“Small place, I would even say hidden gem as it is not some very popular area with a lot of people. The place is old but looks pretty clean. Food looks and tastes amazing (BUT very very SALTY for the falafel ? ). The salad and food presentation overall , is very well done. Eggplant ? tastes amazing. Falafel is good. They ask you if you want it spicy or not. Portions are generous and prices are borderline cheap, rather than medium. A falafel plate is about$ 18 including taxes. Small dishes available in plastic containers, easy to take out as well. Verdict : definitely give it a try.Vegetarian options: A lot of vegetarian options.Parking: Street parking .Kid-friendliness: Yes. Small terrace as well.Wheelchair accessibility: A few stairs. Not that easy.“

“We were 2 couples. We all loved our dishes: lamb tagine, royal couscous, couscous paella and Mediterranean grill. We had a really nice evening. The music was not too loud which allowed us to chat with friends. We stayed there for almost 4 hours.“

Once we got there on Saturday night we had the pleasure to have Pamela as our waitress she is 11/10 amazing amazing service. She was kind, helpful and had a smile all night long while serving us. “The food was amazing. I think the place highly improved since the first time we came and the food was delicious and the sauces were tasty. The popcorn chicken was so crispy and so were the potato balls. The food was even aesthetically pleasing and the shawarmas were probably the best part. If it is your first time, I definitely recommend the chicken shawarma. The cook who’s name is Roy was friendly and started a conversation with us to keep us entertained. It was an amazing experience. Definitely not the last time we will be eating here!“

It was so good, and the staff so friendly, every month when I come up to Montreal I book a hotel close by because of this place. “So I’m sure many people will disagree with my ratings but here is why.FoodFries: frozen, pasty, covered in their seasoning which lacks salt and anything to wow you. I don’t like ketchup and had to use ketchup to add flavour and moisture and then realized this and stopped - waste of money period! Don’t sell inferior product and sell at home made pricing.Picketed beet: very good, crisp and freshPita: nicely warmed with zatar seasoning was goodGreen cabbage salad: with lean on, dill, cabbage and some sort of creamy substance - maybe mayonnaise (mit certain) and tahini not sure, was goodHummus spread topped with seasoning and olive oil, average and too smooth.Shawarma: a big let down. It’s as if they cooked the shawarma before, heated it up on a skillet with some oil to moisten it, then sprinkle shawarma seasoning all over it making it dry and over cooked. Not so good.Salad cuit (cooked tomatoes salad) was excellent.Kefta (middle eastern hamburger): not fully cooked, seasoning was so so and lacked moisture. As a non sauce person I found myself needed to dip in to ketchup to add flavour and moisture - and I don’t like ketchup. And they are really small burgers so it should be easy to cook it right.Overall I round that the value to not be so good. I just recently went to a middle eastern restaurant offering the same food, and it was plentiful so much so that two people could eat it and the quality was high and fresh as can be. Shawarma moist and juicy and not recooked and overdone with powder seasoning all over it. This is not (to me) the way it is in the Middle East, it’s their version. If you’re looking for true middle eastern in afraid this is (for the most part) not it. It’s not bad, and it’s not great, it’s just ok - but for the portion I feel pricing a little high. The staff are nice and knowledgeable and the interior is nothing fancy but clean and nice and people aren’t packed in so you have good personal space. Parking in the area is a real challenge and for me it’s not a place I would go a 3rd time. I did come here when they opened and thought the food was a little better or perhaps my memory escapes me. Nonetheless, À chacun ses goûts taste.Vegetarian options: Plenty of selection for vegetarian foodies.Dietary restrictions: Many things are premade but some are not. Just ask and they will try to accommodateParking: I found this difficult as there are an inadequate amount of street parking near the restaurant and the street is also very congested so likely have to find parking on a side road and have a nice walk to the restaurant.Kid-friendliness: Very easy going atmosphereWheelchair accessibility: Access is street level and plenty of space in the restaurant for maneuvering turns etc.“

“Omnivore is one of my favourite restaurants in the city. They have delicious lebanese and middle eastern food that's a good price, and easy to share. The bowls are best shared between two people, and it's a perfect amount for two. The garlic potatoes are some of the best I've ever had. I will definitely be coming back again. The atmosphere of the restaurant is also beautiful with lots of plants, and cozy nooks.“

“We took our 86 year old aunt out for a long awaited Lebanese meal and this restaurant was only 4 min from her place in Laval. We were greeted by friendly and attentive staff and ate one of the best Lebanese food I've had in a long time! The chicken was moist, the salad had a delicious lemon/garlic house dressing like my mom used to make! I highly recommend this place!“

“Best french fries and popcorn chicken i’ve EVER eaten. Absolutely amazing, a crisp to die for in both the fries and the chicken batter. Batter was made on the spot and everything was fried right then and there. Place was a little empty and cold but just take the food to go, you absolutely won’t regret it. A reason alone to go all the way to St-Laurent. Definitely will be going back“

“Petit comptoire sans prétention qui sert des falafels incrablement frais et bons. Il sont dorée et croustillant et tendre et bien vert a l'intérieur. Sûrement parmis les meilleur en ville. Si on les prends en pita in adoreras le choix de garnitures d'une tres grandes qualité. Les Snitzhel sont offert aussi. L'équipe est un peu désorganiser on se demande parfois qui fait quoi mais si non une fois le repas en mains wow!“

“It's the real Armenian Lahmajoun. The polite gentleman who served me spoke excellent French, English and Armenian. I was entitled to taste a Lahnajoun for free.Spicy or not, it's the closest to the real deal. It's pure minced beef meat. There are some other varieties of Armenian cuisine specialties. They accept all credit cards, debit and cash. Ça vaut vraiment le détour si on voudrait se rapprocher de notre cuisine. Merci Boulangerie Sevan“

“Shawarma is one of my favorite foods. I've been looking for good shawarma ever since leaving the Middle East where I lived and worked for a decade. And to be honest, I've never even come close to getting quality shawarma anywhere I've been. Even if a place says it's' authentic' or the 'best in the area', nothing ever came close to the shawarma I had. Well ladies and gentleman, we have a winner; Shawarmaz. This place is so good! As soon as I walked in and saw 9 guys running around making wraps, bringing out fries and slicing shawarma and the 3 shawarmas spinning on the fire, I knew it was gonna be awesome. And it was! I got the chicken shawarma, with roasted potatoes, buckwheat, cabbage, salad, and beets. Topped with spicy sauce and garlic sauce, this stuff was absolutely delicious. I got the large bowl and unrepentantly ate every last bite. I think I paid 19 Canadian for the large and though it felt a bit steep, I left 100% satisfied with my awesome meal. Five stars. Best shawarma I've had outside of the Middle East. Highly recommended.“

“Amazing hidden gem in Montreal that deserves all its flowers. The owners are very loving. Feels more like home than a restaurant ❤️ The prices reflect this and if you’re looking to dine out and eat healthy all while saving money (especially considering the cost of living right now) this is the spot to try. Everything is amazingly fresh! And portions are huge!! Spent 30 and will have food for supper and a breakfast tomorrow. Pictures speak for themselves (this bowl of soup was only 6$ and amazingly fresh and tasty!)“

“My comment relates specifically to this particular branch of "Arouch", as I am not familiar with the others, if any.The place is always clean, spacious, tidy and organized. The products are very good, nutritious, of excellent quality in all respects. The owner is a nice guy. A very wise businessman, but at the same time a warm person, a gentleman. For years, all the employees who have served me in this establishment have been simply impeccable. They are all polite, helpful, competent, dynamic, smiling and friendly (with a special mention for the exceptional Katya).“

“This is probably the best Syrian Mediterranean food in the city. We started with the vegan platter. A little pricey for what you get. The Mouhara is the best part and the vine leaves. We had the small kebbe nayyeh which was quite good and fresh. We then had lamb and the filet mignon in the red sauce and some shish taouk chicken. The filet and the lamb were the real winners. The portions are definitely on the small side. We skipped dessert as we're not fans of the choices. Service was friendly. For authentic Syrian in a quiet atmosphere its very nice“

“Boustan's Crescent catered for our group of 50 people with excellent service every step of the way. They accomodated vegan and gluten free diners with delicious food! The Shiitake mushrooms were cooked so well some of the group couldn't believe they were mushrooms and not chicken. Garlic potatoes of course are a fan favourite, I will be stopping by for my personal lunches as well!“

“Nestled in the heart of Laval lies a culinary gem that never fails to impress—Beroya Restaurant. From the moment you step foot into this cozy eatery, you're transported on a sensory journey through the vibrant flavors of Lebanese and Syrian cuisine.Recently, I had the pleasure of treating my twin daughters to dinner at Beroya, and from the onset, I knew it was going to be an exceptional experience. Having frequented this establishment before, I was already familiar with the high standard of their fare, but this visit surpassed all expectations. Our meal commenced with an array of appetizers that set the tone for the culinary delight that followed. The tabouleh, a quintessential Levantine salad, transported me back to my childhood with its fresh, herbaceous flavors that mirrored those of my mother's recipe. Accompanying it was the hummus—a true test of authenticity—and I was delighted to find it surpassed my expectations, evoking memories of dinners enjoyed in Lebanon itself. But the delights didn't stop there. We indulged in an assortment of mezze, including perfectly crispy fries, decadent cheese rolls, and an array of other tantalizing dishes that tantalized our taste buds and left us eager for more. For our main course, we opted for the succulent kafta kabob and arayes, and we were not disappointed. The kabobs, bursting with juices and flavor, were grilled to perfection, showcasing the culinary mastery of the chefs at Beroya. Each bite was a symphony of taste, further enhancing our dining experience.Yet, what truly sets Beroya apart is not only the outstanding quality of its cuisine but also the impeccable service and ambiance. From the warm welcome we received upon arrival to the attentive care of the staff throughout our meal, every detail was meticulously attended to, ensuring a memorable dining experience from start to finish. As we savored our final bites and reluctantly bid farewell to Beroya, we couldn't help but reflect on an exceptional evening we had just experienced. If you find yourself in Laval and craving authentic Lebanese cuisine, do not hesitate to visit Beroya. With its tantalizing blend of Lebanese and Syrian flavors, it's a culinary journey that's not to be missed. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.“

“I will be honest. The place is a bit filthy. They heat the potatoes in the microwave. And some side dishes like vegetables can start to lack freshness at the end of the day. BUT! Don't be put off by these little flaws! This is the BEST SHISH TAOUK SANDWICH IN MONTREAL!!! The chicken: EXCELLENT! Best garlic sauce I've tasted (and I've tasted a lot)! Best garlic potatoes too! And the BEST SHARWAMA TOO!!1!!1! In the end, it's subjective, but I assure you that once I discovered this restaurant, I abused it... and without regret! Every time I eat my shish taouk, it's a taste orgasm. NO JOKE! Monsieur Shish Taouk is a hidden gem in our city. Long live shish taouk and this restaurant!Update 7 years later:Still so delicious. I have been there at least 25 times in the last 7 years. I let myself be tempted by the falafels which are not my first choice usually. But oh my! I was not deceived! It was once again delicious. And the owner is always so friendly and loyal to the job! The prices are very reasonable too! Note that the place has had a little facelift that makes it even more cozy. Go for it!“

“Food is very good, the Magic Poutine is what we tried. Service is good and even with a lot of clients, they were fast to deliver. The only reason i don't give 5 stars is that the floor was not cleaned prior to the shift, it was greassy and slipery.“

“The tasting menu was incredibly good! Delicious, generous portions, affordable. Ève and the whole team received us very well and responded to our needs. The only downside would be that the place is small and, therefore, difficult to access for fat people (chairs with armrests, little space between tables to move around).Vegetarian options: Lots of interesting options“

“Been going to karoun for many many many years, food is always good, place is always clean, I miss the lady who used to work there, her kindness was what made you want to go back, she was always sweet, I went to karoun last week and noticed she wasn’t there anymore, I asked the guy working there and he said he got rid of her, that he wants only new and young staff and young clients too! I was like wow so I can’t bring my aunt or grandmother here ? He made me feel very uncomfortable!, he renovated the whole place which is great, but his comments about wanting to have only young clients and staff really put me off.“
