“While in town visiting our daughter, I was in the mood for Thai food, and we ate at the Thai House downtown. Great location being downtown and service was pretty quick for our takeout order.\n\nThe food was flavorful and spicy which is one of my measures of how good and authentic the Thai food is. A lot of places tone down the spiciness for their local markets. My daughter had the Gaeng daeng curry, I had the Spicy Thai pasta and my wife did not recall her dish but remembers that it was very good. That's what happens when you do the review a few months after your visit. Will definitely make a return visit.“
“We picked this brewery to stop at because it was a convenient distance from I-95 along US 52 in Florence. We did not know what to expect. We loved everything about it. It is roomy and airy inside with pool tables, a very nice bar and seating area. The bartenders were very well-mannered and informative. They made suggestions as we tried many of their styles. We ordered up our usual two flights to start things off. The brews were generally very good to excellent. It is difficult to pick a favorite, but I would recommend the Vectors Black Cascadian Dark Ale, which was simply amazing, and a collaboration effort with another SC brewery (Wild Heart). A trivia game got started during our visit that we could not stay long enough to join in, but we played along quietly for the first couple rounds and it was a lot of fun. We were on a roll and probably should have stayed. This was the kind of place that the next time we visit, we will safely assume going in that everything will taste good. We came in to try the beer and left very happy that we did stop in at Seminar.“

“Some of the best beers are served up at this brewery. It was at a convenient location for us to stop at mid-day. We appreciated the early opening time. We walked in and found a taproom/restaurant that was very clean and well maintained. The decor was modern and inviting. Danny greeted us at the door and he couldn't have been nicer. He was our bartender too and was very accommodating to our tastes. There was a really great selection of different styles of beer and we picked what we wanted for a flight and took up Danny's suggestions for the next one. All the beers were very good or better. The most amazing ones were the Beach Peach Wheat Ale and Green Strings Märzen. We also met the owner who delighted us with the story of the brewery itself and informative facts about craft beer in SC. Between the bartender, Danny, and the owner, the folks at Southern Hops were warm and friendly and made us feel welcome. We came to try the beer and didn't try the food. Maybe next time we will come for a meal too. We would like to visit again soon and try more of the great tasting brews.
Parking: Dirt/Gravel parking lot has plenty of room. Right off US-76 and not far from I-95.“
