A recent takeout order wasnt the usual high quality (due to an equipment issue i found out later). When I commented on a survey stating the problem, I received a phone call from the OWNER ! He apologized, explained the issue, & then refunded our purchase with a gift card ! This is such an impressive and rare act of customer attention that I wanted to share. “Had the spicy chicken biscuits. It was good, the chicken was a crazy thick piece and crispy. The biscuit was great, classic southern butter biscuit. The hashbrown was okay, it was crispy but not burnt, however, it didn’t have much seasoning but that’s okay ketchup helps lol. There was no line so that was nice to get in and out fast. Definitely will be back to try more options.

“We have gone to Southhouse for years and will still. Everything has been great, however, yesterday afternoon, we had the poorest service ever. Waitresses need to know that they create public relations. Smile some and take time more. Usually such has been great, but not yesterday!“

“The food tastes great and the atmosphere is so cozy!!! Only thing is I ordered the Hash Bowl with extra seasoning and over easy eggs. The eggs were more cooked than over easy, more like over hard and when i asked for extra seasoning, there was NO seasoning on my bowl :( also barely any goat cheese so sad

“Went from a 5 star to less than 1 if I could. All workers gathered talking. They have about 50 pieces chicken already made. Not under a light ... All sides were gross. Mac and cheese and the rice both was all stuck together from being out so long. I've had better. Way better. Very disappointed. $23 and didn't half eat our meals. Prices are going up so service should be going up as well. If they are making more and more than I'd suggest they also put in more effort. 6-2-25 @ 5:20pm. “I can’t say enough good things about Southern Palate Catering. We used their services for our wedding in April 2022. Most of the compliments we received from the wedding were about the food! We worked with Denise, the chef and owner of Southern Palate. She always got back to me promptly and was always willing to meet with me face to face anytime I needed during the planning process. My husband and I always dreamed of having Mexican food at our wedding. Denise already had an option on the catering menu for Mexican stations and it was just what we were looking for! They homemake everything, even the tortilla chips (which were amazing), and were able to accommodate my gluten allergy with anything I wanted. Denise made sure all of her employees knew I was gluten free and they served me and my husband the whole night so that we didn’t have to worry about taking the time to get our own food. They even packed us a to go box full of every food item at the wedding so that we were able to eat at our hotel after. They took all the stress off of us on our special day and I can’t thank them enough. I highly recommend using them for any event and I will definitely be using them for any catering needs in the future.“

“Wonderful experience with excellent food selections. Group of 18 dined here and we had exceptional service, food was cooked to perfection as well as good dinner choices. The staff were professional, nice, helpful, and courteous. The ambience and decor sets the mood for a perfect dining experience. The salmon and crabmeat dish were excellent. The specialty drinks were delicate and tasty. The plated food was beautifully made. Oh and the plates the food was served on adds a special touch as it is different sets of real beautiful china!!! We enjoyed dining here and we didn’t feel rush to leave! Happy hour was great too!“

“The “new” Roost is very nice to look at and the outdoor seating is fantastic for people watching and relaxing. Drinks were very good as well. But the food... underwhelming. Turkey Reuben was dry and lacked flavor. The Parmesan truffle fries were pretty good. My daughter's burger just ok. Elevate the food and you will have a great spot!“
