We were seated in first level dining room. No music and very sterile ambience. When we arrived for our reservation we were told other guests would be seated in lower level as well. Never happened!
It's a lovely old building, parking is not too bad. The food was excellent - nicely executed sushi and sashimi for the most part. There are just a few tables and it was full but not noisy. The service was a bit patchy and we had to wait for menus. One ordered item came out after everyone else had finished eating but they did comp that. Desserts also didn't come at the same time. Love the food here. Always good. The downstairs dining room is not nice. It's draughty when the door opens and feels neglected versus the upstairs. Our server was lovely and thanked us for our patience but the fact was that service was really slow. Not just the elaborate food items. It also took 25 minutes to bring us edamame and I had to ask twice to get my sake which then turned up about half an hour after it was ordered. Understaffed?
