I recently had the pleasure of dining at El Rey de Las Pupusas, and I couldn't be happier with my experience. What drew me to this restaurant was the option of two different sizes for their Pupusas, and I decided to try both the regular and the larger size. My absolute go to place for Central American food. The flavours are rich and authentic. It's the one place I utterly love the tortillas because they taste homemade and always come out hot and fresh. As soon as I unwrap it, the smell of the corn tortillas fill up the air. In terms of frijoles and rice, I just cannot get enough. It's not salty like quite a few places and the rice is cooked with butter. To further add, their horchata tastes genuine and not the packaged ones.

Tomato salsa was not anything special, but their jalapeño salsa that we put on a tostada with refried beans and queso fresco was good. I had the Bandeja Salvadoreña as my entrée so I could get a taste of everything. It came with a cut of grilled meat I couldn’t identify, Spanish rice and beans, roasted yuca, and a very simple salad.
