“First off, let’s start with the space. I’m visiting from a big cityyy so my expectations can be a little high — but this place is absolutely breathtaking. The vibe is cozy, upscale, and still relaxed enough to just kick back and enjoy. It feels refreshing and thoughtfully designed without trying too hard.

Bianca, the bartender who helped me out, was incredible. She has such a well-crafted, extensive specialty knowledge and was amazing at guiding me through the menu when my indecisiveness kicked in (which happens often). She’s relatable, friendly, a little edgy in the best way, and the space felt very queer-friendly and welcoming because of that energy. I’m already looking forward to coming back and chatting it up with B again.

Only small con: the payment process. It would be a nice upgrade to have handheld devices so guests don’t have to give up their phones to close out. Small detail, but it would elevate the experience even more.

“The Watermark Cafe is RISD (Rhode Island School of Design) owned dining venue. Though many RISD students come here regularly, the general public seem to always drop by and enjoy toasty treats and healthy meals. The cafe serves excellent fresh sandwiches, wraps, burritos, soups, salads, fruit, local yogurt, organic smoothies, espresso drinks, fair trade coffee, and organic tea. A lot of the stuff is kept local, organic, and healthy-conscious.“

“I only gave 4 stars because I only had 1 thing to eat. Ill return and if it stays consistent, it will go to 5. This is cute Lil place in Richmond square building. It sits in the open, but has about 4 2-seat tables. I had a bagel which was nice and there are a lot of tasty looking sandwiches on the menu, that I look forward to trying. Its a cute set up, and the gentleman behind the counter was very friendly. He let me try a small sample of his very popular red beans and rice. Its very similar to a Louisiana dirty rice type dish, it has a small bite but nothing to over powering. He has some delicious looking baked desserts as well. I had little time to stay and try what I wanted, but Ill make more time my next visit.“

“Fantastic. They made me the best iced mocha I've had since I've been back in the US, exactly to order, and the bagels are great. They have less wasteful packaging than most places these days, too; not super-eco, but they haven't completely given up, like most coffee places in New England. And there are lots of places to plug in a laptop and chill by a window. I'll definitely be back.

Parking: I don't think this is a driving neighbourhood.

Wheelchair accessibility: The building is a bit of a rabbit warren, alongside a bit of a hill—there may be wheelchair access, but it isn't obvious.“

I was credited for the missing items on DoorDash, but I wanted to see what happened to them. When I called, the manager Holly confirmed the driver had left the items behind. I'd recommend that you pay the extra $2.00 for the biscuit upgrade and not skimp; it makes a big difference. My friend ordered the breakfast sandwich on an English muffin and it was good, but not quite as good as on the biscuit. The coffee here is also excellent. If you're planning to stay at the cafe, you should know that it can be tough to get a table. A lot of customers seem to study or work here for extended periods, so tables only infrequently become available. I'd recommend ordering your food and drink to go by default whenever you visit; you can always nab a table if you're lucky enough to have one become available while you wait for your order.“
