This unassuming local favorite has a homey country diner atmosphere, delivered in a meat and three format (an entree plus two sides and a rice dish).I can unequivocally recommend their crab balls - they were delicious! On Saturdays they have a fried seafood platter that is full stop amazing, you get a ton of great food (crab balls, scallops, fish, oysters, shrimp) that is relatively inexpensive!
Just simply Love this place!! When I lived and worked in Charleston I would have lunch here everyday. I had the pleasure to meet Mrs. Bertha back then and some of the family. I live in Florida now and my wife and kids fell in love with this restaurant too, every chance when visiting this is our soul food go to place! Never disappointed!!

Fried pork chop was on point, as usual. The butter beans are more like a soup and have so much flavor, as did the cabbage. Sweet tea is sweet, but that’s how it’s supposed to be made. ❣️
