“Absolutely one of the best places for Indian food we have been to. The place is new but the are a sister restaurant to Andaaz in Biltmore. The quality is very comparable and the drinks are a wonderful blend of flavors Eric had the Lamb Vindaloo while I had the Brazino. Both were amazing The staff were very friendly and helpful. Kevin the bartender was great. But don't get confused he isn't Indian. The owner Tony does have a vested interest and personally gets input from the patrons“
“I got their chicken frankie today for takeout and oh myyy was it delicious. Think massive Indian chicken wrap packed with flavor. It also came with a side of perfectly crispy fries and a couple of dipping sauces. If you’re like me, you could make two meals out of it thanks to their great portion size. I’ll definitely be coming back :)“
“The first time here won't be our last. Absolutely great food and vibes. Really, it's an eclectic little place, West asheville vibes and all. But the food was over the top bang on delicious. Had the Gobi 65; indo-Chinese cauliflower, lightly dusted with red pepper, coriander, and fried, it has some real kick, but the cauliflower is still there, little fresh ginger sticks, jalapeños peppers, 2 dipping sauces, one Soy based and one yogurt based. What a combo. Also, the Malai chicken roll; chicken marinated in yogurt, cardamon, ginger, and garlic, wrapped in a hot buttered nann with slaw, green chutney, cilantro and onions. To die for, the combination of flavors, the quality of the ingredients all come to gather in food perfection. I don't impress easily as a creative chef myself and having traveled the world experienceing so many culinary delights. Yep, this was right up there and right in my backyard.“
“This is a consistently great restaurant. The food is always delicious and my heat level 3out 5 was perfect, spicy but can still taste the food. We both had lamb and it was fork tender. Our server was great and made our dinner that much more enjoyable. Thank you all!“
“Mehfil is so consistently good. Delivery, takeout, in-person - I've never had a less than stellar meal. And the staff and owners are also incredibly nice. They go out of their way to make you feel like a welcomed guest. It's my favorite place to take visitors because I know the food and service will be on point.Dietary restrictions: Tons of great, clearly marked options for gluten free, vegetarian and dairy free!“
“Good place for Indian food if you're ok with getting it from a buffet. The food I tried seemed fresh (& spicy) and delicious. We arrived after many people were already eating, so some of the food was gone (empty pan) but the lesson here is arrive no later than noon. Having said that... I would try it again because the buffet offers a variety of tasty treats that are labeled above the dish (on signs) and it's not expensive.“
“Could not find a single flaw here. The food is delicious and authentic. The portions are fair. The service is attentive and informative. They have good variety. There's nothing missing! We did however attend this place an hour before closing, so there was not a packed service to analyze. Nonetheless, I'll definitely be back.“
“Wow! So grateful I found this hidden gem! Having grown up on superb Indian and Pakistani food in NYC, my high expectations typically leave me feeling a little lackluster. Biryani Express did not disappoint. Everything was SO flavorful, well balanced, to the right spice level and absolutely delicious! Even their jasmine rice was cooked with whole cardamom pods! Yum! I had the chicken tikka masala, beef/lamb shawarma, and vegetable pakora. It’s surprising and unfortunate to read the negative reviews. I suppose it’s not easy to please those who are chronically displeased. Do yourself a favor and check out Biryani Express. It’s not fancy, but it’s hands-down the best Indian/Pakistani food outside of NYC.Parking: This gem is in a plaza with plenty of parking. Easy to access, easy to park, and no need to pay for overpriced underwhelming Indian food downtown.“
“We came here for dinner on a Saturday evening. It wasn’t packed and they don’t rush you which is nice. I got the vegetable combination platter and it was so good. The garlic naan is amazing as well. The service is good as well. I plan to come back soon for the lunch buffet.“
“We went there on a Sunday evening and found a table very quickly.Great Indian street food restaurant, definitely worth giving it a try if you are in the Asheville area. Food tasted amazing. I highly recommend the Vada Pav and SPDP.Our server was not the best, that is the only reason for giving 4 stars. She never asked us how the food was or if everything came out ok. If we wanted to order something we had to call her and ask her to put in the order. The restaurant was not busy at all so I would not expect this type of service from a Chai Pani staff.“
