“Absolutely terrific. My wife and I come from Long Island, so we know our seafood. The mussels were amazing, a meal in themselves. My wife loved her octopus. I had fish and chips better than what I had in England. Friendly staff, great service. 10/10!“

“Restarted, it with crab stuffed mushrooms and spinach, crab meat oysters. They were delicious then we ended it with two lobsters, potatoes and corn and also a salad. Everything was delicious and our waitress was so kind. She even cracked our lobster and took all the meat out of it for us..“

“Went 11/16, the day after they re-opened following the ongoing devastation to Asheville and the region. We sat at the counter and enjoyed watching chef Ashleigh prepare our food.
GHF Sando was solid. It's stacked comically high, so don't be shy about smashing it with your palm for a manageable eating experience. I thought the white bread would be inferior to a bun, but it worked out well. I wish I'd asked for more sauce and pickles.
The special Smoked Trout Salad sando had an amazing contrast of flavors and textures: sweet and salty, smokey and briney, (fried then chilled?) trout skin and just a touch of two types of tiny popping fish roe. I was surprised I enjoyed it more than the GHF (catfish), but I can say I thorughly enjoyed both because I ONLY ate half of each. A full sando of either would've been a bit much toward the finish.
Sides were ok. The kitchen pepper carrots were a bit subtle for me. The potato chips were tasty but my portion was slightly darker/burnt than the others I saw coming from the fryer. Hush puppies were straight-forward and their briney spiced mayo sauce was fun.
We had the Our South saison, chef Ashleigh's collab with Burial Beer. Although it wasn't particularly remarkable in and of itself, it was a great compliment to the food and a memorable part of the overall experience.
Wheelchair accessibility: Not accessible. Metal staircase only. All (limited) seating at counter-height.“

“Best restaurant in Asheville by far. We always bring out of town guests here. Ingredients and flavors are always incredibly creative, and meats and seafood are cooked to perfection. Their desserts are to die for, but it's difficult to leave room =) Great wine and cocktail selection as well.“

“Lovely atmosphere, very attentive and accommodating staff. The sushi was awesome. I highly recommend the Sweetie pie roll. I love sushi and it was not only delicious but also unlike anything I've had before. The tempeh and sweet potatoes made a crunchy umami that I loved.“

“I recently dined at The Village Social at Antler Hill, and it was such a wonderful experience. We enjoyed the hummus, tomato pie, and arugula salad, all of which were absolutely delicious. The flavors were fresh, and the dishes were well-balanced. We opted to sit outside, and the ambiance was perfect! A great way to enjoy the scenery while savoring a meal. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a delightful outdoor dining experience!“

“A beautiful, an ultimately gorgeous little get away, the rooms are immaculate and clean. And the restaurant there is just amazing. So amazing that I wanted to work there to get a "taste" of what else they served. And I am blown away by how expertly everything is crafted and the ingredients used.

“Visited Laila for lunch a few weeks after Helene raged through Asheville and surrounding areas. I want to greatly commend them for being open and making the best of a very difficult situation. As huge fans of Andaaz (their sister restaurant, flooded in Helene), we wanted to give them some business to at least help a little with their recovery. Their lunch buffet food was outstanding and similar to Andaaz's. Even on paper plates and with plastic utensils! The only drawback was the cost of parking in downtown Asheville. We need to find a better solution for that. Otherwise, we will definitely be back, especially as the city continues to recover.“
