“Beautiful place in an alleyway on the stairs in Porto. Food was very good and the servers were very friendly. We did have to be active in catching the attention of the two waiters (more than we like to) but it was busy (at no time there was an empty table) and it was obvious that they were working as fast as they could. There was constantly a line of people waiting to be seated and this is no surprise as it is a very nice place to eat. If you are planning on visiting Porto I highly recommend eating here. Even if you have to wait for a couple of minutes to be seated.“

Eliseo is a perfect host that made is feel at ease and he has lots of knowledge of where they get their produce and the quality of the food is nothing short of amazing. Chef Carina’s cooking is 10/10. You can tell that she made everything with love. We got the ribeye steak with potatoes on the side. The meat is so tender and it bursts of flavour. I think this is because of the combination of quality beef and excellent cooking. Great selection of wine from Duoro whether you like fruity, aromatic or elegant. “It is recommended to order freshly fried meat, which is more delicious and crispy. The outer skin is easy to collapse when placed in a thermal insulation box, and the taste is not good. The pork tastes like pig, but the seasoning is not bad.“

“From our experience, Cerca Velha is a pretty nice place to stop by and grab something small to eat and drink. Overall, the food was good but a little inconsistent. The Bifana was definitely the best dish. The staff wasn’t too customer oriented, and the fact that they only take cash and, that you must pay when your order didn’t favor the service. Anyway, the outdoor seating is picturesque and the ambiance is very pleasant.“

“A good place for a larger or smaller lunch. During my stay in Porto, I visited twice. The first time, a delicious sandwich with meat and additions. The selection of sandwiches is huge.
The second one was a quick vegetable soup.

He recommended the cod with greens and potatoes, which ended up being the best dish we had all evening (and one of the best of our entire holiday, too). “I’m someone who truly appreciates good restaurants, and this one is absolutely exceptional!

FOOD:
- The food here is top class, with incredible attention to detail in every dish. I highly recommend the Steak with Queijo da Serra (Serra Cheese) and the Duck Magret with Porto Wine Sauce. Both dishes are exceptionally delicious, boasting a premium taste that is hard to find elsewhere. My friends had the Cod with Cornbread and mentioned that it was excellent as well.
- As for drinks, we enjoyed the White Sangria, which was delightful. The Porto Wine served after the meal was also a perfect finish. Next time, I’ll definitely try a Red Wine to complement the meal.
- For dessert, I would suggest trying the Crème Brûlée and the Portuguese Biscuit Cake; both were great!

SERVICE:
- The service was superb. Everyone was friendly, positive, and very relaxed, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Miss Beatriz, our server, did an excellent job, ensuring that we had everything we needed and felt well taken care of.

ATMOSPHERE:
- The atmosphere was, in my opinion, the best part of the experience. The environment was quiet and peaceful, allowing us to have a conversation without any loud disturbances. It was a wonderfully cozzy and relaxed setting where we could comfortably hear each other. The only suggestion I have is to add a fan or air conditioning, although the fresh air from outside was quite refreshing.

Overall, this was a 10/10 experience, and we will definitely be back.

We had only planned to stop here for a glass of wine while deciding what to do for dinner but ended up staying all evening.

The wine selection is brilliant, you can’t go wrong with any of the cheeses & meats but the prawns were 10/10!

“The food is good, we ordered tapas as a starter, a smoked cheese with xouriço which is very good, however, I found the portion small. The Margarita is delicious, however, when ordering the second one we found that it was very sweet, that is, a good one, the second one was sickening, as you could barely taste the alcohol.
I thought the place was small too, the tables are very close together, the service is very good!!! There were 4 of us and splitting it was €35 each. We each had 2 margheritas, plus what we ordered to snack on. I recommend a visit!!“

Vegetarian options: We were looking for a vegetarian meal. The vegetarian lasagna was absolutely delicious. Along with the mista salad, it was the perfect meal.“

Very delicious Francesinha, mounted sirloin with mountain cheese also very good, high quality meat. The “Chocolate Mountain” dessert is good, I had already tried the same type of cake in Madrid (The Best Chocolate Cake in the World pastry shop, in front of El Retiro)

The only “but” I have is that the waiters are very dry, but otherwise it is a recommendable place“

“The place is cozy. We were lucky and had a table without a reservation on Sunday evening. Very tasty seafood in batter. The salad was ok but cold. It's like it was made in advance and put in the refrigerator. The burger was also a little cold, hence the minus one star.“
