on Portuguese food — and delicious — I would have happily paid double what they charged. It was a lighter meal — a nice change after a few days traditional, heavier Portuguese food.I will definitely be recommending Almeja to friends visiting Porto.Vegetarian options: There were multiple staters and two mains that were vegetarian — and the option of a vegetarian tasting menu.“

“Those who have not made a reservation are advised to queue up at 10 o'clock before the store opens. There are quite a few seats in the store, but it is a bit crowded; the store staff are very friendly. The bread and olives served at the beginning cost 1.8 euros per dish. The francesina is delicious, but the cheese at the end is a bit salty. I recommend ordering the filet for the steak, which is not too tough. You must order the Sangria for wine. It’s delicious, filling, and photogenic. The toilet is on the first basement floor. Overall, it’s very nice. Nice restaurant ? It is recommended that two people order a vegetable and a glass of wine each and they will be very full!“

The atmosphere of the place is simply beautiful, and the gesture of welcoming us with a glass of wine added a special touch to our evening. I definitely recommend them! In MU you eat 10.”“

“Located in one of the main streets of Porto. On the first floor of a hotel. It has a very stylish atmosphere. The dishes are small, to share as a couple or so you can order and try many flavors. That enchanted me.The wine list is extensive, I recommend ordering the Portuguese wines because they are very exquisite. The service is very attentive.I would return.“

With the thought thatI went there after thinking about it a million times. If I hadn't gone, I would have been in big trouble. This is the best restaurant!I didn't make a reservation and went when it opened at 6 o'clock. They said I could eat comfortably until 8 o'clock.1. Pre-dinner bread and welcome sangria (free)2. Rib eye steak, medium rare for 1 person3. Truffle Mash Potato4. A glass of red wine5. Raw chocolate for dessert (free)After eating all of this, it came out to about 49 euros.I don’t remember eating a good steak in Porto.I didn't expect it, but it was the steak of my life.I ate it with mashed potatoes and the seasoning was just right. The staff are all very friendly and I highly recommend it.“

“What a delightful restaurant. Some of the best food we've had, alongside immaculate service. Highlights were the octopus and the sausage rice, but everything we ate was delicious. Staff, especially the barman, were brilliant and made the whole evening very special. Would absolutely recommend.“

“Great food an an interesting concept. Staff really friendly and helpful. Essentially it’s a surprise menu, so they bring you a dish, leave you to taste and then tell you what it was. Makes you really appreciate the flavours (even if you get it wrong!). Pairing wine menu also really good. Great evening. Highly recommended.“

“This is a restaurant where I had a very happy experience that washed away all the bad experiences I had in Porto.I was very impressed not only by the taste of the food, but also by the owner's friendly hospitality and food recommendations, and the subtlety of asking whether I would like a starter, which starter he recommended, and whether I would be served first, as the food might be delayed by about 20 minutes. We tried three menu items and were all satisfied. The overall portion was very large and the octopus was so soft that it was difficult to eat in Korea.I was very satisfied with the seafood pasta as it had plump shrimp and lots of clams.Even if you are not Korean, this is a restaurant that everyone will enjoy. If I come to Porto again, I think I will only come here.reference. Both the bread and butter that are served for the first time are charged for a fee. Koreans, please take note. But it’s not a waste and it’s delicious.“

“Torto is the best cocktail bar in Porto !But WARNING: do not go there on your last night in Porto if you have a flight at 6am.The staff is so damn cool, music is a vibe and the drinks are made to perfection that you will think one more can’t hurt.Well… We lost our flight and now have to stay some more days until the next, overall, we blame the coolest bar in Porto for it!See you again later tonight for some more drinks ❤️?“

“Just go! Go! Go! Make a reservation as they are almost always full. It is small and quaint and the food is phenomenal. João was the consummate host. Complimentary champagne, olives and fresh warm bread. Then we had the soup of the day, chicken meatballs, peppered pasta with pecorino and ham cheeks with mash potatoes and broccolini. Last but not least lemon orange cake that melts in your mouth. Everything was amazing! I wish I could give them 10 stars!“

“We showed up here 5 minutes before their closing time and the waiter was so kind to let us sit and quickly order a couple of the rossois. They were SO good. We tried the chorizo and cheese and the shrimp one and while we loved both we thought the chorizo and cheese was fantastic!“

“We returned to Porto after we finished the Camino. We had not decided where to have supper the night we arrived, but walking around we were fortunate to have literally stumbled on Incontro Bistrot. We did not have a reservation, but as it was early, we were seated. The staff were just as nice as they could be, and the food was out of this world. We enjoyed it so much that we returned the next evening, with a reservation of course. Everything is fresh and perfectly prepared. You will not be disappointed! Highly recommend!“

“Delicious food - we had mushroom empanadas and a rib steak both of which were delicious and cooked exceptionally. The atmosphere was a little quiet given it was a Saturday night - but that also meant we were able to get a table when surrounding places were full. Not sure why it’s not busier the food is excellent.“

“If you want craft beer, good vibes and great people, this is where you go in Porto. The owner works the bar and is super knowledgeable and friendly. They had a pop up chef cooking the few nights that I stopped by and the food was amazing. Kudos to the chefs! Other than that this place is a fun friendly environment that beckons you back through good music and excellent beer. Cheers Suzy and Dendy!!! Happy 2nd Birthday BaoBab!!!“

“We went in July 2022 but I forgot to leave a review and it was such an amazing experience I thought it’s better late than never! It was a beautiful summer’s day and we had the option to sit inside or outside. We chose the table next to the wall overlooking the river which was so beautiful. And from then everything was perfect.Beautiful looking and tasting dishes, amazing wine and above all top notch service from Rui Santos. What an amazing sommelier and waiter he is. One of the best I have ever come across.Thank you for an experience I will remember for ever.“

“This is the first place that we stopped when we were in Porto. It is really small and absolutely a great place to stop and get some food, wine and beer. The food was really good and a glass of the wine of the day is $3.50. The young fella that took care of us was so nice and told us about the food and that they were serving. We have a one and done rule when we’re traveling, but, if I were going to break the rule it would be at this place.“

“The very small place in the old part of Porto remains a bit hidden. Cocktails up to a maximum of 16 euros are a little expensive. The cutting boards are ok but the prices are affected by the tourist wave that has touched Portò in recent years. A few euros less wouldn't be bad.“

El bacalao cocinado al punto perfecto! Cervezas típicas y muy sabrosas, buen porto.Situado a 1 minuto a pie de Praia da Luz, por lo que un paseo antes o despues es buenisimo, con unas puestas de sol insuperables.“

“Had a wonderful time here. We didn’t have a reservation but cued in 20 minutes before the opening at 7 pm. We didn’t wait for too long and got seated from 7 pm till 8.30 at a pre-reserved table next to the window. We ordered grilled octopus, fried sardines, sautéed squids and one tiger shrimp in orange sauce. We accompanied the food with white wine (alvarinho) Everything we ate was delicious, we specifically ordered the couvert just to dip the bread to the giant tiger shrimp’s dreamy orange sauce. I am so glad we had our last dinner in Porto at this restaurant, a perfect finish to a nice vacation.“

“It has one of the best experience in terms of food and spend time in Porto. Recommend a fish from cold menu and two spoons to taste. You will have 5 different foods to taste, plus vine. With dessert it cost for two people ~95Eur. And we would not hesitate to return back because it was totally worth it. The staff is awesome and very friendly. Recommend book a table in advance, because it's really difficult to get the table the same day.“

“This small family restaurant was our canteen every evening during our stay in Porto. Helder and Riccardo are welcoming, caring, just like Diogo and the rest of the team. The food is healthy and cooked like at home, the prices are very reasonable! Everything is there to make you want to go back. I also recommend Douro wines, a nice selection for good wines. Thank you again for all the good times spent with family thanks to you!“

“After a morning of walking and taking in the sites , we wander down a little street towards the cathedral and fancied a drink. We spotted this little place with terrace and decided to pop in for some soft drinks and a nice refreshing non alcoholic beer.Having a look over the menu, some nibble caught our eye. Served more tapas style here the portions are small but equally mighty in flavour, we enjoyed a not local dish but local to the owner/manager of the slow cooked pork on brioche and it was really lovely, the cod fritter were a delight, but I feel a nice little aioli would have really lifted them. We ordered the chorizo, and although it was very tasty, we expected a little more. This portion size was on the small side. All in all a nice wee stop and we were around 36€ for 3 tapas and olives, two waters, a cola and non alcoholic beer, a tiny wee bit on the more speny side but not massively and in great location to the cathedralStaff were really lovely and attentive“

“This was a great dining experience here for 3 travellers from Sydney. Delicious hake soup, octopus rice and slow cooked lamb shoulder, finished off with a trio of shared puddings. The serving staff were efficiently attentive and helped choose some lovely wines. The chef/owner initiated a discussion about the two regional menus we could choose between and then delivered a beautiful meal. Booking is essential as the space is not large and it seems they would rather turn away random arrivals than risk overextending their team and sacrificing quality.Get there if you can.“
“A fantastic journey through the 10 courses (moments) of this tasting menu + wine pairings. We were there on a quiet night and because we were a party of 6, chose to eat at a table but if you are are a party of 2-4, sitting at the bar in front of the chefs & the kitchen would be ideal. The food is simply incredible - every dish outstanding with some surprises. Service is really attentive. Wine pairings, available for all but two courses were also great and the the sommelier introduces and explains each one, (although no wine with the bread course - What Would Jesus Do?)Yes, it's a journey north of the city but it's worth the Uber and feels like it's only going to get harder to get a table at this amazing place.“

“Lovely experience that I cannot recommend enough. Incredibly fresh and high quality ingredients cooked simply. The octopus in green sauce was cooked perfectly, best octopus I’ve ever had. “Pregar ‘nailed’ it with their Prego no Pão. They were the best we had in Portugal. The thicker cuts of tender, juicy, flavorful meat made all the difference from any other Prego no Pão that we tried. When in Porto, Pregar is a must-try, culinary gem for anyone looking for good quality sandwiches. It was good enough that we went back twice in our one week stay on Porto.“

“An exceptional place. The food, the ambience and the staff are fabulous. The owner is a sommelier and is truly dedicated to providing a great experience for the patrons. He is running the place not as a business machine but as a passion of his. That is what truly makes it unique. A friend of mine and I had a long chat about wine with him and he was so knowledgeable and warm and open. He spent a couple of hours chatting with us and giving us a fantastic taste across an array of lovely Portuguese wines. We are planning on going back to Lisbon for work in a couple of years, but we are definitely going to add a Porto trip to go back to ODE.ps. The owner is also open to selling wine from his collection. Don't miss it if you are after some really good Portuguese wines. Thanks Cristovao! We (Nima & Andre) will back!“
