“We stopped in North Hatley a few days ago and had dinner on the terrace overlooking the lake, and the view alone was worth the trip. My husband had the duck and I went with the fish special, both beautifully plated and full of flavor. The staff were warm and attentive without hovering, even walking us through wine pairings without any pressure. We're retired now and get around to a lot of little towns, but this is one of those meals we'll keep talking about for a while.”

“Excellent du début à la fin. Nous avons choisis la table d’hôte, Potage au poireau avec petit pain. Assiette principale Salade, brochettes de légumes et patates Grec, incluant 2 choix de viande a fondu avec 6 sorte de sauce, et j’ai terminé avec un délicieux gâteau au 3 chocolats avec petits fruits et une tisane . Excellent service les serveur et serveuse très attentionné avec de beau sourire, l’ambiance romantique et chaleureux. Pour la st Valentin c’était parfait 😍 je recommande. Nous allons y retourner éventuellement. Tous était excellent. Merci ☺️”

The poutine was excellent, as was the all dressed toasty and hamburger. I'm on vacation in the area for another week and will definitely be coming back. The service was friendly. I couldn't have asked for more.”

“We just visited this wonderful coffee shop and were served by the nicest baristas. We are English speaking. I am trying to refresh my French speaking skills. We had lovely conversation, in both languages. They described how the owner is working so hard to grow the business. We walked out with our coffee and fresh baked treat, and left behind our best wishes for a very successful coffee venture. We love spreading good gossip. You should go visit.”

“We stopped by La Falaise Saint-Michel on a Sunday morning and ended up staying way longer than planned, just chatting over coffee refills. The brunch poutine with the slow-braised short rib was the standout, rich but not heavy, and the eggs were cooked exactly how we asked. Our server kept checking in without hovering, which made the whole meal feel relaxed. The dining room gets great natural light around mid morning, so if you can snag a window table it is worth the wait.”

“Having a breakfast at Cantine du Lac is like taking a trip back in time: the basic fare of eggs and bacon may not be the fanciest or the healthiest by today’s standards, but the fast and friendly service and the authentic mid 20th century layout and decor make for a very special experience we didn’t expect to find when looking for fast affordable breakfast option that didn’t equal MacDonalds! It’s not often these days you get to walk into a place where everybody knows not only each others name, but their whole life story.”
