“We stop here every day. The coffee is great, as expected. The service is also very good, as expected. Now let us discuss the drive through…. There is a problem with the drive through. The constraints of this particular location are very real. The drive through is designed to direct patrons around the building to enter the line. When traffic is light you can simply drive straight into the line without going around the building. The problem arises when traffic is heavy. Many patrons simply will not go around the building. What this does is block patrons from entering or exiting the location. I was stuck there yesterday as the line to exit grew, the line to enter grew to the street blocking the nearby businesses. It was gridlocked until the line moved. And the line couldn’t move, so we all sat. Many potential customers farther back in line were making risky turns just to get out of the line(taking their money with them). I’ve personally witnessed heated exchanges between drivers as this gridlock continued. A potential solution is as follows: There are preexisting markings on the driveway intended to direct patrons around the building so the drive through may function as intended. If you place tall traffic cones along the outter lines of the existing white markings it would gently direct those who don’t know that they’re supposed to go around. It would also help to prevent those more “self focused” from spoiling the customer experience for everyone else. You can’t fix the geographic limitations of the Charleston Highway location in Cayce, SC. But, with a few traffic cones placed on preexisting markings, you can improve the patron experience and potentially boost revenue.“
