“A Hidden Gem in Gatineau – Sans façon Delivers Big on Style, Flavour, and Service Today’s lunch date was completely unplanned—but turned out to be an absolute win. Our original spot was closed for lunch, so my wife remembered a place someone mentioned during a recent workshop. She checked her notes, a few options popped up, and the only one open at the time was Sans façon. One quick look online, and we were immediately intrigued. The aesthetics, the menu, the vibe—it checked all our boxes. So off we went. From the moment we stepped inside, the place just wowed us. The interior design is incredible—modern yet warm, with a touch of Irish decor. We were invited to sit wherever we wanted, and since it wasn’t too busy yet, we actually went table shopping! We checked out the left, the right, and even upstairs before claiming the biggest corner table in the house—usually perfect for a work dinner, but today it was our royal suite for two. Our server, Kaëlle, was exceptional from start to finish. She made us feel right at home, catered to us with a smile, and remained attentive even as the place filled up. We started with oysters—shucked to perfection and beautifully fresh. Then came a side of shrimp to warm up the taste buds. For mains, my wife had the Steak Frites: seasoned perfectly and served at just the right temperature. I went with the AAA Aged Beef Tartar, which wasn’t even on the menu yet—and wow, what a treat. The presentation was stunning, and the flavours absolutely nailed it. Let me say it again—the design of the restaurant is something special. It adds so much to the experience. But the true star? Our waitress. Kaëlle was quick, professional, and clearly passionate about the place. Service like that takes a great meal and turns it into an unforgettable experience. We’re already planning our return and will be recommending Sans façon to all our friends and family. Gatineau has a new favourite.“

“I went to the standard to enjoy a patio on Canada Day. The Waitresses were all wearing masks and respected physical distancing. our table was sanitized. We drank out of pineapple, which was over the top in a good way. I had fish tacos, which were okay but they were a little bit liquidy. my friend had a chicken burger with just the right amount of crunch. it was the perfect patio and the perfect drink in the perfect food on a perfect day.“

“Nous avons tous pris des burgers. Le populaire Holy smoke burger, qui était excellent, et le Champignon truffle cheeseburger très bon et beaucoup de sauce. Le Natchos était excellent et bonne portion pour partager à 4. La salsa et la guacamole étaient légèrement épicée, très bon. Le seul bémol est les accompagnements pour le Natchos (salsa, guacamole et crème sure) étaient des minis bols, beaucoup trops petits pour la grosse assiette de Natchos.“

“Convenient place to get a quick bite. I've had two meals here so far during my stay at the hotel, lunch and dinner. Both were good meals with kind and fast service. The grilled salmon was tasty, served with lots of veggies. The chicken tenders for lunch were yummie too. I think I'll have a few more meals here before going home.“

“I ordered through Uber some wings and fries. I did not mention to separate the fries and wings. I received my order but didn’t eat it because of my OCD (mixed flavours). I called and asked to get some fries. The amazing woman who took my order (the manager?) said that they would be willing to give me another order as long as I picked it up. A few minutes later I had received a call from my partner to come pick them up as she the vehicle had an issue. I had to leave so I called the restaurant back to cancel. They said they would personally deliver my meal. 😯 Wow! This restaurant goes way above and beyond. Unlike a vast majority of restaurants in Ottawa, they actually care! As long as I live in Barrhaven, they have me as a loyal and supportive customer!“

“This was our first time to eat in this lovely restaurant and we just loved it! The place is so clean and inviting with their decor. The food was absolutely delicious and one of the best selection of menus we've ever seen! Everything is freshly cooked to perfection and also very healthy portions! The service was so friendly and speedy too! It will no doubt be one of our favourite places to dine out and can't wait to go back. In fact, we already made a reservation to return later in the week as we found out they have musical entertainment on the weekends! Another added plus!“

“Came for the IESA State Wrestling tournament. swung in for some drinks during a break to celebrate my nephew getting into the Championship. Our server/bartender/ runner/ host/ one man front of house machine GREG!!!! and his cook who we couldn't utilize sadly because only those two were running the place and we had a limited time. Great environment, menu looked amazing, amd great taps available. Gregg acknowledged every person walking through the door got us our drinks with perfect timing and could be seen running the floor to help everyone out. next time We're up north this place will be a for sure stop. and hopefully we can run into Gregg again to get the same stellar service.“
