“The soup dumplings at this restaurant are simply exceptional—probably the best I've had in Montreal. Each bite strikes a perfect balance between the flavorful filling, the delicately seasoned broth, and a wrapper that’s just thin enough to encase it all. You can really taste the quality of the ingredients, which shines through in the freshness and flavor of each dumplings.
The place, though modest in size, is impeccably clean and well-maintained. The service is warm and attentive, always served with a smile, which makes the experience even more enjoyable.

“Their dumplings with extra broth are delicious at a reasonable price, which is rare these days. I don't know of any other restaurant that offers this type of dumpling (but there may be some). Service friendly and fast, but I often show up after rush hour, it's rarely full even if it's It's still small. I try to eat there every time I'm in the Latin Quarter.“

“We each had one serving of noodles and one serving of their wontons to complete the meal and it was delicious. If you like spice they do add the correct amount of spice in the spicy wonton soup
Will definitely come back again. The funny thing was that my friend ordered a Coca-Cola and they gave a mechanic Coca-Cola. I ordered a soy milk as my drink and they gave me 1 l carton of soy milk LOL. Why would that be 1 serving??

“Ordered the combo meals for soup dumplings, chicken wonton soup, fried shrimp, hot and sour soup, egg rolls, and honey yuzu tea. The sweet, hot tea is wonderful on a cold day. The soup dumplings are good, but the skin is slightly thick, in my opinion. Wonton soup broth and sour soup are quite good. Shrimp and egg rolls are just okay.
Parking: All about availability. We went during off peak season so it was easier to find parking.“

“My friend and I were in the mood for Chinese Food and dined at Deer Garden.
The restaurant is clean, well- illuminated and basic in atmosphere.
We ordered Fried Spinach, Shrimp With Chinese Broccoli and Cantonese Fried Noodles.
The Fried Spinach was sugar- coated and brittle to the touch. It was good but an acquired taste.
The Shrimp with Chinese Broccoli was tasty, but the broccoli stalks did not need to be julienned at all. Still, well- flavored.
The Cantonese Fried Noodles had a very good proportion of sauce to noodles, with delicious vegetables covering the noodles. My favorite of the three ordered dishes.
Service was excellent.
BRING CASH, AS CREDIT CARDS ARE NOT ACCEPTED HERE.
I would recommend Deer Garden for good tasting Chinese Food.“

“My wife and I were really in the mood for some good Chinese food and since we were already in downtown Montreal, we decided to walk over to Chinatown which has in my opinion the best Chinese restaurants in Montreal.
We chose a real, “Old School” restaurant named Fung Shing on Boul. Saint-Laurent which has been around since 1976. The interior reminded me of when my parents took me to Chinese restaurants as a kid. Great memories!
We selected from the menu, Hunan Dumplings, Lemon Chicken, Beef with Ginger and Pineapple and Stir Fried Vegetables, and let me tell you we experienced an explosion of flavours from each of these dishes. The portions were extremely large and we could not finish all of our food. The restaurant packaged it up for us to takeout so that we could bring it home and enjoy this absolutely delicious food once again.“

“Very authentic. I ordered the sichuan fish soup which was very large in portion size and tasty. I also got the stir fry vegetables which was just delicious. I think their prices were reasonable for the portion size.
It was a lovely atmosphere where the child of the owner was present, though minding her own business behind the counter. I’m surprised I did not know of this place sooner. Definitely coming back.“

“Got the Mo bun, poulet teriyaki, pork, and mango coconut bao buns. Everything was phenomenal. The Mo bun was my favorite. Will absolutely have to come back and try more. The prices were reasonable, service was good, and buns were delectable. The presentation of the dessert buns was adorable.
You can't go wrong stopping in here for some quick, savory/sweet/tasty buns!

“I have been going to this place before and after covid, and it is still one of my favorite restaurants in Chinatown! Amazing food, large portions, good prices, and a very clean place ! Last time I went, I came in less than 30 minutes before closing time, and not only they let us in, they served us quickly freshly cooked food and were very nice with us despite the late hour. The waitress we had was also very helpful and attentive. Finally, their cooking team was helpful as well and accepted to make some significant changes to their plates to accommodate their menue to our dietary restrictions.“
