About Ginkgo Café & Bar

Ginkgo Café & Bar is a charming and cozy cafe with a nice atmosphere, featuring lots of big windows and natural light. The menu offers a good variety of dishes, and some items like the Trio Pancakes and three cheese crepe are highly praised for their flavor and quality. The pancakes, especially the chorizo one, are described as flavorful and satisfying, while the three cheese omelette and potatoes are also enjoyed. The beef poutine is another highlight, appreciated for its melty cheese curds, caramelized onions, bacon bits, and unique sauce, making it a favorite for some guests.

However, the overall service at Ginkgo Café & Bar could be improved. On some days, the restaurant appears understaffed, leading to longer wait times for service, missing glasses, and unrecognized staff attire. Customers noted that their orders were sometimes incorrect, and in one case, staff responded graciously by replacing the meal and offering the original. Although the food is generally good, some found the pricing a bit high given the dated and mismatched furniture and the loud, lively environment, which is not ideal for studying or quiet dining. Service quality varies, with some guests experiencing delays or lack of attention, but others appreciated the friendly and accommodating staff.

Despite these issues, the cafe remains a popular spot for tasty food, a cozy vibe, and a lively atmosphere. Improvements in staffing, service consistency, and presentation could elevate the overall experience.

Accommodated a 6-person walk-in! Merci!

Julia the goat she is the best deserves every promotion

It was very okay. The entrance isn’t very welcoming and looks like it is under construction. Once we were seated, we probably waited about 15 minutes before being greeted by our server. Not a huge deal, but there were only 4 other tables at this point. Food was fine but I was not a fan of the breakfast poutine.

The decor was aesthetic and it seemed like they had a nice patio. But the washrooms need work. Great music though
