“Let me tell you we had the BEST experience here! The service and the cocktails blew us away. Between the four of us we couldn’t say whose drink was better, they were all perfectly crafted. I think the house blueberry margarita was my favorite. We adored our server—so sorry I can’t remember her name—but she took great care of us. The food was fantastic too—I loved my spicy clam and bacon pizza. Don’t sleep on Root and Vine, y’all!“
“Not sure what some of these reviewers are talking about with low scores. This place is excellent and a true hidden gem. Maybe they're getting something irregular, but I've enjoyed their BBQ the most, but also enjoyed their sandwiches like the Reuben and the chicken parm.I'll add a pic of the BBQ on a return visit, and as someone that has done 19/20 of the NC Historic BBQ trail spots, this one can hang at least with their BBQ. You have to be a fan of the country style cooking because most meals are set around having 2 vegetables as a side, which are more in line with your K&W cafeteria level“
“I order take out from Chen’s somewhat regularly. The lunch combo plates are a good price for a lot of food. The food is always ready in 10 minute! I’m not a big fan of the sauces but I have a number of favorite dishes. The hot and sour soup is very good and I like it when they make it extra spicy. The crispy noodles are always crispy. I love the chicken on a stick and the chow mai fun. The older fella who works the front sometimes is very kind and friendly.“
“You really can't beat the atmosphere of this place. The food is always excellent and the attention to detail on the unique menu - both for food and drinks - is truly superb. The night scene here is great but I like it even better on Sunday for a good casual brunch. Check it out anytime regardless!“
“We love this food! However, you need to either dine in or pick up yourself and check it before you leave. Everything was spot on the first 2 or 3 times we ordered. After that, no big deal the first mess up, however the next 3 times after I got cheese in my HAMburger (you even have to ADD cheese as an extra) no butter or sour cream with a baked potato, and the hot fudge sundae w/ice cream all put together to go. This typically comes separate and never had to specify, When I called, I was told they don't separate UNLESS you specify....sorry, but how does that even make sense? It's ice cream...and a hot fudge cake. I've never specified, that's how I know the ice cream comes in a little white separate pack....js The food is worth it, just make the drive.“
