“Hands down, without a doubt or competition, simultaneously one of my favorite meals and most memorable dining experiences I had during my short work trip to Montreal.

When I searched up “Korean food in Montreal” during my intense craving for warm, comforting, asian food in a new city, this place popped up on multiple lists, recommendations, and Google Maps. After a long day and a light stroll through Old Montreal, I finally had the chance to(and was determined to) come here on Friday evening. I was kind of concerned that I wasn’t going to get in because 1) I’ve had multiple occasions of restaurants turning me away well before their closing time in Montreal (Which is still a mystery I’m) trying to solve 🤣😅, and 2) Well, it’s Friday night! Luckily, I was able to get in after a short 5-minute wait, and although I was a lone wolf and would be perfectly content with being tucked away in the corner with a small table to myself, the (who I later found out to be) Owner ended up seating me in a big table by myself- felt kind of guilty, but also so kind!

The drinks and the food came out very quickly, I wont touch on the beer, because beer is beer lol, but the Spicy Pork Grill….first of all, the HUGE portion that only came out to $21?! In this economy? Secondly, the intense sizzling sound as the dish came out of the kitchen was enough to claim its #1 spot, but above all - the rich marinade without being too salty, the onions that cut through and help balance the fattiness of the pork, the perfectly cooked warm and fluffy rice…I honestly can conjure up the taste and how the dish made me feel just through writing this review. I had intended to pack 1/2 of it to go for my hotel room later, I promise, I did. I ended up walking out with a full and satisfying belly and a completely empty plate 🫣🤣

When I was paying, I chatted with the owner (well, the daughter of the owner), who told me how she used to live in Vancouver (I’m visiting from Vancouver), and just generally a bit about the history of the place. I feel such warmth and comfort from the food and hospitality - which, when you’re in a city/ place for the first time, is truly an irreplaceable feeling.

“It's a small place so not a lot of room to sit down and eat but it's a great place for take-out. I regularly go order some of their Ramyeon for lunch and I've never been disapointed. I also tried their Bing Su during the summer, it's pretty good and a good alternative for ice cream.“

“We ordered takeout last year and found their foods were surprisingly good even after 45min back home. A year later, finally get the chance to try it on the spot. Excellent food.

Recommend to try their rock bowl bibimbap, at this particular restaurant, their bibimbap just taste different after being charred by the bowl.

Their seafood Spicy Tofu soup is also very flavorful, I'd say almost the best we've tried around Montreal. Is has a very deep seafood umami.

The seafood pancake, was alright, although we found the portion a bit small, not worth $18... Their fried chicken is decent, wish they could be crispier and the portion is also quite small for $40.

Overall, this is a very good Korean restaurant (in the top 5, of the ones I've tried) and definitely recommend you to try it out if you are around the area. 👍🏻“

“Celebrated my birthday with friends, and discovering that Momo and Nayeon from TWICE were dining at the same restaurant made the night even more fun. The staff also surprised me with a kroffle topped with ice cream, and it was super yummy. I’d definitely come back!“

“First off, I have to mention how cozy the place is. Very homey vibe; you’re literally walking into an apartment, but it’s setup like a resto. It does feel a bit small, but I enjoyed that aspect. Feels a bit more.. private, I suppose.

Next up, food and service. The food was absolutely amazing! We had ordered the seafood platter to share, along with the banchan sides and a few extra appetizers (yuhkwe(beef tartar) and dakgangjeong(fried chicken)). Every bite was incredible and fresh; by the end of the meal, I was soo stuffed, but I still wanted more, hahah.

Service itself was great! Servers were attentive, and explained the menu clearly. We barely had to ask any questions. Although, we did have a slight timing issue with the food.. but that was easily resolved. Everything made it to our table in the end, and satisfaction was achieved!

“I’ve been coming here for a few years now, mainly for their onigiri. They are always fresh, filling, and consistently good. I finally tried the bibimbap today and I can’t believe I waited this long. I got the beef one and it was amazing. It was very flavorful, well balanced, and really comforting.

The ladies working there are always kind and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. It is such a cozy and reliable go to spot. Highly recommend. !!“

“very solid restaurant for korean foods. the menu has a great selection and the prices are decent. i enjoyed my beef japchae, and the teokbokki tasted great as well.
nothing much worth noting, it is a a proper place for average korean cuisine, there are many like it and it doesn't necessarily stand out.“

“So good. I had the fried calamari and bibimbap. The fried calamari are by far the best I ever had. So tender. The beef bibimbap was great. Serve in a hot bow,l I recommend that you let the rice crisp up at the bottom before mixing the egg. The service was great too. I forgot the name of the drink but it was very good. It's the one made from Soju and yuzu. It's a small place with a soft atmosphere. Next time I'm in Montreal I will absolutely eat there again.“

“We went on a Friday evening in a group of three. It was perfect. All the food was delicious. The atmosphere was sort of busy, happy, bustling, celebration. Everybody was having a good time.

“Good Korean restaurant. We had a reservation so didn’t have to wait to be seated. However, it took a long time for them to hand out menus and take our order because it was a busy night (Twice concert at Bell Centre) and they were understaffed. Luckily, food came out quickly. Food was good but a bit too oily.“
