Yokato Yokabai Ramen is a popular ramen restaurant in Montréal, known for its flavorful dishes and cozy atmosphere. The dim lighting gives the place a Japan-like feel, making it a good choice for date nights. Customers can customize their ramen using a card, adding a personal touch to their meal. The restaurant’s broth and fresh ingredients are its highlights, setting it apart from other ramen spots. Dishes like takoyaki are praised for their quality and taste, though some find the prices a bit high. Visitors can enjoy the vegetable ramen with creamy soy and tofu broth or small side dishes like radish and ginger, ensuring a memorable experience. The staff is friendly, and wait times are usually short, around 10 minutes on a busy Friday evening. While the restaurant does not serve alcohol, the neighboring establishment sharing the same owner offers alcoholic beverages. Recent reviews note that the chicken broth ramen has a deeper umami flavor than the pork, and the noodles are exceptional. However, the fried chicken is sometimes less crispy than expected. Some customers have expressed disappointment with the quality of the pork shoulder, which has declined in recent visits, unlike the tender, melt-in-your-mouth cut it once was. Overall, Yokato Yokabai Ramen remains a great place, especially for its cocktails and broth, despite occasional issues with certain dishes.
