“We took our son and wife for their b/days on Sat. Oct 4 2025. No waiting, Place clean, ambience good, waiter great. It was our 1st time and in general the food was very good,(filet mignon, done to taste, Salmon, fries ,which were dry, tasteless and cold. Frozen fries are way tastier at the fast food restaurants; McDonald's, Harveys, A+W. etc. With a restaurant of this calibre we certainly expected fresh fries. It really spoiled our dinner, as we all chose fries with our meals. It's nearly insulting. If you don't have the facilities to offer fresh fries, then just serve baked or mashed. Sorry! it really left us with a bd taste in our mouths. Will we go again??? Not so sure! Sadly! P.S the stars are not right. Overall 4 stars, Food is 4 stars, service is 5 stars and atmosphere is 5 stars“

“Great place with plenty of parking and excellent service.

The food is underwhelming and bland however. Underseasoned is an understatement.

We had Dimsum and it was generally ok.
The chicken feet were good.
The dumplings seemed starchy and bland.
The hot and sour soup was neither hot or sour - easily fixed.
Fried stuff was ok.

Overall it is a repeat for us based on the fantastic service.

“My second time in less then a month (May & June 2023). The portion is huge, the quality is excellent. We took the Mega meal at 199.99$CAD (Mega family portion) with calamari plate at 17.99$CAD... everything was excellent or great. Hope they will continuted those portion & be honnest in their price. It's a must to go. They have much other things in their menu at 20$CAD or more... fo my case, it was a birthday issue (small group). It's a ***** (5 stars) for sure :)“

“I found this place while staying at a hotel nearby. I wanted a quick light dinner. I cannot read the French menu, however the owner was quite helpful. I chose the Tuna Poke bowl which was quite delicious with very fresh ingredients! I finished every last bite of that bowl and now wish I would of purchased a second one of salmon! Next time I'm back in town I will support this business again!“

“First time here and it didn't disappoint. Decided why hold back....took the grilled octopus. I know octopus is always expensive. It was flavorful and tender. Then took the 17oz rib roast. It was the best ive had so far. Didn't get a lot of au jus on the plate so but I should have asked for more. Also ordered a baked potato but it came plain...others had their loaded. Was never asked how I wanted it...just thought their would have come loaded. For dessert I wanted to try the key lime pie but they didn't have any. Soni took the cheesecake....it was ok but I'm particular with my cheesecakes. overall a great experience but a fairly expensive one. Would come back for special occasions.“

“We had a surprising good meal at this hotel restaurant! The chef knows what he’s doing, for sure. The chicken chasseur in particular was outstanding. Steak was cooked medium rare as ordered. The staff were also terrific, and the pricing was reasonable. We’d stay at this hotel or nearby next time we’re transiting Montreal just to come back to Le Semaphore.“

“I originally gave a 5 star but changed my mind when I had to wait 20 minutes to pay my bill. Good food and very pleasant atmosphere but owner needs to hire more staff. The place was packed. Our server was excellent but was running around a lot serving many tables. It took 20 minutes to pay for our bill after getting it. Again, not the fault of our server cause she was really busy and only 2 servers in the entire place…and one of them was also working the bar area. It’s ridiculous to treat staff that way. Anyway, other than that, it’s a place you should visit.“

“We went Saturday evening and the food is still good, steak with pepper and mushroom sauce, Caesar salad, Greek potatoes, fries, rice, everything is delicious :) The waiter, I forgot his name, but we were there table no 31, very friendly, smiling, very attentive despite the large crowd and from what I understood there was a lack of staff and even if the service was very long almost 1 hour, I have nothing negative to say.
We were in a hurry because we had a show planned, we were afraid of arriving late but the understanding of the waiter brought us dishes very quickly to bring the leftovers that we didn't have time to finish and our bill allowed us to to arrive on time. “Excellent pizza, it's my place. I had ordered at one point and my pizza was overcooked, I was very disappointed and I reported it to the restaurant. I was given a credit for a free pizza. I thought it was great of them. And I ordered yesterday, it was excellent as always. I highly recommend. If you have a problem contact them directly, they are very open to comments.“

“I saw this restaurant on tik tok and thought I should pay a visit. So glad I did. I went there with a party of 5 and everyone was extremely pleased. It’s an old school place that serves soup salad and dessert with ur meals. The food was delicious every plate was better than the other. One thing that stands out is their house salad dressing it was so good that I had to buy some to take home. We will definitely be back and I recommend this restaurant to everyone“
