“A real nice restaurant. A menu for most tastes and appetites. I went on a weeknight. It was busy but not overly. I had the soup of the day (a veggie-based creamy) and the calamari and kale salad. They have starters, smaller dishes, larger entrees, desserts, and plenty of beverage options. They change the menu regularly. It can be expensive, or moderate, depending on your selections.“

“Boy is this place hoppin’!The line went out the door by 11 on the Saturday me and my mom went, but we had gotten there just before that and were able to find a seat outside. We saw like 3 bridal parties too.The food was awesome, I got the special while my mom got the half breakfast plate. The jams from the jam bar are hand-made and very yummy! The sweet tea was good, and my mom noted that her latte was totally legit. The line cuts right through the main dining area and I felt bad watching people struggle to get to their seats through it. I felt a little claustrophobic standing in line, and it was also kind of loud, so the outdoor seats were nice to have as an option. It can also be noted that even though there were a lot of people, it seemed like everyone was able to find seats.Other than that, no complaints, after all it’s not their fault they have so many customers!“

The building is historic and a bonus to enjoy before or after the meal. The food is very good for the price, with an outstanding variety. The crab legs and shrimp alone are enough to make the meal worthwhile. I recommend an early reservation time if noise is an issue.“

“We were told this was a must visit restaurant. Parking was difficult- had to drive around to find an empty meter as it was before the 6pm cutoff. I thought the menu choices were limited. My husband had the Shrimp and Grits which he loved. I ordered the chicken and waffles. I thought the serving was small. It tasted good although the waffle was somewhat burnt underneath. The honey sracha sauce was hot! but very good. If you go be sure to sign up for their Social Club for a $5 off coupon.“

“If you are looking for a great brunch place to eat in Asheville try this little gem of a restaurant that has outdoor or indoor seating available. The outdoor seating is covered in the colder months with heaters out there. This establishment thrives on cooking Cajun style cuisine and I was throughly impressed with my shrimp po boy sandwich. The only disappointing part of the whole meal was they had bloody Mary's and I had one but it just tasted like they dumped tomato juice in it. Note to the owner by pre-mixed bloody Mary mixture, so at least it will have a good flavor.“

“After following them for years, I finally got to try out their food on Sunday at New Belgium in Asheville. I had the fried oyster sandwich. Probably the BEST fried oysters I've every had... tender, crispy and perfect. Unfortunately I couldn't have the sauce that they put with it because it contains milk, and they didn't offer me an alternative. So I just put some crystal hot sauce on it. My husband had the Seintan sandwich (vegan) that was spiced to taste like Italian sausage. He said it was quite good, and would order again.“

“We both had a combo tray, ribs and brisket. Ribs were St Louis style, dry rub with a bbq sauce on the side. The basket and ribs were great. The brisket slice could have been ticker, but was juicy. I had okara and collared greens both were excellent. Mac & cheese and baked beans were fair. You ordered when you walked in, sat down at a table and within minutes your food was there. “We took a day trip from Black Mountain to Asheville and wanted somewhere close to downtown with excellent ratings, so we came here. I ordered the Hot Honey Chicken sandwich and my wife (who eats gluten-free) was excited to try a bite since all their fried chicken breading is gluten-free. I really like the spice with the honey mixed together. However, I'm a big sauce guy, and this sandwich could've been excellent with a little more sauce. The bread, which was really soft and delicious, was pretty thick, soaking up what sauce there was. We ordered ranch and I think with a full cup, it would've been perfect, especially with the goat cheese, which was a great addition. However, they were out of ranch except for a small cup which we shared as a table. Overall, a really good meal and I would come here again.“

“Passing through on our way to Fayetteville and wanted a spot where we could all find something we liked, and wouldn't all be totally weighed down. In the hallway you can see all the magazines they've been written up in and I would concur. Something for everyone. I loved that you could order breakfast or lunch. We got: Bow to the king, pancakes, chicken bacon sandwich, spinach & potato pancakes, tofu scramble, and the southwestern omlette. Also a side of hot honey carrots and cinnamon apple slices. Loved the list of sides you could add to anything. The chicken - they do it right, so good! A nice light non-greasy coating. Everyone was happy with thier selection. The spinach potato pancakes was creamy and fluffy. The jam on the table was outstanding. I liked that nothing was overly sweet like many places you find in the south. Would def recommend the apples. Lots of seating in front and back of the restaurant. And both our server and what I presume to be the owner stopped by the table asking how it was and what they could do to make it better. I told him I'd give it 4 stars because I never (or very rarely give 5) so he wanted to know what would make me give it a five. Small things but would go back!“
