“Just visited DW Lakeside for the first time and it definitely will be a new favorite. Mussels appetizer was better than I've had in Charleston. Served with plenty of black kalamata olives and warm bread. Fish bites were not too breaded. High praise for the chef. Our server, Grant, was attentive. Quick service. Great location on Lake Murray clubhouse. One encouraging note...they were out of several condiments, but the tasty food made up for it. Reasonably priced drinks. My only disappointment was that children and guests at the bar did not wear masks nor did they wear masks when transitioning from bar to dining room. Otherwise, a most wonderful experience“

“My husband and I ate at Higher Ground for the first time Monday. We had the fried mushrooms for an appetizer and I had the pimento cheeseburger and he had the bacon double cheeseburger and seasoned fries. The food was amazing and delicious. The waitress was attentive had a sweet personality and gave great suggestions on what to order. It was a very cool temperature inside to eat on a hot day! I highly reccomend this place! Very clean inside! We will be back!“

“Small little place and can use some serious upgrade on their furniture and dining area. But they have good steaks and a good hamburger. They serve a lot of their meals with those wonderful croissant rolls. The waitresses are usually nice. And we’ve been back multiple times. I do have a small complaint, and it’s that no matter what you buy if you want a little extra, you pay for it example extra sour cream on your baked potato, extra butter on your baked potato, extra salad dressing for your salad, now I get it if it’s something like extra bacon on your salad , but extra dressing on your salad? Nobody puts enough dressing on a salad you always want more anyway I think that should be built into their cost. Otherwise it makes people think they’re being nickel and dime. Again I usually don’t ask for a lot of that so it doesn’t bother me too much and I keep going back .“

“Great place on the lake to enjoy live music!“

“The food was delicious, just make sure you call ahead to find out what’s on the buffet that day. I had a little bit of everything and everything seemed to be fresh! The hash and rice were great and I loved the Mac and cheese! Not dry, but not soupy! The fried chicken had a great breading that wasn’t too thick and you actually got more chicken than breading.

Parking: They have a very large grass and dirt lot outside the restaurant, honestly probably more parking than could actually be held in the restaurant.“

“The food is good and the people are chill. Has a locals only, hole-in-the-wall vibe.

Favorites: sriracha chicken quesadilla, the loaded fries, the philly, and the surprisingly good greek salad. My husband always gets the burger.

Room for improvement: kids menu. I know it's a bar, but we order to-go a lot and bring home to the kiddo. Would love if they would throw a kids basket of tenders + side or mini corn dogs + side on the menu.“
